If you even think about stealing a butter knife, you'll be in for it!

If you enjoy staying in an outdated hotel with dingy narrow halls and love rules on signs everywhere with fees for violations, printed in the smallest of fine print, then look no further, you have found your hotel! As an extra bonus, the hotel management, which includes a red headed woman and a Napoleon complex guy named Brian, operate the place like a concentration camp. One of the many rules includes mandatory mask wearing. Other than at the airport, I have not been mandated to wear a mask anywhere over the past six months, so it was no longer a habit. At no other place in Vancouver did I have to put on a mask during my stay, except for this hotel. When a business requires extra safety measures beyond what is required by law, I question why they think they know more than the leading health experts who decide what mandates should be in place. A specific incident happened on September 19, 2022 at a time when Covid levels in Vancouver were bottoming out to the lowest levels since Covid started. In this instance my mask was going to require digging through my bag, and since it takes about 8 seconds to walk from the elevator out the front door, I simply put my hand over my mouth, pinched my nose and held my breath. This is safer than wearing a mask because I wasn't breathing. Brian and his red headed female coworker started screaming at me to put on a mask as through this were November of 2020 when cases were peaking and there were no vaccines. I responded once I got out the front door to indicate that I'm good. Brian had the audacity to chase me down the street, yelling at me like one of the crazy people loitering out front that he was going to cancel my reservation. I didn't want to relocate on the last day of my trip so I assured him I would wear a mask in the lobby thereafter. When I came back, the red headed woman brow beat me, saying it was impossible for me to hold my breath for that long, even though I had just done so when I had left an hour before. No one in the service industry should ever treat guests with that much disrespect and enforce rules that defy logic and science. Do not book here and if you have, cancel your reservation and stay elsewhere. With all of the nanny rules taped everywhere around the hotel and concentration camp style of enforcement, it is very uncomfortable to be here, especially as a gay traveler.

Positives: Most bang for your buck. We were upgraded from a studio to a 1 bedroom apartment for free. The one bedroom was more like a mini apartment housed with a separate bedroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. Free parking was also a plus. Instant hot water. Free breakfast - cereal, muffins, juices Located next to many popular restaurants at walkable distances in downtown. Negatives: Bathroom is a bit small, but this is me trying to be picky.

This is our go to place for company visits to Vancouver. They are apartments turned into suites so full kitchen and living room area. Kitchen is essential if you're spending more than only a couple of days to save on dinning out! It's equipped with the basic kitchen necessities like pans, pots, knives, dish ware and so on. Every room I've had so far has been different. One might only have one couch and others two. One has a long kitchen while the other has a bigger dining room area. One vs. two sinks in the bathroom. But they all have the same old timer feel. Breakfast is included - you'll find a waffle station, cereals, baked goods, juices and coffee. If you forget a handy umbrella since, let's face it it always rains in Vancouver, they'll happily lend you one during your stay. Oh! There's a bowl of jelly beans waiting for you as you head to the main elevator. Yumm! The staff has always been really friendly and accommodating. You'll also find cute notes around the suite on other things they offer. It's like staying at a families bed and breakfast sort of vibe.

Balcony of our room. It was the perfect place to enjoy our poutine from Fritz!

From the moment we pulled up to the valet through every interaction with room service and housekeeping, the team made us feel like royalty -- attentive without ever being intrusive, polished without feeling rehearsed. It's the kind of view the city is famous for, delivered from the comfort of your own suite.

Everything here feels modern, clean, and luxurious. Our room was beautiful, especially the bathroom with its dual sinks, separate bathtub and rain shower, and separate area for toilet. The Le Labo products were a nice touch, and everything from the towels, robes, slippers, and bedding felt luxe and high end. These beds and pillows were some of the best hotel beds/pillows I've ever slept on. We all slept so well! We also ordered room service for breakfast and everything was so good, with reasonable room service prices for the amount you get. Didn't use the gym, but it's recently renovated and beautiful. They provide iced water infused with electrolytes and there are even Pilates machines! There's also a heated rooftop outdoor pool that we didn't have time to take advantage of too. Not only is this hotel amazing, but it's in a prime location to everything - especially if you're a first time visitor to Vancouver. It's super easy to hop on the shuttle to the suspension bridge, or take a sea boat or hop on the subway to/from the airport. It's also walking distance to Gastown, Robson Street, Stanley Park and the Seawall. Highly recommend this hotel if you're in the city!

I've always…read morewanted to stay at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia (on W Georgia St) or the L'Hermitage Hotel (on Richards St) as they're located closer to the places I frequented when in town so this time, I checked on availability and pricing. A one-bedroom signature suite at L'Hermitage was significantly less than a regular room at the Pan Pacific and the Rosewood so I booked 3 nights ($625CAD/night). I got off the Silver Moon at 9:45am, handed my luggage off to a representative from Luggage Forward, and walked from the cruise terminal up to the hotel. My room wasn't ready, so I dropped off my carry-on and backpack and went shopping and to have lunch. I was still on my way to CF Pacific Centre when the front desk called, informing me my room was ready. I told them I'd return after lunch. Wow, I loved my room (707)! As you entered through a short hallway, you found yourself looking at a full kitchen to your right, bathroom to your left and then the bedroom, past a closet housing a stack washer/dryer. The living room was bright and airy because there were walls of glass. Past the kitchen was a den with a desk and sofa. Off the living room was a small lanai overlooking the pool. The kitchen featured a gas range, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. It was like a timeshare unit, not a hotel room, as there was tableware, glassware, etc. The only nitpick was the bathroom; it didn't quite measure up to the rest of the unit. It was small, with a full-sized glass-enclosed tub, a Toto (but without the washlet) toilet, and a small vanity and shelf unit opposite the vanity. It was totally functional, but I wished the tub had a shower wand, not just the rain head. If I could, I'd want this room moved to Hawaii to become my residence. The front desk staff were personable and friendly. The exercise facilities were fine. The L'Orangerie restaurant is located on the 5th floor ... more on that in a separate review. All told, I found the L'Hermitage to be perfect for me and will now be my hotel of choice when in Vancouver.

My favorite amenities--clothing steamer and hot water kettle--were promptly delivered. What's better than tea and wrinkle-free clothes? The room was quiet and afforded me uninterrupted sleep. The lighting at the desk caused my colleagues to compliment my visage on video conference calls. The location was an easy walk to everywhere I needed to go in Vancouver. L'Orangerie, the dining room and lounge on the fifth floor, was a lovely place to take tea and lunch. My dining companion and I had the place nearly to ourselves. On my next visit to Vancouver, I hope I'll be lucky enough to stay at L'Hermitage again.

You could also take a car but unless the weather is bad or you have mobility issues, it is just as easy to walk over to the terminal. We were in before to check in and because of the cruise, rooms were not ready early. But they took our bags and gave us warm, delicious cookies! When we returned later to check in, we received more cookies. (Insert Cookie Monster meme here.) All of the staff we encountered was very friendly, even the security guard on Hastings Street, though he didn't tell us that if we would just walk around the corner to Seymour there is an entrance without stairs that is better for luggage... We didn't bother with the restaurant after seeing the prices, but we can say that the rooms are lovely. Our suite was perfect for three people, with a nice living room area and a separate bedroom though the closet was very small for a room that could potentially accommodate four people. With the exception of a very worn out, past its prime chair, everything in the room from the furniture to the bathroom was in great condition, too.
