We were randomly looking for a seaside place to lunch. I yelped this place and saw 3 stars. I thought what the heck. We drive up and see this shanty looking place, but it is on the ocean. Excited anyway. Boy, was I surprised at the view, service, food, and drink!! I think someone wants to keep this place under wraps. I'm now thinking of vacationing around here!!! We just returned from a very pleasant lunch at the Sunset Grille on a perfect weather day, not too hot, not too cold, not too windy...you get the idea. We were seated as we requested in the sunny area and soaked up the sun and atmosphere. It was pretty busy for a Thursday afternoon. I read other reviews about the food but what we had was fabulous and fresh. I asked if the lobster salad could be put on greens and they were accommodating enough to do that. My husband had a fried fish sandwich that was generous and he said it was quite tasty. I would certainly recommend it for lunch, we'll have to return so we can sample the dinner menu. read more

Brought my family of six here on a Saturday, we shared a couple orders of the shrimp and oysters and caprese salad, by Sunday night/Monday morning all 6 of us were very sick for 3 days. We live in two separate households so the only thing in common was the one meal we all shared. I called the city health department and after several days of interviews and investigation it was clear where this food poisoning originated from (verifiable fact). I called the restaurant to let them know what happened, the first time they put me on hold and said I'd get a call back. No one called back. I called again the next day and got a manager on the phone, he said it was probably the shrimp. He took my information and said the owner would call me back. Owner never called me. Moral of this story: dine here at your own risk, in my opinion it is not safe! read more

The food isn't worth dealing with dismissive And incredibly rude staff. What seems like a cool, "hole in the wall" is just a hot bed of nastiness. It ruins your evening and leaves you wishing you had been somewhere else. There are plenty of other seafood restaurants in Fairfield County where you can get your Lobster without a side of attitude. Not surprisingly, this place is kinda crowded just as the sun is about to go down. You get a great view of the water and good food and drink. I thought the service was a little below average. But that has a lot to do with the cramped layout inside where a bunch of tables are jammed together. I would have liked the chance to switch from white wine to something else when my steak came, but I didn't see the waiter again until we were almost done. The parking situation is a little weird, since it's right at a marina, but the beach people can direct you when your GPS fails you. read more

We usually have one or two favorite places we go in SoNo but yesterday we wanted a sunset view as we celebrated the last official day of summer! When we pulled up it kind of looked like a beer joint and we weren't so sure how the food would be so we agreed to drop in for a drink and check it out first before deciding to take a table. There was live music playing as we came in which was awesome and immediately set the vibe for a delightful evening. Things only got better from that point on as we saw the plates that were coming out of the kitchen. The staff was very accommodating and even though they said they would be a 40 minute wait we were seated within five minutes. We started off with a lobster avocado salad that was a bit disappointing because there was an over abundance of mixed greens in the way. My Sesame tuna entree was outstanding!! The portion was very generous and it was served over perfectly steamed jasmine rice with a hint of coconut and was surrounded by a light ginger miso broth. It was topped with julianne vegetables. We ordered a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir and while it was brought to the table a bit too warm we asked for an ice bucket and after shocking it for a few minutes it was superb. Decent place to grab a bite to eat, have a drink and sit outside on the marina. Prices are a little higher than comparable places but hey those others aren't on the water. The clam chowder was a bit runny and I would pass on it when I go again. The lobster Cobb salad which was good. Lobster was fresh and tasty. read more

Second time at this place. Atmosphere was great, as well as great service. Good was a bit of a dissapointment though. Whe the lobster bisque is one of the best I have ever had the seafood combo was lackluster, skimpy and VERY OVERPRICED. I had exactly three shrimp, two scallops, a tiny piece of fish and two calamari rings ????? For $26???? I'd get a better meal at red lobster for that price! Will be back for drinks and to enjoy the view but never again for dinner. I'd rather take the one hour trip to City Island in the Bronx and get my money's worth with a bountiful plate of VERY FRESH seafood. read more

Loved this place for more reasons than one! Atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Services was great, as well as the food. We started with a seafood ceviche which had a great taste to it. My husband had the lobster risotto which at first I thought was a small portion but ended up being a perfect portion. The wait staff are on top of their game and not rushing you out of your seat. Was so looking forward to my restaurant experience in many months. . Had reservations, which were meaningless as it took 1:2 hour to be seated. I understand the new rules, however, if they aren't equipped to handle reservations, they shouldn't accept. Everyone was extremely nice, and the comfort level with all these rules outside is as good as it's going to get, so kudos to the management. Food, however, is another story. Had the crab dip appetizer. It was good, but $15 is overpriced for the tiny portion. For main meal I had the lobster roll. Hands down worse lobster roll I ever had. The lobster must have been pre pandemic as if iodine cures covid, then by all means go for it. It's hard to believe a lobster can taste so horrid. It was tiny as well for the price, but as it's so bad, that's a good thing. Others in my party had the lobster risotto , again , prefer fresh lobster and not iodine. The fish and chips , the cod was also a piece of iodine. I don't understand how a seafood restaurant can have the worst seafood I ever had. Shameful . You would think they would want to generate happy customers for when things get back to normal , but no, they are using their old rancid fish to serve. read more

The food was great and the ambience was fantastic. However the service was sub par. I'm not a food snob, however as a patron I shouldn't have to stand up and walk over to a busboy twice to ask for butter or bread when the waitress fails to bring it to your table. - she had no problems bringing the table next to us their drinks first, our table didn't order any alcoholic drinks. If you say yes I'll get you x or y, use your busboys to bring it to the table if you are overloaded. We were never asked if we wanted another iced tea or ginger ale as well. When the check came I paid with my card and when I went to sign for it. There was no pen. So yet again I had to walk up this time to the hostess station and sign and give it to the hostess. I have never in my life not left a tip. This was the first time ever and I didn't feel good about it but as a waitress you are representing where you work, and acting as customer service at the same time and our waitress failed. The food was fantastic, the lump crab cake was amazing and I never would have thought of having pesto with it and the scallops were on point (we did ask for lemons which did not accompany it, the lemons never showed up), the mashed potatoes and spinach were great as well. I will go again and I hope my experience will be better because the food and atmosphere were great. read more

The food was OK. They had nothing for vegetarians but the chicken was good. Their tables are confusing with some tables for the outdoor seating and some of them for outdoor bar seating but you can still order food at the bar seating tables. By the way they take reservations so I would definitely reserve a table especially in the summer. I love the outdoor music and the sunset! read more

Staff is friendly and efficient. Lobster bisque came fast after the order and was awesome. We got here at 7p on a Saturday and it was crowded, but we did not wait for a table. The dinner was good but not impressive... The place however is a bit dated, and the chairs were uncomfortable. Some might find it quaint. My complaint is the chips for the fish and chips were like McDonalds French fries. Ok but not great. Didn't stay for desert. It would be worth it if the evening were a little warmer and we were on the deck. We are here for the boat show, but would not go out of my way. read more

There are several waterfront restaurants in the NORWALK area - this is one of our two favorites. The location is terrific with plenty of waterfront seating and a large overhead sunshade so you can be shielded from the direct sun if you prefer. The menu contains a relatively small number of items for lunch but every one is delicious. The food is consistently great. The dinner menu is larger. The salads are made of the freshest, tastiest ingredients and the seafood is delicious. The salad dressing is unique and tangy. All of the cooked seafood choices are perfectly done. They even have a delicious burger if you are a landlubber. The drinks are served ice cold and are always refreshing. The wait staff is excellent and helpful. This is a very popular spot so in season you can sometimes have to wait but the wait is well worth it. There are slips for boats but they are reserved through the marina. read more

We asked our server if we could move our table to a table in the shade and he said it was no problem. Then, we were questioned by another worker if we were allowed to move and who allowed us to move because their reservations were full (there were countless open tables). 53 MINUTES to take our order!!! We were hungry, irritated, and ignored. Food eventually came out in 8 minutes, which makes me question the freshness of it, especially since it is seafood. Yikes what happened. Got an appetizer and the calamari didn't appear to be well cooked, wasn't as warm in the center. We didn't complain. But a half hour later when our waitress hadn't returned to take our order - and the waitstaff we asked to let her know we would really like to order dinner reported back that they had no luck finding her - we were ready to bail. We said we would like our check. Another 5 minutes pass and a server comes out and says sorry we switched tables what would you like? Our check. He brought it. We then had to go to the host stand after another ten minutes of waiting for our card to be run. The original waitress never even took our drink order.
