The first time I went here I thought it was ok. Fish was very good, chips were ok, but tartar sauce was not the tangy style I prefer. Couple of draft beers were flat. But since then, I've discovered their cheap beer for $4, which rotates, and had outstanding burgers, salads, and pepperoni pizza. Wife had a sausage and pasta dish she absolutely loved. It's loud in here, but the service has always been very good. When I got the side salad with the burger, in lieu of fries, I was really impressed. I moved my burger to a side plate, and the salad filled my main plate. Way more than simple greens. The pizza had lots of cheese and the pepperoni had just the right amount of crisp. Glad I returned. We've now tried Liberty in the Landing, too, which is similar, and closer to us, but this location is a good spot when we're meeting up with Quincy friends. read more

Our Braintree-based daughter recommended Liberty Tavern on an early Saturday evening. Familiar location on Hancock Street. We had a reservation and were seated right away on a nice large table for the five of us. Nice brick interior, a bit dark for my taste but I am old and couldn't see the menu too well, needed a cell light but super friendly server which always is a plus. Chose the Philly Cheese Steak and got the arugula salad which was fairly large for a side. Sandwich was also good-sized and I only could eat half but the other half made for a nice lunch the next day. Others were happy with their meals, I honestly forget what everyone ordered. First time at this place. I was in Quincy for business and this place had solid reviews so I tried it out and happy I did. I will say that I forgot to take photos. Parking is plentiful in a lot across the street. The interior space is large and nicely laid out to facilitate a comfortable experience. The bar was quite large and comfortable as well. That is where I sat. The staff at the bar were great. They were very friendly and made you feel at your regular place. They made some excellent cocktails. I had two Manhattans. They have a large beer selection as well that is heavily weighted with IPAs if you are so inclined. The food was very well prepared and tasty. I had the steak frites. My first time there....What an awesome Tavern with lots of TVs for Sports and a great layout . They had this delicious herb butter on top. The truffle fries were amazing. I swapped out the arugula salad for a grilled asparagus, which is also great. We got steak and cheese eggrolls as a starter me and my girl they were delicious and then she got French onion soup and mashed potatoes and everything they made was great. We sat at the bar. I tried this place while visiting a friend in Boston because the menu looked really good, and it did not disappoint. To start, we got the French toast bites, and this is exactly how appetizers should be: more than enough to share! The strawberry compote and fresh berries that came with it made this starter shine. For a drink, I got the S'more of something boozy iced coffee and I just love the creativity with all the names on the menu. They already have one called "Berry Demure!" Iykyk. The drink itself was very good too, but the brunch burger that I got was even better. For a burger with so many elements, it really delivered. From the glistening toasted bun, to the ooey gooey egg, to the bacon and beef smash patty and special sauce, this burger was a delight to have and perfectly made. This used to be another restaurant back in the day (actually several) until now. This is the perfect place to watch a game, meet with friends, and have a burger and beer. They also have a phenomenal brunch menu and offer lunch every day. They also renovated the inside and it looks spectacular. We came here on July 4th and had a lovely time and a fantastic server. We both had beer and I ordered their Liberty Burger w/ fries which melted in my mouth and was so flavorful. I very rarely order burgers but so glad that I did here because it did not disappoint. My hubby had their Fenway Franks which were also excellent. We also shared their popcorn chicken which came with 2 dipping sauces: BBQ and Buffalo. We ended up bringing home leftovers because we were way too full to eat everything. So glad that we have this restaurant in town because they are serving up (pun intended) some delicious food. I was visiting a friend in Boston, MA and I flew in on a Friday evening in search of some dinner. We opted for to go from Liberty Tavern. We ordered online and we were able to pick up within 20 minutes! One of us ordered a chicken sandwich and the 2 others ordered pizza and just wow. These pizzas are kind of like personal pizzas but depending on appetite could definitely be split or for one person! I got the pizza with sausage and peppers and it was stunning. Liberty Tavern was our go to Friday lunch spot when we lived in Quincy. We love their food so even though we moved to Marshfield, we have returned to Quincy for dinner at Liberty Tavern. The menu is a mix of pizza and American cuisine. Some of my favorites have been Liberty Tavern burger, Seared Scallops, and a fig and prosciutto pizza. The appetizer of Poutine Tots is pretty tasty too. There are creative cocktails and beers on tap - including a rotating monthly charity cocktail that gives a portion of sales to different local nonprofits. I highly recommend Liberty Tavern. We really appreciate this place as a brunch spot. The food is always great and we try to try something new each time. This time we got the street corn pizza which was excellent and the chicken and waffles was also delicious. The portion of chicken was just a little disappointing. A little more or bigger pieces would make this dish perfect. We did however end up here during a Patriots game, and I can say the audio was played just way wayyy too loud. We come here for a girls brunch often. They offer a bucket of bubbles, which are mimosas with several juices. Their espresso martinis are great~ they even put them in a cute little tree. Love the wood fired oven pizza, and breakfast poutine. Service is always great and efficient. It can be louder in this restaurant so don't expect a quiet meal. Cold fries needed to be sent back and breakfast burger roll fell apart from the egg and sauce. A couple of disclaimers. First, most of the recent 5-star reviews about this place are about their brunch. I went there for a late lunch around 3pm on a Saturday. Second, among the non-brunch 5-star reviews, people talk about their pizza. Unfortunately, I didn't try it. Third, people talk about their cocktails. I didn't have any of these either. So, this review is about the rest of the menu. Let's start with the service. Our server was nice, but the wait was a bit long just to take our order. One part of the problem is that they seem to have plenty of people who function as hostesses, and a good number of people who are waiting in the wings to bus tables. But in terms of servers who actually take food orders, well, there are a significantly smaller number of those. But the service was not the reason for giving this place just 3 stars. The problem is the food. The food isn't horrible, but it's not 5-star worthy either. The stuffed pretzels sounded great on the menu, and they looked great when they arrived. But the moment you cut into them, you realize that they're actually significantly resistant to being cut. The texture of the dough was gummy, and the taste was bland. We ordered the Liberty Burger, and it was okay. The fries were very good, but the burger itself was nothing memorable. The Cavatelli Al Forno was good, but it was a bit heavy on the salt. I kind of knew it while I was there because I drank a lot more water than I normally do at restaurants. But I didn't realize how salty it was until I returned home and a few hours later at some as leftovers. Then it was so salty that I immediately threw out the rest of it. One thing I never considered is the effect that noise has on taste. The place was noisy because it was crowded. And so because of that maybe it's tough to strike the right balance between adding enough salt to make the food taste great in a noisy environment while still tasting good when the noise level is lower. Finally, we arrive at the restrooms. With as many people clearing tables as there were, one of them should have been deployed to routinely clean the restrooms. To be honest, the urinals looked like they had been used by multiple people suffering from major hand tremors. To be fair, if you're looking for a place to go and get buzzed and have some bar food, this place will do just fine. And pretty much everyone else who was there looked like they were drinking a wide variety of beers and cocktails, so for the social aspect this place might be what you're looking for. But if your focus is on the food, then my suggestion is to try their pizza. The people at tables around us all ordered them, and those pizzas looked good. Again, the food here isn't terrible. But after seeing the cumulative 4.5-star rating of this place, I expected more. read more
