This is a cute little hotel that is on a quiet, suburb-like street. It is still close to all the action and yet feels like an escape. The rooms are well-decorated, equipped and definitely big. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Everything is a bit over-priced but all tasted delicious. Evan was our server for breakfast and was really great. I forgot our night servers name but he was super friendly too. The gym was great - it had everything! My only complaint is the breakfast was not included for guests.

Cute spot to stay at, Staff was friendly only downside is that the elevators take forever and I believe one of them was broken. Besides that it was a great spot to stay at.

Bar menu - since it's unavailable on their site.

I just finished battling the night table in order to charge my phone. It's the little things. The USB did not work but the electricity Edison input right next to it did work. However, there's no actual space to stick your phone charger in there because it is so narrow between the bedside and the wall that the night table takes up 99% of the room and there is, nowhere to move the bed and nowhere to move the night table in order to make your charger fits and no other option to connect it anywhere else, that works. There's plenty of plugs that don't work, including the small light that's built into the headboard of the bed. Otherwise, the room is quite lovely, and very clean and does not smell bad at all. But I believe that the value is not good. The prices are extremely high for what you get. There's no bar or anything in the hotel. Dinner closes at nine and the menu is not available online on their website anywhere. When I called to ask what the menu was before I booked, a person at the restaurant said it should be on the website and if it's not then there's nothing he can do other than read the menu to me over the phone. He did not seem interested in doing that. I'm vegetarian so, it does make a difference, and I do check these things before I book. I actually live in the neighborhood and I am hosting my father and I am not feeling very well, I don't want to get him sick and this is the closest hotel to my actual apartment. The pool was small and the sitting area was nice but not awesome. the staff was very nice in general but at night it seems like there's one person that does everything if he is busy, there's no one to pick up the phone. Last thing is, there's no bathtub, it's a shower with not an amazing showerhead. The best thing about it is the size of the room.

if i could give 0 stars i would. the employees are so entitled and really rude. the manager of this hotel could not give a crap about the spider bite and the spider that was in my hotel room. there was multiple spiders but i was only able to capture a photo of one. it's honestly crazy how they could not issue a refund, offer a change of room etc. they just don't care, place is dirty, food was horrible. after multiple attempts of trying to give them the benefit of the doubt to make things right they just couldn't at all. i do NOT recommend this place and i will be talking to my lawyers about this issue. where there is ONE spider there is obviously MORE!!!!!!!!!

I had a wonderful stay at the Chamberlain Hotel. I booked the king suite which had a living room, desk area and two tvs. I was very impressed with my room. The mirror in the bathroom is incredible! It was like an Instagram filter. I'm buying one for my house. The hotel location is walking distance to Santa Monica Blvd and an easy walk to the Sunset Strip. Friendly staff. Very clean. Tens across the board!

Honestly one of the best hotel experience I've had in a long time, which is saying a lot because I get to travel alot. Spoiled me! Everything about the experience checked all the boxes. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Classy. The rooms are gorgeous, understated elegance. You can tell the place is newish. The service is amazing. Everyone from the front desk to the valet to the hotel restaurant are kind and helpful. As others have mentioned, the courtyard, outside space is beautiful. A classy, almost Italian country feel. Big white leather booths that are lovely to lounge in, whether to eat, have a glass or wine, or just hang with a book. We just loved the restaurant at the hotel. We accidentally stumbled once we got there into their Happy Hour (so lucky) which was amazing. Besides the beautiful outdoor space under the trees, hey they had delicious drinks and amazing food on the happy hour menu! We had the truffle French fries, beef skewers, green beans and then a Caesar salad with added chicken. All was great - specially loved the fries and salad (the added chicken was juicy and delicious). We enjoyed our experience SO MUCH we went back for dinner! That's how good it is! Sat by the outdoor fireplace - very romantic - and had an equally lovely late night dinner. Burrata and tomato, shrimp appetizer and our favorite rigatoni I believe with a creamy pesto sauce. So yummy! The location is great. Earlier that morning I had met friends at the corner of Sunset and Highland to march in the LA Pride. The Hollywood Bowl is an amazing place to enjoy a picnic, wine and cheese spread while enjoying beautiful music... The hotel is just across from the Farmer's Market, where we went for two extraordinary meals- an Italian restaurant that was delicious and breakfast at DuPars which lived up to its hype of Esquire magazine that said their pancakes were the best in the world. Earlier I had to run to Target. My boyfriend walked a block away to Trader Joes. Everything you need and more is a short walk. We didn't go this time, but Canters is also up the street. My go to place for matzo ball soup late night while I was in college. As I said, this place checked every box. Oh - haha - I should mention the price was so reasonable for the quality of the experience! They also are pet friendly too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! WE WILL BE BACK!

Fine. Bed sheets and comforter have stains. Ok.. it happens .. whatever.. but even all bath towels have stains.. that's unexceptable. So I called the front desk to ask for new bath towels, waited for an hour.. didn't come. Called again waited another 30 mins, still never come. On the check out day, one of the staff was banging the door when I was in the shower. Which was ridiculous because I talked to the front desk the night before that I am going to have late check out. I was rushing to wear my clothes to answer the door, and realised he already opened my room door. Which means, luckily i was dressed.. if not, he would see me naked. And I feel this is super disrespectful! Why would u open someone's door without permission? Then the whole conversation he was so rude, with an attitude, said I didn't have late check out, late check out is not guarantee and only gave me 10 mins to leave the room and will have penalty. I was shocked. At the end when I check out. I was asking for the staff's name who is kicking people out. And the front desk was trying to cover up for him and said they don't know who that is. I am like.. Come on, how could you not know your coworker's name? So they finally gave me a name " Johnathan" which I don't know if they made it up or not. But anyways, this is the experience I had in this hotel. Definitely not recommend this hotel because of the service and cleaningness for this price.

According to their website, the hotel has been designated with a Michelin Key. -Ambiance: Vibrant colors paired with elegant design elements throughout. The lobby and courtyard are especially stunning. -Design: Thoughtfully designed spaces, including a courtyard with cushioned seating, a fountain, and two gas fire pits--perfect for relaxing. -Location: Conveniently within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd. -Upgrade: We were upgraded at no additional cost--a pleasant and unexpected surprise. -Fun Fact: A reality show I watch, 90 Day Fiancé on TLC, filmed at this hotel--and coincidentally, we stayed in the same room. How cool is that? Feedback: -Provide additional waste receptacles in the lobby and guest rooms; currently, there is only one in the bathroom. -Consider switching to key cards instead of manual keys for added convenience. Helpful Info: -Complimentary Breakfast: The website description is misleading--breakfast is only "complimentary" if you pay a $30 service fee, which is actually tied to internet access. Worth paying the service fee if you need reliable internet. He would later open several other SLS properties, including one in Las Vegas (it's now the Sahara). Although he's no longer with SLS, there are still properties worldwide. This one is now part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. I believe it's the first North American hotel designed by famed French designer Philippe Starck, whose designs are always whimsical, eccentric, out-of-the-ordinary. I believe its uniqueness and iconic status is why very little has been changed regarding the hotel's design, and what has been refreshed has been clearly done with Starck's vision kept in mind. SLS itself was a complete gutting of the former Le Meridien Hotel. I took a look at my photos from my first stay before posting this review; they were taken with a digital camera, before phone cameras had good quality. The exterior, hotel lobby entry and patio, valet area and ground floor public areas (the dining space now called The Nook, the concierge desks, the foyer for the meeting rooms) are pretty much unaltered, although I don't recall the nearly full-size white horse wearing multiple strands of pearls with a lampshade on its head. The images in the elevators are unchanged. What is different here is the large entryway and outdoor lounge located behind the valet stand. This area has been closed since the pandemic, open for private events on occasion. Originally it was the entry to the large, highly acclaimed restaurant The Bazaar by Jose Andres, when chef Andres was near the beginning of his illustrious career. I remember this tapas-style restaurant was wildly popular and had several different dining concepts within. One of them was Saam, an exclusive limited-seating tasting-menu spot that later morphed into Somni. Somni reopened post-pandemic, without chef Andres, in another space in West Hollywood and now has 3 Michelin stars, helmed exclusively by chef/owner Aitor Zabala. I'd say the lack of a signature restaurant is one of SLS's shortcomings, especially considering its past. I noticed in my old photos there used to be a Morton's Steakhouse connected to SLS that's also now an empty/unused space. I would describe SLS's chief design components in 3 words: monkeys, mirrors, chandeliers. They are everywhere. But it's not a case of style over substance; service and amenities overall were good. The hotel overall skews dark. There's virtually no natural light in the ground floor public spaces, and the rooms also lack some light due to the smallish size of the windows. But they are definitely brighter than before. SLS has at least one interior courtyard; my room faced this way, as do any rooms with terraces or patios. I loved the often humourous lit panels that have the room numbers on them--animals or 17th century people with whimsical features and/or monkeys "graffiti'd" in. The room was pretty spacious. There was evidence of a past mini-bar, now just an empty fridge (which I prefer) and an empty drawer with space for "Saints" and "Sinners". There were 3 types of fancy glassware and in illy coffee machine. I remember the triangular-ish stainless steel sink and back-lit shelves in the bath. The best part was the A/C could be set below 65 degrees, which was essential during the heatwave that shrouded my stay. The layout of the rooftop pool deck is the same, although there are no longer huge framed mirrors and paintings surrounding the pools, allowing for more seating. There are 2 pools, one less than a foot deep, the other less than a yard deep. There's quite a variety of seating. There's a restaurant/bar here called LaDiDa that serves lunch and dinner and a weekend brunch they're really trying to promote. I did a lunch here; service was friendly but SLOW--servers cover the entire pool deck. The ground floor restaurant The Nook serves breakfast and lunch. If you have a breakfast plan like I did, there are quirky rules as to what you can order that aren't related to cost. On 2 separate occasions I ordered 2 cold beverages (instead of one hot and one cold) and a smoothie--they let both errors slide but was warned I was not playing by the rules. There's a automatic 20% service charge for any dining option at SLS, so service can be perfunctory, although always friendly. Just beyond The Nook is Sushi by Scratch, an omakase tasting menu for 10 people at a time, with 3 seatings nightly and one lunch seating on weekends. Aside from room service, those are all the SLS dining options. But there are oh-so-many dining options nearby, many walkable. And the hotel does have a house car, actually a large Mercedes bus that can hold at least 8 passengers. It's first come, first served. and only does drop-offs, not pick-ups. Overall a very nice staycation. It was like entering a time-warp into the past, but SLS's style is perhaps ageless?

Service was mediocre overall, especially the breakfast host…read more The hotel room was extremely noisy. There are six floors in total and our room was on the 4th floor, but we could still hear almost every car passing by outside. Also surprising for a Luxury Collection property: there were no vanity care amenities in the room. First time using an Illy espresso machine, usually I see Nespresso ones. Breakfast seating is quite limited. That said, the American breakfast was pretty good. The orange juice, the coffee was solid, and the mushroom and spinach sides were especially good.

My car was totaled, my apartment became uninhabitable, and my little emotional support animal, Rumi, and I suddenly found ourselves living in a hotel. I came here hoping for a safe place to stay. What I've found is so much more. Jesse and the entire front desk team set the tone from day one. Every interaction has been met with warmth, patience, and genuine kindness. They never treated me like a room number. They treated me like a person whose world had just been turned upside down. Olga is an angel. She didn't just clean my room. She hung up my clothes, vacuumed, made everything feel peaceful again, and gave me one of the warmest hugs I've had in a very long time. It may have been a simple act to her, but it meant everything to me. She reminded me what compassion looks like. Logan has been so kind in every way and he completely stole Rumi's heart. Every time he sees her, he surprises her with treats and makes her feel like the most important little guest at the hotel. Watching someone love my dog so effortlessly has brought so much joy during an incredibly difficult time. Robert at concierge has been lovely. I deeply appreciate the care that goes into every interaction. Jessica at the bar has always been warm, welcoming, and kind. Sometimes remembering someone's name, asking how they're doing, or simply smiling can change the entire course of their day. The team at Cavatina has been just as wonderful. Every single person I've interacted with has made me feel genuinely welcome. Their kindness isn't an exception. It's the culture. Thank you John for the incredible suggestions of food and wine. Over the past two weeks, I've been reminded that true hospitality has very little to do with beautiful buildings and everything to do with beautiful people. When your whole world collapses, you don't remember the thread count, the lobby, or the décor. You remember the people who looked you in the eye. The people who asked how you were doing and made you feel safe. Every single one of you has given me that. Thank you for reminding me that humanity is alive and well. Created an account via their website and booked a 1 night stay in the City King suite. $417 after taxes and including valet = $617. (Sat/Sun) LOVED their eco friendly vibe and thoughtfulness in the design of the property. Even down to the glass cups for complimentary water. Our room keys were wooden chips, the flooring material in the elevators were soft and cushion-y (so unique), real plants placed throughout the property- even in your room, free rides via their Audi vehicles (3 mile radius) and so much more. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in. Probably took no more than 10 mins. Valet was $75. Pets however stay for free! (So awesome) We ended up on the 10th floor and found a bottle of prosecco in the room to start the celebrations. The room was super clean, eco-friendly and the view was beautiful. Bedding was comfy and so was the additional couch in the room. Amenities were bomb and fridge options were too good! (Good brands) The lounge at check in was such a vibe with dim lighting. Sat there a few times (evening and morning) to just relax and enough the ambiance. Hotel was super lively with guests and community. There was a dj one evening and they seem to have a lot of wellness activities and offers which was nice to see. There's a breakfast spot right next to checkin (we didn't try) and a complimentary fresh fruit stand in the mornings. The architecture of the property is so beautiful and you can tell they really care for it (and the plants!) The grand stairs were my favorite be sure to take some pics in the evening - the glow is to good. Will definitely be back. I'm a fan!

Is this the "best" Best Western? Well, it might be. But it is still a Best Western…read more The location, smack dab in the middle of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, is incredible which is why you are not paying typical Best Western prices. It is situated literally next to the Sunset Tower Hotel which is a celebrity hotspot and extremely expensive. The Andaz Hotel is across the street and Saddle Ranch and the famous Comedy Store are maybe a one or two minute walk away. The room was very nice and the bathroom was good-sized. The shower was also excellent (except the body wash in the wall dispenser was empty--hey, it's a Best Western, did you expect perfection?). There is a free continental breakfast and it is fine. The pool is good-sized but there were no towels available when we arrived. Again...this ain't the Beverly Hills Hotel. The self-parking garage is on the other side of the property and is connected to the hotel. Be aware: some rooms, like ours, overlooked Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard is extremely loud, especially at night. If that may disturb you, ask for a room facing the other way. Unfortunately, the worst thing going for this hotel is the clientele. Yes, this is a budget hotel chain but the prices you pay at this particular spot are far higher solely because of its location. Sadly, some of the guests were incredibly noisy and rude and apparently, smoking at the pool is perfectly acceptable. I could give other unfortunate examples. So this pricier budget hotel still attracts a very budget crowd. Would I stay here again? If I wanted to be in this location without paying $500 or more a night, yes.

This was my fourth stay at Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel, and it just keeps getting better…read more The hotel was recently remodeled, and the transformation is beautiful. The rooms feel modern, fresh, and incredibly clean, with a cozy boutique vibe that you wouldn't normally associate with a Best Western. In fact, when you think of "Best Western," this is definitely not what comes to mind -- it feels more like a charming, stylish boutique hotel tucked right into the heart of West Hollywood. I stayed on the third floor with easy access to the backyard pool area, and it was such a relaxing setup. The little patio and pool space are absolutely beautiful -- peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the whole stay feel warm and inviting. They also offer breakfast, which is such a great bonus, and the manager is truly amazing -- welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring about guests' experiences. Even though there are much fancier hotels nearby, I would choose this one again in a heartbeat. It feels personal, cozy, and special. I'll absolutely be coming back over and over again.
