I had such a great stay here and the amazing staff was such a significant part of that experience! When I arrived it was only around noon, so I planned on just dropping my bags because I didn't anticipate that my room would be ready early. But to my surprise, not only was my room available to check-in early, but I also received an upgrade to a suite. Naturally, this kicked off my stay on a gratitude high! I had no idea how large the property was (I believe 38 acres) tucked away in the heart of West Hollywood. From the outside, you would really have no idea that there was a beautiful koi pond, gardens, a pool, restaurant, bar, villas and who knows what else I may not have seen. My suite was huge and nice, but nothing too fancy. There was a minibar and an open "kitchen area" extended as part of the living room as well as a little balcony outside of the bedroom (unfortunately no view.) The bathroom was huge however and my bed was one of the most comfortable I had slept on as among my third hotel stay during a stretch of travel. There were TVs in the living room and bedroom and overall, just so much space to spread out. There were also plenty of outlets by the bed (which I so appreciate) and overall my stay was very peaceful. Whenever I had to have something delivered, the concierge was great about managing that and the doormen were always so nice. In general, the whole front desk staff were just absolutely kind, amazing and really made my stay feel extra special! Will definitely book here again in the future after a really wonderful visit.

My wife and I stayed at the Sunset Marquis for our anniversary in August. What a local gem! The grounds are beautiful and our room (128) was absolutely perfect. The restaurant was very good as well. The rock art and photography throughout the property and the rock photo studio are the perfect touch. We walked to The Rainbow Bar & Grill and also to a show at The Whisky a Go Go. We'll definitely be back to this Hollywood icon just off the Sunset Strip!

I had the pleasure of spending two amazing nights at Sunset Marquis! From the moment I arrived the staff made me feel like a rock star! A special shout out to Front Desk Staff and Concierge Staff they made my stay extra special. Sunset Marquis is a hotel that truly understands what hospitality is all about. My room was well maintained and very spacious. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the music memorabilia is museum quality. A stay at Sunset Marquis is a very special experience.

This review is for the valet + spa + garden space I was here for a spring equinox soundbath experience put on by @walkgoodla When I arrived the front desk staff welcomed me and directed me towards the spa. Then I realized I had forgotten my yoga mat after already leaving my car with the valet... but they quickly and kindly helped me retrieve it. When I walked the path to the garden space there were so many flowers blooming it smelled like Freesia and jasmine and gardenia. There was a pond filled with pretty fish along the path. I was offered chamomile fennel tea and settled in for the breathwork + spring equinox sound bath. I received the 24k gold ear-seed treatment from CJ in the spa. She explained the different ear pressure points and gently applied them to my inner ear. It's impossible to articulate how lovely this entire experience was felt afterwards because it's so subtle but noticeable. I arrived stressed and foggy and left completely blissed out and clear. I didn't consume any altering substances or alcohol at this event but I felt like I did! The spa offers sound healing as a part of their massages so I will be back for more of this for sure! If you're in town visiting + staying in this hotel missing the spa would be a huge mistake.

I must be moving up in the world. The last time I stayed in a hotel in WeHo, it was at the Best Western Sunset Plaza for less than $100 per night (review: https://bit.ly/3phXif9). It's still there. However, Jamie W. and I decided to be like George and Weezy and stay in a deluxe hotel not in the sky but on Alta Loma Road right off Sunset. The Sunset Marquis is definitely upscale, but we found it surprisingly chill. It was apparently a cheap motel for broke musicians back when it opened in 1963. Its musical legacy remains today as the public walls are decorated with framed photographs of famous musicians (photo: https://bit.ly/43XKcT7). There's a huge mural of Willie Nelson overlooking the main swimming pool (photo: https://bit.ly/3r7t0fk). We reserved a Standard King Guest Room for $392 per night for two nights. They put us on the second floor of the main building, and our room was spacious and surprisingly quiet considering it was Pride weekend in WeHo (photo: https://bit.ly/3pmTGIC). They also offer far pricier suites and villas surrounded by lush SoCal-style foliage, and we were able to take advantage of the hidden second pool which had its own bar and young bartender. Don't worry. We were allowed. The lobby art gallery was filled with cool, expensive celebrity photos, and we had a fine dinner on our first evening at their al fresco restaurant, Cavatina, under a portrait of Aretha Franklin (photo: https://bit.ly/42VsG0J). The hotel's prime location meant the trendy and not-so-trendy restaurants, bars, and stores on both Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards were mere steps away. This is the accommodation you deserve in LA. RELATED - Exploring LA? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2TWT63v

This is my home anytime I stay in la. I've been coming here for over a decade. It's close to little boys town-weHo-santa Monica so walking distance to dispensaries, famous eateries and chill vibes. The hotel hosts a recording studio, two pools, a decadent restaurant that serves salted warm gooey chocolate chip cookies to your room! Everyone is more than helpful. Jorge the valet always takes care of me and all my guests cars. And every single hostess at cavatina has helped take pics with perfect lighting. This place is pricy but the service is unparalleled and the food is good. I will be back again like always!

Honestly one of the best hotel experience I've had in a long time, which is saying a lot because I get to travel alot. Spoiled me! Everything about the experience checked all the boxes. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Classy. The rooms are gorgeous, understated elegance. You can tell the place is newish. The service is amazing. Everyone from the front desk to the valet to the hotel restaurant are kind and helpful. As others have mentioned, the courtyard, outside space is beautiful. A classy, almost Italian country feel. Big white leather booths that are lovely to lounge in, whether to eat, have a glass or wine, or just hang with a book. We just loved the restaurant at the hotel. We accidentally stumbled once we got there into their Happy Hour (so lucky) which was amazing. Besides the beautiful outdoor space under the trees, hey they had delicious drinks and amazing food on the happy hour menu! We had the truffle French fries, beef skewers, green beans and then a Caesar salad with added chicken. All was great - specially loved the fries and salad (the added chicken was juicy and delicious). We enjoyed our experience SO MUCH we went back for dinner! That's how good it is! Sat by the outdoor fireplace - very romantic - and had an equally lovely late night dinner. Burrata and tomato, shrimp appetizer and our favorite rigatoni I believe with a creamy pesto sauce. So yummy! The location is great. Earlier that morning I had met friends at the corner of Sunset and Highland to march in the LA Pride. The Hollywood Bowl is an amazing place to enjoy a picnic, wine and cheese spread while enjoying beautiful music... The hotel is just across from the Farmer's Market, where we went for two extraordinary meals- an Italian restaurant that was delicious and breakfast at DuPars which lived up to its hype of Esquire magazine that said their pancakes were the best in the world. Earlier I had to run to Target. My boyfriend walked a block away to Trader Joes. Everything you need and more is a short walk. We didn't go this time, but Canters is also up the street. My go to place for matzo ball soup late night while I was in college. As I said, this place checked every box. Oh - haha - I should mention the price was so reasonable for the quality of the experience! They also are pet friendly too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! WE WILL BE BACK!

Fine. Bed sheets and comforter have stains. Ok.. it happens .. whatever.. but even all bath towels have stains.. that's unexceptable. So I called the front desk to ask for new bath towels, waited for an hour.. didn't come. Called again waited another 30 mins, still never come. On the check out day, one of the staff was banging the door when I was in the shower. Which was ridiculous because I talked to the front desk the night before that I am going to have late check out. I was rushing to wear my clothes to answer the door, and realised he already opened my room door. Which means, luckily i was dressed.. if not, he would see me naked. And I feel this is super disrespectful! Why would u open someone's door without permission? Then the whole conversation he was so rude, with an attitude, said I didn't have late check out, late check out is not guarantee and only gave me 10 mins to leave the room and will have penalty. I was shocked. At the end when I check out. I was asking for the staff's name who is kicking people out. And the front desk was trying to cover up for him and said they don't know who that is. I am like.. Come on, how could you not know your coworker's name? So they finally gave me a name " Johnathan" which I don't know if they made it up or not. But anyways, this is the experience I had in this hotel. Definitely not recommend this hotel because of the service and cleaningness for this price.

According to their website, the hotel has been designated with a Michelin Key. -Ambiance: Vibrant colors paired with elegant design elements throughout. The lobby and courtyard are especially stunning. -Design: Thoughtfully designed spaces, including a courtyard with cushioned seating, a fountain, and two gas fire pits--perfect for relaxing. -Location: Conveniently within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd. -Upgrade: We were upgraded at no additional cost--a pleasant and unexpected surprise. -Fun Fact: A reality show I watch, 90 Day Fiancé on TLC, filmed at this hotel--and coincidentally, we stayed in the same room. How cool is that? Feedback: -Provide additional waste receptacles in the lobby and guest rooms; currently, there is only one in the bathroom. -Consider switching to key cards instead of manual keys for added convenience. Helpful Info: -Complimentary Breakfast: The website description is misleading--breakfast is only "complimentary" if you pay a $30 service fee, which is actually tied to internet access. Worth paying the service fee if you need reliable internet. Our connection in the room was spotty--we had to step outside our room to get a stable signal. -Phone Coverage: Staffing is limited, with one team member often covering multiple roles (front desk, valet, driver, breakfast prep). As a result, calls may occasionally go unanswered. -Parking: Valet parking is available on-site for $45 per day. -Accessibility: The property has only two levels and no elevators, which may be challenging for guests with mobility concerns. Final Verdict: Highly recommend based on the stellar customer service, prime location, and beautifully designed ambiance.

It is situated literally next to the Sunset Tower Hotel which is a celebrity hotspot and extremely expensive. The shower was also excellent (except the body wash in the wall dispenser was empty--hey, it's a Best Western, did you expect perfection?). There is a free continental breakfast and it is fine. The pool is good-sized but there were no towels available when we arrived. Again...this ain't the Beverly Hills Hotel. The self-parking garage is on the other side of the property and is connected to the hotel. Be aware: some rooms, like ours, overlooked Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard is extremely loud, especially at night. If that may disturb you, ask for a room facing the other way. Unfortunately, the worst thing going for this hotel is the clientele. Yes, this is a budget hotel chain but the prices you pay at this particular spot are far higher solely because of its location. Sadly, some of the guests were incredibly noisy and rude and apparently, smoking at the pool is perfectly acceptable. I could give other unfortunate examples.
