It's been a while since our last visit to Atelier Monnier - Pinecrest, and we decided to stop by for some takeout desserts after lunch. Everything was absolutely delicious, just as we remembered! I loved the chocolate dessert and the tiramisu--both were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. My wife especially enjoyed the passion fruit dessert, which had a wonderful sweet and tangy flavor. The owner is still as warm, friendly, and welcoming as ever, making every visit a pleasant experience. It's always nice to support a local business that consistently delivers high-quality pastries and excellent customer service. We'll definitely be back again! Over the years, I have always purchased my croissants from this establishment and was very impressed. However, today I ordered four croissants and I must say that the chocolate in the chocolate croissant was not present at all! I would strongly recommend to keep quality and consistency. There must be more chocolate inside the chocolate croissant, especially for the price that we pay. I hope the owner reads this so that he can evaluate a little bit more closely the product. If the chocolate croissants would be more on point, this would definitely be a five star rating. The coffee and the rest of the food was great. Also, the customer service is exceptional. This place had a nice selection of goodies and wine. There was a lot to look at. I wished the atmosphere was decorated with more french decor and had a few comfier tables. But the food was pretty good! I like how alot of the croissants come with the option of getting them mini size. I had a mini ham and cheese croissant and a mini chocolate almond croissant. I got it delivered, so I can't comment on the ambiance of the location. The service was excellent. The girls did everything to please me. Unfortunately the Croque Monsieur is cold and then heated up in a microwave. It was initially served whole and it was cold in the middle of the sandwich. Once heated again, it was returned cut in half and still a bit cold in the middle. The edges became hot and hard. The béchamel in the sandwich was overly seasoned with nutmeg. The almond croissant was cold (maybe out of the refrigerator) therefore the pastry was gummy and not flaky. Nothing was fresh, which was very disappointing. My expectations were higher for a French bakery. I ordered a multigrain baguette to take home (I will find out soon the outcome). I've always loved this one stop shop. They sell all kinds of excellent wines, there's a coffee bar and a gelato bar. There are cakes, macaroons, fresh baked, croissants, quiches, and other breads and pastries. You can order your food to go or there are a few little tables where you can sit and have your food brought to you. They also have a small variety of sandwiches to choose from. Excellent and fresh. The cakes are always perfection. Surprisingly the gluten free ones are the best ones, and I have yet to find it's equal in Miami. Instead of downgrading their sponge cakes with GF flour, they use nut flours to elevate the flavor and texture. Well done all around. read more

This is the kind of place you want to take your time to explore the world of options that they have available, but also lens itself to zipping in for a quick bite during a lunch break. The staff is courteous and bilingual, which was a pleasant and welcome surprise, and was greeted as soon as I walked in. There are comfortable seating areas and a plus is that no matter where you choose to rest, there is no blank boring wall to look at. The layout of the store and sure that no matter where you look, there is plenty to keep you engaged and entertained. Tip: I eyed a Saint Honore treat when I first walked in and made sure I paid for it and had it boxed ahead of time to ensure it would be there when I left. Food is good but far too expensive. I ordered 2 mini quiches and 2 pastries with a cappuccino to for $31, plus the request for tip on the tablet. I try to tip generously wherever I go. But if I'm picking up myself, the tip should be totally my option. The service was also not so good, I stayed waiting for a while until someone came to offer me help. 1 of the best croissants I've had, almond croissants. Great size for the price and they're fresh and can be warmed up. They have a variety of breads and croissants, along with other options in their bakery. They do have breakfast options but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I'm only rating their croissants, which I purchased the Nutella, Almond and regular croissant. All 3 go well with some coffee. In addition they do have some gelato options and the passionfruit was delicious, took a pint to go. It's a small place so not a ton of seating but a great place to have some morning coffee and pastry. read more

I'm actually sad to write this as I have always loved this cafe. Today's 1 star has to do w this one occurrence but sadly I feel like it might happen again if I got the same person which makes me hesitant to order again. The sandwich was absolute mess to eat. For one it looked like the ingredients were slapped on , just pouring out from the sides, no care on how it was transported. Just thrown in box. now I'd never complain about extra ingredients but this was not it. The cheese was falling out of every bite and mind you, I've had this sandwich before, exact same request. honestly, it was a hot mess, and sadly I could not enjoy it. I truly was craving it and utterly disappointed. And what's worse, my usual pastry, was stale. Why In G*ds name would you give out stale. You can't do that with high butter or oil content. for the first time , it was seeping thru the bag. Please I hope this was a one time occurrence, but if not, please don't take it out on the sandwich. There's a reason crucial conversations exist. Be well, both mind , body and definitely spirit. Everything is so incredibly delicious from this place. I've been a few times and it never disappoints. The almond croissants are divine. Their so moist, on the inside its a soft almond dough with the outside being crunchy and covered in powdered sugar. The quiche is the best you will ever try. The physical location inside is a bit overwhelming, in terms of spacing, and how many products of wine and other items collected around the store. They do not have a full kitchen to make breakfast. They only have the pastries and sandwiches in the glass displays upon walking in. They have options for your coffee preferences! *Regular milk / *Oatmilk / *Almond milk And they have honey and other sugar alternatives that the customer can add themself once the coffee is given to you. Ordered (they warm it up in their oven): *Ham and Cheese croissant, 5 stars - great flavor and texture *Veggie croissant (eggplant), 4 stars - great flavor, the egg plant was still cold in the middle, it should have been left a bit longer in the oven and on a lower temp. Over the years, Atelier Monnier has been my go-to place for birthday cakes to impress and diet breaking-worthy croissants. They have always been excellent as well as the service. Today I went there to purchase a cake for a birthday. This review is for the service and products I purchased today. When I entered, one of the ladies at the counter asked if she could help me. I asked the price of one of the cakes and after answering me, seemed a bit put off that I was asking and began to look away from me the remainder of the transaction. I told her I would like the cake and a croissant. She rang up the order and it wasn't until I added a gratuity on the order that she became attentive to say, "Thank you. That was nice". When I got home to inspect the cake, it was disappointed to see that despite having handled the cake with great care that it did not have the same appearance as in the shop. I am saddened that I have to write this review. I have been a customer of Franck Monnier for over 10 years and wasn't thrilled when he sold the shop. As it's my understanding, L'Atelier Gourmet still supplies the shops with his amazing French pastries, so I have continued to shop there. They have the best almond croissant, a fabulous pear & almond tart and excellent macarons. Yesterday, we went by to pick up a tart for a lunch gathering and the man attending to us, who was not very friendly, reached into the refrigerated case and pulled the tart out with his hands directly touching it, didn't even bother to put on a glove. I was appalled and simply walked out the door. After this experience I doubt I'll return, at least not anytime soon. The smell when you walk through the door is completely off putting, like a panini press with burnt cheese that keeps being reused. Completely disappointed. read more

My husband and I came for their wine and food pairing tasting on a Sunday afternoon. William was our knowledgeable sommelier, who explained how to pair wines with certain foods. I learnt a lot. Beautiful store located in Pinecrest. We ended up buying two bottles of red. We also got to sample some of their pastries and cakes which were paired with their wine choices. We've been here for dessert several times, I've enjoyed the pastries that we've ordered. I have 4 stars because they don't carry a wide selection of desserts and the seating inside is very limited. Cute French bakery with a nice selection of pastries, sweets and wines. Prices reflect higher end delicacies, and greater quality of food ingredients. If you really put thought into it, prices of the pastries are actually about the same as some of the large coffeehouse chains, but taste and quality is so much better. Our favorites are the Almond chocolate croissants and the Macarons. They are indulgent and absolutely delicious! Service is usually friendly and professional. I walked in and was actually excited about having a French Bakery in my neighborhood. The smell was fantastic, things looked yummy! Until the guy who helped me was the RUDEST ever. I would love to come back and try their food and wine tasting as well as their desserts. The customer service was awesome, and felt very genuine. I been coming here for years to get the mini almond croissants they are some of the best around the area and the chocolate almond mix also great and this last visit I tried the dulce de leche and wow it was perfect crunchy flaky outside holding its shape as you cut it in half, not greasy at all. After seeing a picture of a mille-feuille posted on Yelp, I was magically transported to Atelier Monnier. Not an easy trip though. The GPS cannot point out the correct location. Tip: remember the key words in the address, Dadeland Plaza. I am guessing the name Atelier Monnier is an indication that French is spoken here, nonetheless I was surprised when I opened the door. After a quick glance, I noticed on the dessert display the last mille-fueille waiting for me, so I called it like I saw it. Let me have the last mille-fueille. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, and I was the only customer. I stroke a conversation that translates to this: French guy born in Toulouse, moved to Miami, spends everyday at the bakery. Belgian girl, likes American music, knows enough Spanish to understand and pronounce "cortadito" (and make a kick ass one), spends everyday at the bakery. The owner (or manager) came up after a minute. He seemed pleasant, and was intrigued that "la langue française" was flowing freely. After a long talk I grabbed my coffee and my mille-fueille and proceeded to put it apart. It was the only way to eat, a fork would smush everything. My method was the following: break a piece of dough, grab a little cream, repeat over and over. Delicious. If I consider this pastry as one of the hardest to make successfully, this is success. I was glad it wasn't covered with icing but just a sweet shiny glaze. The cream was so good I was thinking of Mascarpone cheese less the cheesy/sour milk taste. Next the macarons, the staple of the bakery, an answer to the cupcake-mania. I haven't been able to figure out how they are made, but they seem to be made like a meringue, although infused with flavor. Two macarons are held together by a paste, depending of the flavor you order. I went conservative with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. Addictive. Lastly, I tried a croissant, because I believe that if you are a good baker, you should be able to turn a bar of butter into a great croissant. Atelier Monnier delivers a pretty good croissant that is fresh, soft, slightly sweet and tasty. Good job. After this visit, I just can't wait to go back. I love breads, and when I arrived only baguettes were left. I am a fan of French patisserie, but I am the biggest fan of French breads. Wow! What is it about French pastries that make my tush SO happy for joy and my mouth water??? Isn't the word Delicatessen French after all? Well, my friend Ivette told me about this little piece of heaven. So, on a bright Sunday morning, we dragged each of our 8 yr old boys to this French Bakery. Of course all they wanted for breakfast was a chocolate eclair and being that I wanted my son to experiment and enjoy the experience, I threw in the towel and let him have it along some chocolate milk! Yes not the healthiest of breakfast for a growing boy, but if you know me at all , you know that I am a stickler about eating fruits and veggies all week long! Well, needless to say, the boys enjoyed their eclairs! I chose the chocolate croissant and i hesitated because I already have a place with my all time favorite croissant. But lo and behold, alas, this was one for the goddesses! This croissant was not only the size of a burrito but hmmm hmmm delicious! I'm so elated now I don't have to drive all the way to Las Olas to get a delicious croissant! It was flaky but soft, sweet but not overwhelming. I believe it was dark chocolate as I didn't feel the effects of my lactose intolerance after.... The coffee was good but nothing to rave about. But everything else looked delicious...I can't wait to go back and indulge some more! Heck this place don't need more stars but here they are. They so deserve it. I first knew about this place at a farmer's market, but it was a long while before I finally found myself at the store. I've visited a few times since, and every time I was greeted with stellar customer service. They always seem to have some macaroon samples ready for asking (don't be shy - they don't have them out on a tray but usually they do have some cut up pieces available.) Everything looks so delicious and beautiful. All their croissants are excellent, from the plain to the almond to the portabello. To call the Croque Monsieur a ham and cheese sandwich is gross injustice. I usually take home a loaf of baguette or some other bread with me. The staff will gladly warm the pastry for you if you're eating in. I have yet to make my way through all their desserts, so I can't say yet which one is the best. They have an ice cream and sorbet case that even feature lychee flavor! The coffee they use is from Panther, a local roaster. The light wood table and bench, the chairs, the wine shelf, all make a very inviting environment. Hmm... do I have any complain?
