Right before we left for the Christmas trip home, we decided to stop by and catch up. Let's see how the visit went. There were hardly any people inside when we walked in which was perfectly fine with us. The staff as always greeted us before we got seated. And the vibe was very relaxed throughout. After a few minutes of looking over the order, we were ready. Mine consisted of honey chicken wings (10) and a side of curly fries. I had the honey chicken tenders previously and enjoyed my selection. So why not go with the flavor again?! The food itself was good. Never have I ever had a bad dish here so that streak is perfect. The wings were crunchy as always and the honey flavor wasn't too sweet for my palate. The curly fries, as always, were the perfect side. Every side dish is a hit, but the broccoli salad is my personal favorite. My kids can't get enough of the fries and mac and cheese! She was helpful but frankly, we were anxious to order. The menu is not expansive but it had a decent selection. My grandson and I both got the pulled pork sandwiches. They haave a good selection of side dishes. I got their cheesy potatoes - like all gratin potatoes - and baked beans. My grandson got their french fries and mac and cheese. The disposable drink cups they provide are branded plastic 20 oz which are surprisingly good quality. They have three different types of sauces on the table which are decent but none really hit it out of the park. However the pulled pork sandwiches were tender and juicy and really didn't need a lot of sauce. My grandson's eyes lit up when he tasted the mac and cheese. He looked at me and said this is the real thing! I tried it and he was right. My cheesy potatoes were just as good. If I had to be critical, the one thing on the plate which was not super was their hush puppies which were good and of a decent size, but was a bit overcooked. While we were eating we noticed a sign on the table which advertised $3 milkshakes between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. We both got milkshakes to go and they were wonderful, just like homemade. Frequently, new restaurants encounter challenges is the come up to speed. And I have seen earlier reviews of qdaddies that suggested they went through a phase of that. However I can now say that they have hit their stride and is an excellent new addition to Yorktown.
