To drink, I got the Spicy Cuke which came with a tajin rim & it was super refreshing, my friends got the Wildest Dreams and it was super light & fruity. To start we shared the Guacamole which came with tortilla chips and some sort of crema which was an nice addiction. When we finished the chips, but still had a guac left, they brought out more chips which was such a nice touch. For our meals, I got the carne asada tacos, as well as we got the fish tacos & the Cali Bowl and I really have no notes for any of the them! the tacos only had 2 in each dish but they were filled enough where it felt like enough food for a meal, and the bowl was large and a huge portion! We sat outside and while it was a beautiful day, the high top chairs were super uncomfortable, the actual seat was so small & they had no back, we found ourselves feeling pretty uncomfortable quickly. came here on a date with my partner and honestly such a good pick. we got the fish tacos, sunset roll, poke nachos, and the seasonal sangria and everything was a hit. the sangria is made with watermelon puree and it does not taste artificial at all like other places tend to do. it's light, sweet, and so refreshing on a hot day, exactly what you want when you're sitting outside. the fish tacos were really good, the fish tasted fresh and the amount was just right, not overpowering at all. squeeze of lime on top and you're set. the sunset roll was my favorite though, it's a spicy tuna roll and the heat really just comes from the jalapeño but i'm not complaining because it was a 10/10. the poke nachos are a perfect summer snack appetizer, they have cuts of mango and avocado with marinated tuna on top, really good. only thing i would say is i wish there was a little more of the spicy mayo unagi sauce and more tuna to nacho ratio but still really good regardless. The service there is decent, but we only saw our waitress a few times and had to order another item & obtain the check through the manager walking. we sat outside on the pier overlooking the boats and the view is gorgeous. like you're already eating good food and then you look up and you have that. really hard to beat. read more

Fantastic experience! Came for a friend's birthday, and our server was beyond kind to us throughout our time at Sunset Pier. You can't beat the ambience/view, and the drinks and food are done well, too! We each had different cocktails, all of which were so delicious and unique. Photographed is the Caesar wrap, which I requested with steak. PHENOMENAL. The steak was done well, but not tough at all, very easy to chew while eating the wrap. Came on a Saturday around 3p so not busy at all. We were sat outside but not asked if we wanted to be seated outside so it got very hot very quickly. The menu is a bit lackluster with not much variety. It'd incredibly overpriced for the amount of food you get. Tacos and baguettes do not come with any sides. $15-17 dollars for two small tacos is outrageous. They are also covered in cilantro which is not listed anywhere on the menu. $17-20 for essentially a small flatbread is also way overpriced. No sandwich or burger type options, your only handheld is a wrap with chips for minimum $18 if you want any protein in it. The service was very slow, my husband got his second beer after all the plates had been cleared. The waitress messed up the bill when split for who was paying for what even though we pointed and made it pretty clear what belonged to who. They made it difficult for themselves with however it was rung up in their system by not being able to split the tacos. Next door was much busier and I think I understand why. The view is nice with the marina but I wouldn't come back here. read more

I made a reservation for 7 a week in advance, including two toddlers and my older mom for a Saturday at noon. I specifically wrote low top table, no high top. We arrive at 11:50 and are told they cannot accommodate us because there are large parties coming in and we can only sit outside in the sun on a very high, high top table. Upscale spot for great water views and top notch cocktails, Sunset Pier is the place to be when the sun goes down. They do a great job of creating an atmosphere that brings in feelings of Southern California and makes you forget for a moment that you are in Quincy. Love the orange theme they had in all the decor and uniform to match the sunset theme. That said you'll find the drinks and food on the pricey side to match the experience you are getting. I did enjoy their non alcoholic low tide mocktail - one of the better mocktails I've had in awhile. Service is top notch. Our toddler was cold and they brought over a cozy blanket for him. All tables had a view of the water and when it is nice out, there is no better spot to be. It was a bit busy on a Friday night but we were able to get a reservation for 5. Met up with my high school classmate and her family for dinner. We chose your restaurant because of the view and sunset. Food was on spot but service could have been better. We had to ask a few times to bring plates/silverware/drinks. Not a big issue but something to work on for future. Your staff member, Mack, came out of nowhere and put smiles on our faces. Thanks to the "Shareable's" option, we were able to try out the four more interesting dishes. Mrs. Horne voted for the Lettuce Wraps and since the plate offered three, we each had one. We've been eating lettuce wraps for decades and no two restaurants make them the same. At Sunset Pier, they are light and fresh. There is a hint of curry and crispy garlic. It's all served on a perfect leave of Bibb lettuce. We first discovered blue cheese and steak pizza at The Mohegan on Block Island a few weeks ago so when we spotted the Black and Bleu we put in an order. You must visit Sunset Pier to try this dish alone. It's an artfully crafted flavor bomb with a perfect French Bread Pizza crust. There are cheeses at play here beyond the Blue. Likely mozzarella for texture and a hint of Asiago or Parmesan. There are no French Fries at Sunset Pier, but that's fine; instead, they offer an obscenely good smashed potato dish. This is one of the best ways to elevate the simple potato. The Harissa remoulade has a bit of a kick, but less than sriracha. Our fourth dish was also a no-brainer - lamb chops. If you were looking for a full dinner at Sunset Pier, you could certainly go to the lollipops and share an order of the potatoes. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better meal at a four-star restaurant. Every bite of every dish was mouthwatering and memorable. read more

When we arrived, we sat at the bar. Our bartender, whose name I can't remember (we were there on 8/9 around 2:30pm for reference), was awesome! Our drinks were great. I highly recommend the sunset spritz! We ordered the queso appetizer which was delicious, so we decided to order more. My husband was standing, so we asked to move to a table, and that's when things took a turn. It took a long time to be greeted by our waitress, and when she finally came to our table she was so unfriendly it made us uncomfortable. We ordered our meals which were brought out promptly. My husband loved his poke bowl, and I ordered the fried rice special with salmon. It was delicious, but I should have said no Fresno chilis and spicy mayo because it was too spicy for me to eat. I did ask for a box because my husband was going to eat it later. The waitress never brought me a box, and it took her forever to come over so we could pay. We gave up waiting on the box. If my rating was based on the bar service alone, this would have been a 5 star rating. I had to drop it because the service at our table was awful. The staff is made up of young people who don't know how to interact with the public. Meek, no eye contact, zero personality, slow (we're talking drink refills and time between contacts, not food delivery), and seemingly annoyed by questions such as, "could we have silverware and napkins please?" Thanks for the eye roll, but eating a salad with my hands wasn't really on my bingo card that day, nor ever. We ordered drinks, a bottled beer and a cocktail. Cocktail was clearly not what we ordered so we asked the waitress to confirm. She took the drink away and came back saying the bartender said it was the right drink. I didn't get my drink back, and whatever it was, it wasn't good. Ordered a new drink - the sangria tasted like cran grape with a 1/2 a shot of vodka. I don't expect my cocktails to be strong, I like them balanced. Neither were either, they were just lackluster. And the waitress was unhappy that I asked her for the drink menu again when I was ordering a new drink. We ordered fish tacos - came out the size of street tacos 2/$17 without a side - that's kinda boring - and a panzanella salad that was an arugula salad with tomatoes, pearl mozzarella, and croutons - not a panzanella. Both tasted fresh... but were nothing special (nor expected to be, for the record). The tacos arrived more than 10 minutes before the salad, however, so it made for us either eating separately, or the tacos getting cold. Also again, the tacos would have been easier to eat with a napkin. Food runner gal had a puss on her face that made us wonder what we did wrong, and all we did was reply to her with who had the tacos after she came to the table and said, "tacos?" We are guessing this place will stay alive just for location alone, but hopefully the staff grows into understanding how to communicate effectively with their guests, and make them feel more welcomed than we were. It's new so I get that, but service was a little slow. We got our meals before our drinks. Luckily our server was really nice. We had ordered the two specials of the day, so the pasta of the day and the other one was salmon with fingerling potatoes. The salmon came very rare, almost raw, sushi grade I assume. But that threw my husband off because he does not like sushi let alone raw fish. It would have been nice if we would have been asked how he wanted the salmon cooked, but when we mentioned it to the server, she said that the chef is very particular and doesn't like getting asked for things changed. They were very responsive, flexible, and willing to help make our vision come to life as we planned for the party.
