Accidents happen--especially in stores where bottles are tightly packed and customers are encouraged to browse. I believe it was unfair and poor customer service to place the full responsibility on a customer for an unintentional accident, without any attempt at goodwill or consideration. The way this was handled made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and it showed a lack of professionalism and empathy. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this store to others. Total Wine & More often has good prices and they normally always have coupons, especially for their off-brand Winery Direct and Spirits Direct offerings, which are sometimes surprisingly good for the price, while at other times the Winery/Spirits Direct brands should be passed on due to quality, while in other cases they aren't much lower in price vs. equivalent better-known name brand items. When shopping for imported wines or higher-end brands especially, I'd suggest comparison shopping with Happy Wine in the Grove or El Carajo up the street, as both have been known to beat Total Wine at times, depending on what you're buying.
