My boyfriend had a valid physical ID and was the only one buying alcohol. I wasn't purchasing anything. Because I didn't have my physical ID, they refused the sale. Ridiculous. Then he comes back alone and they tell him he has to wait 24 hours to buy alcohol. That's not responsible retailing, that's pure nonsense. After waiting 45 mins and being told i would be attended "shortly", i could not pick up my order because the other person i came with didn't have their physical IDs on them, which is dumb because I have been going with my mom since before I was of age and my ID was never asked for. Some type of notice should be installed on the apps and in-person locations to avoid the absolute waste of time this was. Absolutely horrible customer service. I walked into the store today to acquire my favorite liquor for a trip I'm going on in a couple days. I realized I had left my id in my purse that was in the car ( I had only brought my wallet into the store). As I was walking out there was a lady at a register and I smiled as I walked by. I was about to walk through the door and she started screaming at me "no come over here! Show me your id!" I was purely confused because I was just walking out, I wasn't buying anything. I turned around and she's pointing and yelling at me saying "you came in with this person you both have to show your ids!" I calmly said to her that I didn't know this woman she was pointing towards. I was aware that this woman had walked in at the same time as me, because she was walking in front of me when I was walking in, but I had absolutely no idea who this woman was. As I walked out and got into my car to leave, because I didn't want to buy anything from this place, due to being screamed at for leaving, I see this worker watching me leave!!! Even my sister that was in the car with me was freaked out. This worker was completely out of line to assume that people are with each-other just because they're walking into the store at the same time. We come here every one or two months for adult beverage supplies. We order online and then just pick up at the store. This time I had problems placing the order on the app but Uriel, the store manager helped me fix the problem by placing the order on the website. Here is very knowledgeable friendly and professional. The other night a few of us from Yelp got together for a UYE (unofficial yelp event) to taste some fine wines and learn about pairing. I had a great time and learned so much, can't wait to do it again. Our teacher was amazing! I left class saying, how much she knew her wine, and how much of an expert she was. If you are interested in learning about wine and wine pairings you need to take a class at Total Wine. The class costs $20 per person which is worth every bit of it. Before when I visited their stores I would be so confused and overwhelmed. She helped me to narrow down the wines I loved and now when I visit I know exactly what I'm going to buy. And, I learned something that I never knew, the theory that the more expensive the wine, the better, is completely untrue. The wines I loved, all three of them, all cost under $20! My local adult candy land. This particular total wine is nestled into the falls area. I've come here a few times. They are usually well stocked and more often than not they have some items they run out in other stores. I've always had good luck with this store and I'm happy about it. Recently came to grab some liquor for super bowl Sunday. Found all my favorites! Was looking for a new bubbly to try. Was asked by the manager if I needed help but I was just browsing. I came by Total Wine because I needed to find a nice gift for my boss for Christmas. I know he likes wine so I came by to see if I could find a nice gift basket here. Plenty to choose from, I found a nice one that was affordable priced and picked it up. It came with two bottles of French wine, and something to snack on.... mission accomplished! Since I was here I started exploring the store since I have actually never been inside a total wine...it's like a supermarket for booze! As I walked around I thought wow this must be AA's nightmare. I loved the wine tasting area... and loved how easy it was to find whatever brand of liquor, beer or wine you are looking for. Even with the ease of finding things. At one point I did ask a store associate for assistance. It was easy to find someone and get their help. I even saw several different employees doing the same for other customers and even giving them recommendations. Nice! Wish other places had this good customer service. I didn't give it five stars because I went looking for the Game of Thrones Scotch. I am a huge GOT fan and all I found was House Greyjoy? Seriously? I wanted House Stark.... heck or House Targaryen.... hell even Lannister but friggin Greyjoy?!... minus 1 star. I normally use the one at Town and Country because it's closer to my home, but I bought a bottle here several weeks ago and tried to exchange it for a different one at Town & Country, since I didn't have the receipt neither they had that specific wine in the store and was referred to Andy (the store manager at Pinecrest)... So it's been awhile since I last went to Total Wine. It's quite a ways away from me but I really wanted to practice my cocktail making skills and needed "supplies"...(or shall I say liqueur) to do so. Being in quarantine last year gave me the itch to try out some drinks I hadn't made before, like Espresso Martinis and Chocolate Martinis. I'm more of a wine consumer but quarantine changed things up for me quite a bit and dabbling in the hospitality industry, it's good to know a thing or two about making drinks. So with a mission in mind to gather ingredients to make White Chocolate Martinis, I set my sights on Total Wine. I hadn't been to this location in years -probably since it first opened. I wasn't into wine or spirits as much then as I am now but I must say walking into that store was like a wine lover's dream. I wasn't there to purchase wine but my shopping bug kicked in and I had the urge to walk down every aisle and scan so many wines with my Vivino app. Alas, I restrained myself from doing so and reminded myself not to go crazy and only buy what I needed. But seriously for those wondering if they offer a good selection of wines...yes. They do. I ended up by happenstance stumbling upon a section with miniature bottles of various types of liquors. I found myself picking up different bottles. Checking them out. Reading the labels. They really know how to grab your attention. Hence the pictures below. I found what I needed, though it was the larger version of it (Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur). They were out of stock on the smaller version. I probably should've called ahead to see if they had it in inventory. Either way, I got suckered in and ended up perusing the aisles for other items. I set my sights on the aisle where the other flavored liqueurs were and a lady named Cherise offered her help. I'm not entirely sure if that's the correct way to spell her name but either way she was a friendly face that approached me asking if I needed help. Now I'm the type of shopper who usually likes to be left alone as I usually know what I want and don't require additional assistance. Sorry if I sound rude but I'm that kind of shopper. In this case though, I welcomed her help. She seemed to really know her stuff because she ended up selling me on this Chocolate Italian Liqueur. Of course I hadn't intended on buying a Chocolate Liqueur but god help anyone who joins me on a retail outing because anyone who knows me knows that I will spend way too much time in any store that I enter, unless it's a gas station. Even Publix and CVS are exciting to me! But really I couldn't have been more grateful that she directed my attention to a certain item. It was an Italian Chocolate Liquer by Borgata. I had heard of the brand while looking online at the Total Wine website a few months ago but it was out of my price range. I had set my sights on the Van Meers Chocolate flavoring but I ended up with the more expensive one-The Borgata. I'm all for cost efficiency and sticking to a budget but they way this lady described it, it sounded too good to pass up. Seriously though, she was really helpful! She told me what it tasted like and what the consistency/texture of it would be and she was exactly right. It did indeed taste like melted Hershey's chocolate. She also named various ways I can use it, like drizzling it on cakes as a sauce, or as an after dinner drink over ice or even on ice cream! I had planned on only using it to make drinks but she got creative and suggested those other ways. Now that's a salesperson! I appreciate good sales people! It's a tough job but she did it impeccably! At first I thought she was trying to upsell me as I thought they work on commission but she didn't say anything about mentioning her name at checkout and the cashier didn't say anything either. That shocked me. That's why I wanted to give her a shout out here. Those who do a good job at their job deserve to be praised and recognized-especially those who go the extra mile. Plus I'm all about spreading kindness and positivity:) So thank you Cherise for suggesting that. It made my family Cocktail nights that much better...and delicious! Will I be back?...Most definitely!..granted that I'm in the area) Last time I had Instacart deliver it to me but going in is so much more fun (and less expensive). If you have the chance, stop by Total Wine. I will say though that I was somewhat disappointed they didn't have Absolut Vanilla Vodka in stock. They had every other type of Absolut Vodka but not that one. It wasn't a big deal but Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka isn't the same quality as Absolut hence why I took off a star but as far as customer service goes...five stars all around! I wish they had a Total Wine closer to me but for now, this one will do. Go check it out. Even if you don't like wine. There is something for everyone:) Cheers! read more

Wow what an amazing service this location offers!!!!! Even though they didn't have yet, the wine bottle I buy every year for my Thanksgiving dinner, the staff at this location was taking such a good care of me. At every other aisle I went, someone was ready to ask me if I needed anything. A very organized and clean store. With amazing promotions and great gift sets for the holidays. I didn't like the parking or the front of the store. It was kind of dirty but not the inside, at all. I will go back to get my wine and a few gift sets I liked but I didn't buy because I wanted to use my coupon. Thank you and see you next time!! She was a consummate professional, taking the time to ask questions about what kind of flavor profiles we like in a win before making several suggestions across different price points. What's there not to love about this place? Their wine selection - ranging from affordable, every day wines, to expensive splurges - is one of the best in town! While I shop here all the time, I had never attended one of their wine tasting classes. I just did and maaaaaaaaaan, I was TRULY IMPRESSED! First off, I like that the room is all the way in the back and is quite private. The tables accommodate about 4 people each and there isn't a bad seat in the house. You can see and hear the instructor from anywhere in the room. Speaking of the instructor, we were lucky enough to have what I believe, is one of the best instructors that Total Wine has to offer. She was funny, knowledgeable, and luckily, very patient. She also sang for us which after a few glasses of wine, you can imagine was super cool! And speaking of the wine... The selections that were offered to us and that we learned about were both diverse and delicious. There was only one wine that I didn't like and it wasn't because it was bad, but because it was sweet. ME NO LIKE VINO DULCE! All the others were great and I purchased (of course - duh!) a few bottles. The tasting is paired with a selection of meats and cheeses - all expertly selected to accompany the different wines. This wine class wasn't just a "here, taste this and move on!" It was a true experience where we learned a lot, had a great time, were able to taste several different wines, and had some meat and cheese to boot! I highly recommend taking this class and I REALLY recommend scheduling it with friends like we did. That makes it all the better. Why? Dear Total Wine & More, I was so excited thinking that I was going to get a first, but of course, my drunkie Yelp buddies already beat me to it. LOL Unfortunately, it did not come up and I did not get a chance to check-in. Oh well, c'est la vie; next time (there WILL be a next time). But anyhow, I digress... From now on, you will actually be known to my love and I as the "Toys 'R Us of Alcohol". I have never in my life seen such a huge store with so much variety for just the pleasure of drinking. WOW! Talk about selection!! This makes me a happy little girl, to say the least. You are probably bigger than a Costco or Sam's Club, and that's a pretty big feat. As craft beer drinkers (who actually drinks Bud Lite these days?), we pride ourselves in what our friends call "weird beers". I was blown away by the amount of different kinds of beers, from all over the world. They were arranged by color, taste, kind, hops, or country. I give you an A+ for organization and this is coming from a girl with OCD. I will say though, for having such a huge selection I did not see one beer from Suriname (just recently visited) and therefore you still have some things to learn... ;-) The rest of the store was a haven for wine drinkers everywhere. Aisles and rows of all kinds of wines from everywhere one could think of. And TONS of spirits as well. Honestly, the Toys R Us of alcohol, for adults only. Blown away, can you tell? You even have snacks (peanuts and munchies of that nature), candy, and anything else that goes well with alcohol, like cigars. When I say you thought of it all, you truly did. There was even a package of plastic cups that came with 2 ping-pong balls, making it easy for Beer Pong-playing people everywhere. Good times. A friend of mine from Chicago highly recommended a Michigan-brewed IPA called Two-Hearted Ale. I found out online that Total Wine & More had this item at the Falls location but that the inventory was low. I looked high and low in the IPA section for it but could not find it. It took about 10 minutes before I could finally get someone to assist me. This gentleman managed to find the last 12 pack virtually hidden from view way back on a shelf! Since it was almost St. Patrick's Day, I decided to get Guiness Dark, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Jameson whiskey for my Irish Car Bomb recipe. I was not happy with the prices. I also purchased a 1.75L of Tito's vodka, and a 750 ml of Casamigos Tequila and found the prices of those two items to be fair and competitive. At checkout, the cashier wasn't discourteous, but she just seemed like an unsmiling ice queen calling it in. I'd come here again for a specialty item again, but for everyday purchases I prefer Checker's for it's prices and customer service and relations. read more

"A know-it-all wine snob can ruin a wine experience by forcing the "right" agenda down your throat, along with the "right" wine. Wine is one of those things about which some people obsess the arcane minutia. Snobbery is when that obsession bleeds into casual social circumstance. We've all been to a party where a wine snob is talking down their nose at the complimentary 2-Buck Chuck. Their condescending words spewing forth from their mouth like vomit, pushing amiable party-goers into reluctant participants in a one sided debate. If smartypants wine connoisseur won't shut up, there's a chance they know something. Ask them questions about what you're tasting. They might be able to point out some interesting characteristics that round out your experience of the wine, such as "this wine was grown with unicorn blood, you can really taste the copper". You may not taste the same things, you probably won't, and that's ok. Maybe just by paying attention they will feel validated and calm down a bit. Wine snobs are notoriously insecure, your patience is appreciated." Wether you are a wine connoisseur or not, you'll find a large quality of wines here from all over the world. Probably one of the largest stores just for wines. If the one is not available they will order It for you. And always remember wine perfection is only the perception if your palate. I still think it's ridiculous. I went with my 28 year old boyfriend to buy some specific ice trays. Before we entered he had let me know he had forgotten his wallet at home but I told him we were not buying alcohol so it should be okay. Nope. They did not allow us to buy them. It's a good place to come when you need to buy gifts and don't want to settle for the wine bags (or even the wine/beer selection) they have at other grocery stores. The reason for my lack of stars is because they were super rude. Wow! I always wondered why I see Total Wine Hiring and I figured it out when I arrived at THIS total Wine! The amount of RUDE staff here is unbelievable. Let's start with mananger number one dark hair guy just the attitude ALONE is enough. Mananger number 2 the women (Spanish speaking) long dark hair has NO customer service what so ever! Completely rude as I asked and waited for my order like I was a BOTHER to her! And Then the most disrespectful employee yet SHELIA OR SHEA ? I believe that's her name....she was the women with glasses blonde ponytail at the tasting booth all night on Friday 11/16. I witnessed her rude and disrespectful comments to customers the majority of the night. I asked for tastings and tried to make conversation and it was a BOTHER TO HER to even talk or answer. As I wanted to try different kinds she asked "do you still have your cup" ? I'm not sure who wants to mix red and wine and eggnog but I don't so that was a BOTHER to her as well to give another sample cup! Isn't that the point?
