Rude, rude, rude. Never returned a message left two days ago checking on a small glass pane that was a few days over due. Left a new massage two days later. This one was returned but after some time locating the order I was advised that it wouldn't be in for another week. When I mentioned this was not acceptable as I was told it wouldn't be in earlier this week, the person said" I'll cancel the order, goodbye" and hung up. It was a swift as that. Super expensive and slow delivery time. I didn't do my homework and got RIP off. I don't know they do it to everyone or just me, I found that they charged me twice as much and made me wait almost a month. Updates: After the review, Sunset Glass contacted me to harass me! They blame me for over charging me! I think this is why they have good reviews because they would intimidate customers to only write good reviews. Another updates: I feel this business is dishonest. They tried to claim I wanted refund which I never did. Also, No one told me it would take this long. But after I posted review they claim that they would charge me less had I allowed longer waiting time. If I could give a negative rating, I would. I can't get over how rude the staff at this location is. In particular Lisa, is BEYOND rude and lacks customer service skills. When you have a client that has worked with you for YEARS, there should be no reason to make things more difficult. A simple communication would be all that is needed. We dropped doors off with them at least a month ago, and when they were dropped off they asked who is paying for them. Clearly, we were paying for them. Regardless, they were getting paid for. Instead, they said they were going to be ready Wednesday last week, and I called a week after to arrange payment and pick them up. They STILL HAVEN'T put the glass on the doors, so my client is left waiting 2-3 weeks...all because no one followed up regarding payment? It is so petty, and I can't wait until we start using another company. I will be sure not to recommend or send anyone in the industry to this company. Awful, just awful. read more

We searched around for companies that had experience replacing glass jewelry case tops and someone in the window & glass industry recommended Sunset Glass. They sent out someone to professionally measure the tops and they installed them like pros. Applying the adhesive tape is an art and they made it look easy. The finished job looked very good. We had a shattered glass French Door; after a few other companies came out to provide estimates, they let us know it would be very difficult since the doors would likely need to be replaced due to the way the glass was installed into the center of the door. Sunset was the only company of the three that said they would be able to do it. I ordered the glass and was told they would call me after 7 days, when they expected it to arrive. I did not receive a call, so followed up with a call nearly two weeks later. They told me they did have the glass and would have someone schedule a time to come out. (Why did I have to call them when I was told they would call me as soon as it arrived)? It took another 3 weeks before they were able to come out. The installer, Elliott, was awesome! He deserves 5 stars! He used part of our garage to assemble the door; it ended up that it was actually a fiberglass door--not wood, so it was difficult for him to rout out the trim. It took several hours, but he was able to do it, and sealed up the trim when done. He cleaned up the mess in the garage, so you would never know he spent 3.5 hours working on a door there. Your Sunset Glass service trucks may need to get maintenance done soon. A blob of oil was left behind on our driveway after he pulled out. Overall, the service of Elliott and the fellow (Doug?) who came out to provide the estimate, made the experience worthwhile. Professional and quality work. read more

I would steer clear of doing business with this outfit. They were the worst to deal. The people I dealt with were very rude and difficult. They are also super expensive as well. My advice is to go elsewhere. In addition, I was haunted for payment relentlessly by Lisa when I just received the bill. She has now slapped a lien on my home and is demanding over $100 in fees. I have dealt with Sunset Glass for many years in 2 different businesses and they have always been friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. We had an issue where we were helping a client replace a window in their home. They asked me who I'd recommend for the fix and I referred them to Sunset Glass because I knew they'd be taken care of. Although it was a small project, Sunset Glass and staff took care of things quickly. The scheduling was easy and my client got taken care of which made me look good to them. There is no customer service, they don't call back, they will not deliver on time. Sunset Glass had to do the installation today (3 weeks after ordering the mirrors, plenty of time) - they failed to do so, when talked to them by phone, the lady claimed that 'they couldn't have scheduled me for today'. When I told the lady this was the agreement done when doing the transaction, she started acting like a child, giving me ridiculous and rude answers. I have a final bank inspection tomorrow and my project is incomplete as I have no mirrors installed. This is the consequence of choosing an unreliable and poor service company. UPDATE Sunset Glass billed me again for service NOT PERFORMED and goods not delivered - that would be qualified as theft and has been reported as such. Do not give them your debit card. read more

If I could, I would have given "0" stars!!! These people are both RUDE and their service is TERRIBLE. They can NOT even do a simple measurement of a rectangular shape glass!!! I have brought a sample of the glass that I needed to duplicate to this store, they measured it and it took more than a week to get my order ready. Then after a week when I took the new sample home, I found out that it was cut 1 inch LONGER! When I went back and let them about this issue, instead of being nice and apologize for their bad service and mistake, first they claim this is NOT cut/manufacture by them (super irresponsible). When I showed them the receipt they start to mesure again and ask for the original sample to verify the issue (they don't trust their customer). Then I raised my voice a bit and argue that with them, suddenly they start to pay attention, but still being super rude (this was my first time in Seattle raising my voice on someone). Finally they took the glass back cut it in less than 5 minutes brought it back!!! So if you to be treated with rude ladies and have a super awful service just go to this place. read more

Brought the exact window to be replaced into Sunset glass for this company to duplicated exactly. Picked the window up and took to my client. Client notices that the texture on the window on new window was on the inside not on the outside as in the original. Called Sunset who stated that it was unsually to have the texture on the outside so thats why they changed it. There are 4 windows total in a row on this home that need to match. I stated to Sunset that I bought you the window match and inspect you are suppose to be the experts and you missed this detail. I should not have to point out details or measure for you. If I had not brought you the window and ordered over the phone then it would be my complwtely my fault. Sunset forced me to pay 1/2 of the overal cost to order and get a corrected second window. It would have cost me more to start all over with a second company. Looking back, I should have after returning the window called my Visa company and had the credit card charges denied. I was in the middle of a clients remodel and now waiting for a re-make of a new window. This was just morally wrong on the part of Sunset Glass. Shame on them. I think the main person who helped me was named Michael and he was great. He had like this sophisticated sass about him that I found hilarious and fun. The staff was great!! The two workers coming to the house had tools, matyerials, they had the plan, and they were efficient. They explained what they were doing and why. The company was honest, provided a great warranty, and said call if there is a problem. I received a follow up call asking me if all was well. They sent materials about proper care and maintaing the new window. They found ways of doing a great job within my budget, and I now have a better window replacement than the original. Worst experience ever!! 10 days ago during very hot weather, our skylight (approx. 4'x5') exploded in the kitchen. Glass was raining everywhere. I called Sunset, who sold us the skylight, to get someone out to help clean it up and to replace it on our homeowners insurance. The person I talked with told me to get a broom and knock down the remaining glass myself....REALLY!!! I am not going to stand under the skylight and let glass fall on me! Upon my request she gave me the phone# of Gold Finch Bros. in Seattle. While they could not come out, THEY got on the phone and found me someone (the Glass Doctor) who could in fact be there in 2 hours! Really bad customer service! Sunset Glass refused to negotiate their terms and expected me to take on all the risk of our doing business together. When I balked at the "you'll pay our attorneys' fees" clause, they told me that I would have to pay everything up front instead. When I asked who would pay my fees if I had a problem with their work, I was told they did not want my business. Our contractor submitted specified finish sizes. One mirror was 10 inches (!!!) off, and rendered the mirror unusable. The contractor still had the note with the sizes, but the clerk wrote them down incorrectly. The owner, Lisa Cowden (sp?) was rude, defensive, and less than helpful. She told me that all cutting was at the customer's risk and that it was our contractor's fault for not verifying the sizes before leaving the store. It would have cost her next to nothing to provide a new mirror. Instead, she told me to shut up and let her talk. She went on to say that they took NO responsibility since she didn't charge for the labour. That's all fine and good, but the mirror is now unusable because it is 10 inches off and far too small. I now have to purchase a new one. In the past I also had a new screen made because we had a burglary. The screen was less than perfect, but I let it go. Perhaps this company needs to hire more diligent employees, or at the very least accept some degree of accountability for their errors and refrain from being rude to customers. My advice is to stay away from this firm. read more

He did some calculations based on other windows in my house, and ordered the parts. Doug even showed me how to install the balances after they arrived. Terrible customer service and the owner is down right rude. Brought a piece of glass in from my boat windshield to get a replacement because it was cracked. The owner said they would call shortly with a quote. Several days went by and no one call so I followed up. They claimed to be very busy but haven't forgotten about me. I left on a business trip for a week and they still never called. When I got back went in to pick up another order and they still had not done anything with the boat windshield but said they would have a quote to me the following day. They did send a quote for $165 and a sheet to sign off on the dimensions even though I had brought the glass in. On the sign off sheet they had the thickness wrong 3/8" twice the thickness of the glass needed so when it show up it would not fit. I took the glass to an auto windshield place to see if they could make it fit and they immediately said no way and that whoever cut the glass did a terrible job because there were sharp edges. The auto glass place only charged $50 for the new replacement of the proper size and thickness. Sunset Glass would not refund any of my money and were quite rude. I will never step foot in their facility again and would not recommend them for anything! read more
