Great find in Beverly Hills. Hotel Beverly Terrace has quickly become my new favorite spot for overnight business trips. The location is perfect--right in the middle of everything with Rodeo Drive, great restaurants, and West Hollywood just minutes away. What really stands out is the value. You get a clean, comfortable hotel in a prime area with free parking, which is almost unheard of around here. The neighborhood feels safe and welcoming, more like a friendly residential pocket than a busy tourist zone. The staff is professional and helpful, and the whole place has an easy, relaxed vibe that makes business travel a lot more enjoyable. I have always wanted to stay at this hotel. And believe me I wanted to give it a five star rating. Because the hotel itself is so European feeling and very sweet. The location is excellent as it's right at the edge of West Hollywood where everyone goes to party and have dinner. I actually live in Los Angeles and I booked a night at the hotel because I was going to gay pride, which is one of the biggest in the United States, but apparently the hotel staff forgot about this event. When I checked in my room, there were long black hairs on the floor of my shower and I had not used it yet. So I called for Housekeeping to come clean it and the person at the front desk arrived with a spray bottle and two rags which did not delay my concerns on sanitation. He told me that Housekeeping had gone home for the day and it was only 4 o'clock in the afternoon. It seems to me that on gay pride weekend the Housekeeping staff should be doubled up, and not sent home early. This was shortsighted of the management. Anyway, the front desk clerk, cleaned my bathroom with what little cleaning supplies he had. And I appreciated it. The one thing I will say is that the staff was excellent. They worked there a little butts off to accommodate the guest on this crazy weekend. But they exceeded their limit. This would be too much for a hotel staff of twenty and here there was only one guy at the front desk for the entire hotel. There was no valet the day of the parade. There was no baggage claim so luggage was literally stacked up in the lobby to the ceiling. I will be back next year because I actually loved the hotel, the location and the staff. My husband and I stayed at the Beverly Terrace Hotel for one night as a little anniversary getaway--and a night away from our toddler . This was my first time staying at a Sonder property as a Marriott gold elite guest, but we decided to give it a try, and I'm glad we did. We completed all our registration and check-in details ahead of time, so when we arrived, we already had everything we needed and could just walk straight to our room. The location is tight, so valet parking is the only option, but that's fine with me since I usually valet anyway. The hotel itself is small but so cute, with a retro-boho vibe. There's also an Italian restaurant onsite that looked worth checking out if you're in the mood for a cozy dinner. As with most Sonder properties, the rooms are compact--something I already expected. Our room had just what we needed: a comfortable bed, a small table and chair, a TV, and a clean bathroom. Don't expect a big tub or sweeping views--this is Beverly Hills, where everything is close together. Our window actually faced someone's kitchen, which gave us a bit of unexpected morning music when they woke up. I thought it was funny that Sonder provides earplugs--cute touch--but we didn't end up needing them. We slept like babies after our night out in LA and woke up refreshed. Overall, it was a great stay and a fun first Sonder experience. I was unfortunately very disappointed with my stay. I was there for a medical conference and I chose the Sonder for its location and my trust in the Marriott properties. Unfortunately, I cannot say that this experience met the standards that I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Long story short, there were electrical problems (lights would not reliably come on) and there was never hot water in the shower so I was forced to take cold showers during my stay (two days), keeping in mind I was there for business reasons, specifically a conference where I needed to look professional. Despite service requests, nothing was addressed. I can't say that I would recommend this hotel, particularly because I have stayed at other hotels and/or Airbnbs for a lower rate and had a better experience. Aside from the location of the hotel and the overall appeal of being boutique, unfortunately, I cannot say that I had a positive experience. read more

had a lot of fun staying here over a weekend. it was doing a promotion, still expensive but i assime the price would be even steeper during the holiday season, but hey let's be honest we're paying the price for the location! It's a good place to crash if you want to do some barhopping in the West Hollywood area. it is just a few blocks away from the noisiest street and far enough so I slept OK. I had a few friends over to hang out at the courtyard in the evening and the staffs were nice enough to turn on the heater even though the restaurant that the courtyard belongs to was already closed. there was a huge jug of water at the corner of the courtyard, was not clear that if it is for the patrons lol. The room is small yes, but I do appreciate all the cute design details that they put in to make the room ergonomic and comfortable. I really like that lamp on the nightstand. A really nice rooftop lounge area on the third or fourth floor I forgot, great views of the city but you have to be careful, when I was there there was a lot of condensation on the lounge bed cushion so you better feel it first to make sure it's not wet before you sit on it and get your cocktail dress ruined. read more

No hot water in the sink! Tiny frig doesn't work! Electric socket doesn't hold a plug. Only on outlet works in the room. Head of the bed broken it knocks against the wall ever time I lean against it. We asked to check out one day early on our 2nd of 4 days. 2 days ahead of that night. The refused to allow it. So they got an extra. Day after we checked out. If we had seen the room before paying. BEWARE!! This 'charming' hotel was a pleasant stay for us on several occasions, until Sonder/Marriott took over. Due to the unrest in LA with Ice raids and all the protests, our upcoming work event was canceled, deeming it unsafe to travel here. Even with 72 hours notice, this hotel thru Sonder (some call center overseas) refuses to refund our reservation. They apologetically admit they are aware of the protests and lack of safety, yet they refuse to budge. As a Marriott reward member 15+ years, this lack of customer service is surprising and disappointing. Shame on you Sonder and Marriott. I will seriously be taking my business and pleasure travel elsewhere from here on out. read more

We only stayed here for 1 night. We were catching a show 9/1 at the Troubadour. This is a great place to stay if you're going to the troubadour (directly across the street) or any of the bars on the same street. The Beverly is cute, yes the rooms are small but they were cute and clean. we came across 3 different front desk staff during our stay ams all three of them were helpful and nice. they do have a restaurant on site that wasnt what we were looking for exactly but if youre into it try it. They do have a lounge upstairs that doesnt get started until 4:30 or 5 i cant remember. we had concerns about it getting to loud later at night but by the time we came back from our show it was over. overall id stay here again. read more

We booked our reservation weeks in advance to be close to our venue and literally hours before check in we get a generic email telling us it had been canceled. No reason, nothing. Took us forever to get ahold of someone as you can't actually talk to the hotel staff. The whole process took forever and they promised to finally issue us a refund for what we ALREADY PAID FOR and that someone (management) would call us in a Couple hours. However , they never did-no surprise. We STILL HAVENT GOT A REFUND this is absolutely criminal. TBH I'm glad because after watching reviews the rooms are extremely small, disgusting and noisy. Never again, waste of time and money. I believe they simply wanted more money per night as the prices went up and they decided to cancel us literally hours before for a higher rate. What a bad experience. The rooms here are SMALL. I reserved a 1 bedroom, and the photo showed a living room and bedroom, but when arriving, it definitely was NOT the same room. The room was soooo tiny and the restroom was like a little closet. The door lock to my room stopped working during my stay, and took over 30 minutes to get into the room each time I wanted to come back. I decided, based on this, to get a different hotel since they said they were sold out and couldn't move me. I packed my stuff and left. Later, they offered me a 50% refund. Why do they think 50% discount is acceptable when I had to get another hotel room at a different place because their door lock didn't work? Very odd service for a hotel chain. Update. After reaching out to three people and messaging them on social media, they decided to issue full refund. Thank you Sonder team for helping to escalate the issue. read more

I've stayed in many, many hotels in my life, but never one as bizarrely anti-hospitality as this one. They've taken HANDS OFF to a whole new level. This reminds me more of a hostel than a hotel. But before I elucidate, let's discuss the PROS: If you're going to a show at the Troubadour or another nearby establishment, this is hands-down the best location in town. It took me three minutes to walk from my room to the Troubadour, right across the street. MY room was clean and neat. I cannot speak for others. Sheets appeared to be freshly-laundered. Front desk person Marissa was courteous and helpful. Valet parking: Carlos was great, took care of my car, and didn't make fun of it. Very reasonably priced when you compare it to other parking options in Beverly Hills. NOW, for the bad. This is a SERVE YOURSELF place. You are pretty much on your own. They have these little dressers in the hallway where you can pick up extra towels, soap, etc. Don't expect housekeeping to come by and fill stuff up. DIY all the way. Bring your own soap, conditioner, and shampoo if possible., The dispensers they have in the shower (no tubs!) are a joke. I couldn't get one of them to work at all and the other two barely managed a squirt or two. It's like they bought them at Dollar Tree or something. Note to hotel: Don't put crappy stuff in your rooms just so you can say "We provide toiletries." Not a good marketing tactic at all. No elevator. If you have heavy stuff, you are out of luck. If you have a bum hip like me, you are even more out of luck. Water: Filtered water only available in two stations. Had to trudge downstairs every time I wanted a fill up. NO MICROWAVES: There is a tiny little refrigerator, but no microwaves. I am on a special diet, and brought along pre-prepared meals I could heat up. I should have asked about microwaves. Although the front desk heated up some food for me in their employee microwave, in busy season they probably wouldn't have time to do so. Plus, I like to make tea at night and a mic would have been nice to have. Do yourself a favor, bring along an electric kettle or your own microwave if you're traveling by car. Maybe a multi-pot. Hey! Make it a full-on camping trip with a Coleman propane stove. (Just kidding- don't burn the place down) No place to put your makeup and accessories. Room is tiny, bathroom is tinier. No vanity or available shelving for makeup and accessories. Very inconvenient when you're trying to get ready to go out. No place to sit other than the bed. Yeah, my room had a rickety table and a very uncomfortable chair. But not good for sitting for long periods. TV: If I hadn't had a Roku tv myself, it would have been difficult to figure out. I couldn't get many local channels. Bring your Netflix or HULU log in. You won't get those premium channels for free. Coffee maker! OMG! The only thing I ask for in any hotel is good coffee. Whether it is lobby coffee or room coffee. I don't like Keurigs except in desperate moments of caffeine deprivation. These aren't even genuine Keurigs, some kind of knock off. Mine didn't work right, and I had to hold it down to finally get some not-great coffee. I had brought my own pour-over rig and coffee with me but could not use them since there is no microwave to heat water. I wound up walking to Bristol Farms store (10 minute walk) where they have an excellent coffee shop that costs about the same as Starbucks but which I thought was much better. Still, good coffee in my room would have been awesome. Valet: Bring a spare set of keys with you, just in case. If you come during the valet's "off hours," and you need to get into your car for any reason, you may be out of luck. I suggest bringing a spare set of keys so you can get into your trunk. Or, if you have an early flight and have to leave before the valet arrives, you're screwed. Get some extra keys if you've brought your own car. If you have a rental, I'm not sure. Ask the rental company what they suggest. Better yet, tell the valet you MUST have your keys by a certain time. Maybe they can arrange to have them dropped off in the lobby. Key codes: Instead of giving you a chipped key you can just insert or wave to open your room door, you get an 8 or 9 digit code you have to enter every time. Also, since the lobby closes at 11PM, you need the code to enter if you stay out past 11. Here's the issue: Bring your reading glasses- the keys are small. If you've been having adult beverages and are a bit tipsy, it's not so easy to enter the codes at all. And no one is around to hear you scream... DO NOT GET A ROOM on the restaurant/courtyard side. There's a reason this hotel provides orange ear plugs- restaurants are noisy. The restaurant hosts parties. Drunks are loud, dishes clank, glasses break. Stayed here for two nights during Pride weekend in West Hollywood. It is the cutest boutique hotel I've stayed at! The outdoor spaces were adorable, loved that there was a restaurant on-site, and the staff was fantastic! Really easy to talk to everyone and overall, I felt very welcomed and safe. The room was smaller than expected but it was incredibly comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed + more. The code to my door didn't work at first but the team was on top of it and did not leave my side until the issue was resolved. Again, super well taken care of. The location was perfect for my needs as it was walking distance to food and entertainment. This was a really fun and relaxing trip because I didn't have to worry about anything during my stay here. This place is budget friendly but if you want to get a good night sleep, you might want to consider somewhere else. I got the room facing the courtyard which I thought it might be quiet but I came home one night at 11:30pm and there's a loud noise people are still partying in the courtyard from the restaurant downstairs. The restaurant set up tables in the courtyard so it's always loud when they open, especially late night when people are drunk they talk loud and the courtyard noise bounces. But no front desk to take care of them and it's midnight I almost call the police for noise complain. The room is small but that's all I need so I don't care, the window facing another burgling like 5 feet away so no view whatsoever. Bathroom is tiny. Suitable for one person using it. There's no late check out or early check in. When there's staff they are friendly, the valet is very friendly the guy at check out is also very nice to help storage the luggage when the online app said it's not available. read more

We have had a horrible experience with Sonder and will never be back to a Sonder property. After traveling 2,500 miles to a city we have never been to, we have been left without a room and basically told too bad. Awful! We booked a KING SUITE. And have the confirmation email directly through Marriott. Upon arriving to our hotel, we were given a king room with ONE bed for FOUR adults. The lady at the front desk, Gwen, was awesome and so so nice! She did all she could, but unfortunately she works for an awful company. After over two hours and 10+ agents later, they finally found us a room with two beds, for the first night only. The room right off the lobby and right on the main road. How peaceful, right? Marriott's suggestion was to pay an additional 2.1k for an upgrade at a different location. Or, drive almost an hour and only pay a couple hundred dollars extra for a two bed room. Now, after wasting our whole first day here, we get to get up in the morning and find a new hotel and start the process of hoping for a refund because there is NO possible way for them to get us a new room. We even offered to sleep on a coat, or split up into two rooms, but nope. A horrible experience and we will never book through Marriott or Sonder again. This hotel is excellent. Location could not be better, right next to South Hollywood at the beginning of Beverly Hills. Both areas are an easy walk away to restaurants and bars and famous sites. The walk to Rodeo Drive is like 20 mins while looking at some great mansions through a park along the way. The hotel and restaurant service is excellent, super friendly and always making sure nothing was needed. A nice surprise was breakfast in the courtyard which included coffee, pastries and other goodies. The courtyard is super nice with the perfect LA weather. Highly recommend a stay here and if you call them directly they sometimes give you a better rate. read more

Stayed here many times in the last few years and spent thousands of dollars and never had a problem until now. It is VERY clear the hotel cut costs and now has a 2 star quality at best. I spent $300 for a room, came back from a night out to find my code to get into the hotel doesn't work. There's nobody at the front desk overnight. After 30 minutes on the phone with Sonder customer service I finally got let in, and the worker just said "yea it happens sometimes". Um, what? I've had better customer service at a holiday inn and for half the price. Never staying here again and highly recommend taking your money to one of the many other better staffed hotels down the road that charge the same price or less. Cosy, clean and simple! It's a little run down, interior is old but practical, most importantly it's worth the price. The location is perfect, there's a tiny but tasty Italian restaurant on the premise. The best thing about this hotel is the small garden/ terrace in the middle, similar to a courtyard, it's modern, nicely decorated and you can hang out there 24/7. I'm here on business, so it's perfect with plenty of work space outdoors. Besides all the good things, service was just TERRIBLE! It ruin it for everyone. read more

I didn't stay here. I booked a reservation through their official website and then cancelled it before it was complete due to the incredibly difficult procedure encountered. After the reservation was booked, I was informed that it was still not complete and that I needed to validate my identity by uploading photos of both the front and back of my driver's license! Then I was supposed to have my computer's camera take video of me as I turned my head from left to right to get a "mug shot." I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in the US and around the world and never been asked to do more than show an ID and credit card at the desk upon check-in. This hotel is just trying to collect personal information on its guests and I'm not going to help them. If you want to be treated with respect, not suspicion, stay elsewhere. read more

I want to move here for a month. This quaint hotel has a European feel. I only stayed one night, had a room that opened to the courtyard.... went to dinner at the attached restaurant, great food and service. Ordered a glass of wine to take back to my room, and enjoyed the night. 2 ladies were drinking Champagne in the courtyard and their laughing added the charm of the place. In the morning, I was in a rush so just stopped by the continental breakfast... wish I would have actually sat down and enjoyed it. The chocolate croissant I got to go was unbelievably delicious! This is a hidden gem. I found out it's family owned, and I would much rather give my money to a family run business than a chain! I'll be back ;) read more

This was a huge mistake! What a terrible concept in a hotel. No service, no access to assistance- only a 800 number to call and complain. They don't even control the valet service they have - it's run by the attached restaurant and only open certain times! I almost missed an early morning flight trying to get my keys(it's the only way to park on the property)!!! The room was small and uncomfortable, no chair to sit except a small desk chair. No place to plug in your phone, computer, etc. There are no housekeeping on property for extra towels, etc. The towels they did provide did not smell clean. The liquid soap station in the shower didn't work. The only water available is a small water dispenser on the 1st floor with small plastic cups. No elevator- I don't know how they get away with that for people with disabilities- even the 1st floor is up a staircase. Additionally, the TV's don't work except for streaming on Roku???? You can't watch the local news!! The restaurant attached is very nice but only open from 5-10 pm. No place for breakfast or lunch - just bad coffee in the rooms with an antiquated coffee maker. This place reminded me of a bad European hotel. You can't even ask for Door Dash to bring you food without having to make arrangements to meet them out front. It took them 13 minutes to get through all the traffic out front even when you could see their car! Take my word, pay a bit more and get a real hotel! This one is cheap but you get less than you pay for! I sure hope this isn't the wave of the future in hotel stays! read more

We stayed at HBT for a quick weekend earlier this month. Pros: the actual hotel was clean, adorable, and in a wonderful location. The complimentary breakfast was AWESOME! We loved it! Cons: The beds were super uncomfortable and the air was really loud, so if you are looking for a good night sleep - look elsewhere. There were little fruit flies everywhere in the lobby/first floor. The staff itself were a little off-putting. They didn't seem to be prepared or professional, they didn't abide by proper information handling, as they were always away from the front desk (desk is very close to the door) and leave credit card and personal information on the desk and available to see. It seemed as if some employees were either drinking or hungover, leaving suitcases and purses sitting in the lobby without supervision. Either way, we will probably return but hopefully they improve customer service and security. I've been checking my CC info making sure nothing is out of pattern. read more

This hotel/motel is a nice little place. I enjoyed my stay. My room was very small. But, it was clean and well kept. There was a large screen TV mounted on the wall but I did not use it. The wireless was strong enough to allow Netflix use. The washroom was clean and functional. The pool area is a nice space for relaxing. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I booked through Orbitz and received my third night free. That made it $133 a night. For the location, that is an excellent price. Overall, this is a no-frills place to stay. Small but clean rooms. Very friendly service. Good value for the location. For me, it is a great place for staying while on a business trip. It might be a little tight in the room if there were two people and you were planning on spending time in the room. read more

The only pros - perfect location & very cute decor. Cons - 300+ a night room - was not clean. I've never stayed in a hotel room this dirty - even cheap motels have been cleaner. Ironic because when I rolled up at check in time the door was open and there were two employees standing there staring at the bathroom "checking it/doing finishing touches". The room reeked of bleach as well. It seems like an outsourced attempt at a hotel - often no one at the front desk. They also demanded a biometric face scan just so I could check in. The hotel is run down as well. Photos of the courtyard were also misleading and I suspect are from another hotel. To be fair they did refund my 38$ cleaning fee - but wouldn't stay here again. read more

Very European. And by European, I mean, it's a room to sleep in. Small enough that you won't want to spend a lot of time here. That said, you're on the cusp of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, arguably two of the coolest cities in Los Angeles. Grab a massage at the Gendarmerie, dinner at Bossa Nova, a drink at the Abbey, a show at the Troubadour. And you're still on the same block. That's a cool weekend by anyone's standard. The employees are friendly (though they shouldn't smoke right outside the front door), the continental breakfast is adequate, and the rooms, while small, are clean and modern. If you're going to see a show at The Troubadour this is the place to stay! It is literally right across the street! If you're just visiting the area for a short time and need a solid and somewhat inexpensive place to stay, this is it! Navigating the traffic to get to the hotel is crazy and be sure to keep watch as the hotel comes up unexpectedly quick on your right side and will cause a movie-stunt driving maneuver to get into the parking lot. Get there early and you'll have a good selection of spots under their covered car port. The lady at the front desk reminds me a lot of my third grade teacher, why that's relevant, I don't know, but she was pretty awesome. The layout of the hotel is interesting and has a neat retro feel merged with a little bit of Crate and Barrel catalog going on. We got lost going to our room and luckily one of the maids showed us how to get there. Sure the address is Beverley Hills, but don't be fooled. The room was rinky dinky but we were only there for an evening, and if you're staying there all you're doing is sleeping anyway. The bed was comfortable and everything was well maintained. The continental breakfast they serve pool side in the morning is fantastic. The coffee is to die for and if I could have I would have taken pounds of it home with us. We were very satisfied with our stay and the next time a concert comes through we will definitely be stopping for the night here. read more

My room was just one double bed with enough space to walk around the bed and a work desk, a small closet with a mini fridge, a bathroom that is big enough and well stocked enough to get done whatever it is you need to get done in order to be ready for an awesome night of partying. hotel has a nice small pool (havent seen anyone use it yet), some lounge chairs and recliners by the pool (they look comfortable but I have yet to try), a sun deck (which I have yet to visit, but definitely sounds very chique doesnt it?) location location location. past visits to LA, i've always stayed further away, i.e. near the airport, where price is low and quality is above par. Well, staying here, one wouldnt have to worry about geting pulled over with a DUI. the hotel makes great use of the space for what its worth clean? yes, the rooms are clean which is just as if not more important than location. read more

I didn't stay here... I met someone that was staying there for breakfast. I was surprised that my colleague would choose this place because frankly, it looks like a beat down motel on the outside... I kept thinking as I walked towards the "hotel" that I MUST have the wrong address. The inside is different - thank goodness. The lobby is very "boutique hotel" like. Staff was super friendly. There is a small computer off to the side in the lobby (maybe the "business center"??). There is also a really lovely courtyard area that leads to the little cafe/breakfast area. This was actually a pleasant place to have a meeting. My colleague didn't have a lot of nice things to say about the actual hotel rooms, but judging from the exteriors, I think you could probably find a LOT worse places to stay in LA. Enjoyed our stay here overall, but definitely can see why it would not be a good place for everyone. The great: -awesome courtyard/terrace which is a great place to relax, have coffee, read, do work, hang out, etc -pretty solid continental breakfast spread, including cereal, pastries, bagels, waffles, yogurt, coffee, assortment of teas, some fruit -location; in the intersection of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood; nice little walking trail nearby and plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants, bars The not so great: -rooms are tiny; it is true what other reviewers have said that if you have a courtyard room you can easily hear anyone walking in the courtyard -pretty pricey for the size of the room; depends on what you're looking for; we spent a good amount of time hanging out in the courtyard so it balanced out read more

We stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to LA. Great find in a great part of town with several great restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms are small, but for the amount of time you will probably spend in the room, it was comfortable. On criticism, and it's a small one, was that the pedestal sink offered no space to put any items needed to get ready. Loved being able to eat breakfast on the terrace and loved the overall decor of the place. Would stay here again. read more

I stayed at his hotel with my partner recently while working on Los Angeles Pride. It was our second time stay here. As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are small. We stayed in a room with a queen-sized bed and there was little room to skirt between the foot of the bed and the wall. The room was simply decorated with a small bathroom (though fair-sized shower) and a walk-in closet. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the courtyard and pool. The room was comfortable enough, though here were some inconveniences. I had to stand on the desk to reach the air conditioner located near the ceiling. The desk staff ranged from older ladies who were generally friendly and helpful to younger staff that couldn't seem to care less about assisting you (or even greeting you when you said hello). The cleaning staff, on the other hand, seemed generally diligent and kept the room clean and stocked with bath products. Parking at the hotel is limited and you may have to double park and leave your keys at the front desk if you return late in the evening. Despite the fact that this place has been described as a "boutique" hotel and "lavish", I would describe it as neither. The reception area and pool are decorated attractively enough, but the rooms are generally pretty dated and have few touches and amenities I associate with boutique hotels, which, frankly, can be found all over this area. Is this an alright place to stay a couple nights? Yes. Does it have the qualities that really make you want to return? Not really. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night, and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful attention to details with decor around the hotel. We enjoyed a covid-friendly complimentary breakfast in the most lovely courtyard, and everything was within walking distance. Our host, David, was our special treat for the trip, though, his customer service skills are those to set standards of. He gave us great food recommendations and offered to book us a reservation. We will visit again when given the opportunity :) read more
