First timer at Sapori and we sat at the bar--far left, where you can see all the dishes come out of the kitchen (I wanted to eat all the things) AND directly in front of the big TV for soccer. Matteo tends bar and isn't intrusive. If you want more chit chat, you might not find it here, but the staff is friendly and respectfully distant but approachable. Food was amazing! Cocktails were amazing! I didn't photograph it all due to being so hungry, I forgot! The lemon drop martini is exceptional and none of that silly sugarcoated rim. My birthday dinner here was probably the worst I have ever had. While there seemed to be at least 10 employees walking around (or standing and looking at their phones) the bar area still had long waits. There is no reason to make a table wait 10 to 15 minutes to get their drinks when the bar is 50 feet from the table and we can clearly see there are 3-4 people behind the bar not doing anything. The food is not made upon ordering. I tried to order the penne vodka without the bacon in the sauce. I was told that "that's the way it comes." So it was pretty clear that the cook is not making any sauce when you order it. (This isn't a red sauce that takes hours.) The pasta is from a box so the prices that they charge for it are not justified. Overly loud Spanish love ballad music was playing at 5 PM in this nearly empty restaurant. Between that and the gigantic white feather decorations just over my partner's head I would say the vibes were off. My partner had seen this restaurant while walking around and thought it could be a good place to try out. He was pretty upset that the restaurant was so meh and that he took me there for my birthday. Returned here for another go at their pasta dishes. To my surprise the staff remembers me!! The Christmas decor in the restaurant is well placed. I definitely feel welcomed here. I ordered polpette al forno, tagliatelle Bolognese, and Strawberry caipirinha. The polpette al forno meat is soft, tender and juicy. The marinara sauce on it is rich. The caipirinha with strawberry is good. The vodka in it doesn't overpower the fruit. Lastly the main dish, they did a good job in cooking tagliatelle Bolognese. The bolognese sauce is rich and savory. I can taste hint of sofrito in the sauce, which is a sign of authentic Bolognese ragu sauce. They also choose tagliatelle for the pasta which is better because it mix better with the ground beef on the surface compared to spaghetti or linguine. Definitely ask for extra cheese with this dish. read more

Horrible service. Never received a greeting and the bartender never came over. There were two people in the restaurant and one other person at the bar. They were too busy on their phones and chatting with each other. A simple greeting to let me know they would be over would suffice. Or any type of service. I understand you might be in the switch from lunch to dinner service. But walking around with the cash bag and not attending to guests was highly unprofessional. We went to Sapori for the first time tonight and it was awesome! Our waiter Jeronimo was awesome! So nice and made sure we were happy with everything. The food was delicious: rigatoni Caico e Pepe was some of the best I've ever had and I order it when it's on the menu everywhere I go, my dad said the shrimp papadelle was equal to the old Alfredo's in Quincy. My mom got seafood ravioli and it was stuffed with seafood: dessert was equally as delicious. Highly recommend. read more

Sapori is Special! Sapori is the new Italian restaurant that used to be called Italian Cafe Gelato in Quincy. They rebranded into a gorgeous, romantic Italian kitchen and bar with options for dinner and lunch. They still offer Gelato, but either to go or for dessert after your sit-down meal. They also know authentic Italian food. Growing up in a big Italian family my Grandparents would cook Sunday dinner for all of us and I would be so excited to gather around the kitchen table. Sapori is very much like this and more, a true family-owned restaurant. They have a phenomenal cocktail and wine list, excellent staff and service willing to answer any questions and offer suggestions, and a menu with incredible mouth-watering dishes. You couldn't go wrong with anything you order. We shared the Chicken Piccata and it was exactly what we expected. The penne was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so good that I wanted to drink it (LOL). The chicken had a lot of flavor too. I just wish there was more for us to enjoy. We finished with 3 scoops of gelato (Pistachio, Tiramisu, and Dark Choc.) and oh wow was it perfect. We also shared an Espresso Martini. Sapori was superb and you need to go and try it for yourself. Had dinner with a friend at Sapori last night and it was a delightful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was upbeat, and energetic. We were a bit early for our reservation so were invited to sit at a Cafe table for a drink giving us time to appreciate the room and the mouthwatering fragrance from the kitchen. Our table was ready on time and we struggled with appealing menu choices, both settling on pasta dishes. Our meals were delicious. In fact, our time was so good that we uncharacteristically took desert; a beautiful tiramisu. Sapori is welcome addition to the Quincy dining scene. read more

Can't say enough great things. Used to go all the time to get gelato and an iced latte with my son when it was just a little gelato cafe. That was our spot. Decided to stay local for our valentines dinner and tried the cute little Italian restaurant now Sapori. It was so comfy with the table cloths and little lamp. The feel of being right in a cozy Italian home is what I'd like to describe. The family was there and I'm pretty sure the son was our waiter. After a rough flight to Boston, all I wanted was a bowl of pasta. My sister found this place and they were not crowded because they were getting ready for the dinner crowd. I love spaghetti arrabiata and ordered that. It was delicious and I finished my whole plate! The bread they gave us was hard and they didn't give us any butter. I don't mind the no butter as I do not eat my bread with butter, but it was unfortunate that the bread was not warm. Maybe it's because we came when they were in-between times? Totally forgot to take pictures. I really meant to to this time, but the food was exceptional. We started with the calamari was fried perfectly with the lemon and the banana peppers that fresh bread that they brought out that they definitely made their themselves with oil and my girlfriend got originally some squash dish. I'm not sure what it was but it was a little too sweet to her liking. It was delicious. She just forgot how sweet the squash was so she switched and got the pesto gnocchi which was delicious. I tried it as well. I got the chicken Parm, which was tremendous, and then we split the gelato at the end Which was we got the lemon piccata we got Oreo and pistachio and they were all delicious. It was great really was the waiter was great. It was a slow night, but he was super attentive very well-versed in the whole menu. The inside is quaint but beautiful. Who said you have to go to the North End for great Italian food? They have their best contender in the South Shore area - Quincy! You don't have to fight for parking as there are plenty of street parking around the restaurant and most importantly, they tastes GREAT! We learned from the kind owners, Cleber and ChiChi that Sapori was only opened for half a year but the place was well known to the community and was PACKED! They have authentic Italian food anf HOUSEMADE pastas. Their bread was a grandma's recipe, tiramisu was a mamma's recipe, and my favorite was the Fruitti de mare! This food was good, but we ordered through grub hub and I would not do that again. It turned out very expensive - 3 entrees, 2 appetizers with "fees" and tip was $182. 3 pieces of bruschetta was $17. It was really good, but that just seemed like a lot to me. I think if you eat at the restaurant it is probably fabulous. Delivery just wasn't the right choice. We sat at the bar the first time we went and the bartender and one of the owners chatted with us and were very friendly. The second time we sat at a table and chatted with one of the servers who was nice. They all seem to be from Italy or have family there so I expected some really good Italian food and this place didn't disappoint. It's a small place but has a nice vibe. The pappardelle and the tagliatelle are homemade so we got both dishes with those pastas - Tagliatelle Bolognese and Pappardelle alla Napoletana (with cod, tomatoes, capers, olives and garlic). The pasta is so light and fresh and the portions are huge. The Ricotta Pizza was also delicious (with crushed tomatoes, shaved ricotta salata, fresh ricotta, and caramelized onions). Very reasonable prices! Don't forget some gelato after your meal - the pistachio and mint chip flavors are both excellent. read more

The place wasn't crowed so we walked-in and grabbed two seats at the bar. No "welcome, hello, what would you like, how's your day..." just a menu flopped in front of us and we sat there for 15 minutes and watch some children's show on the TV (strange for a bar) while the bartender, bar-back and manager wandered around cluelessly. We got up and left - and no one noticed enough to even engage as to why. The entire staff needs training. Very bizarre and we will never know if the food is any good. read more

Honestly really disappointed with this experience. We arrived at 7 on a Saturday night with a party of 5. Waiting about 10-15 min which wasn't terrible. Ordered drinks at the bar while we waited and looked at a menu before being seated. Once seated our drink orders were taken and we put in orders of the burrata and arancini antipasti. They serve complimentary fried dough, seemingly cut up pieces of pizza dough deep fried and served with seasoned olive oil. It started off strong, despite how expensive the apps were ($14 for two small arancini and $20 for bread, cheese, and tomatoes). Don't get me wrong, it was tasty. But that's about all this place had to offer as everything was downhill after that. We sat around 7:20. We didn't receive our dinner until after 9pm. We counted the tables occupied and they totalled 8 including ours, four parties of 2, two larger parties that were already seated and eating before we sat down, and another party of 4. The place is not large, so I'm not sure how this place fell so short on service. We had the waitress come back once to say our food should be coming out shortly but it was still another 45 minutes until it came. For the food, the chicken parm you cannot sub the penne for anything other than spaghetti, which is disappointing considering the other pasta options on the menu. The portion is HUGE. I would rather pay the same price for less of a better quality pasta like bucatini or tagliatelle. Additionally, there was simply way too much sauce in this dish. The Margherita pizza. Man it's so hard to find an authentic Margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella. Spoiler alert, this wasn't it. There was a nice crisp to the crust but unfortunately once the pizza cooled a little it was so chewy to eat. The carbonara was also subpar. It wasn't anyrhing to write home about. Glad they at least used guancale. The salmon piccata may have been the best dish. I did not try it, but my friends that did were very pleased with it and agreed it was better than their own. This review is not a direct reflection of the wait staff. They were very friendly, funny, and accommodating when they did get to us. Unfortunately by the time we finished eating we were all too tired to order dessert as it was past some of our bedtimes. I would not say it was worth such a long wait. Hopefully this place can improve as good Italian is hard to come by. read more

The burrata was ok although I don't find much flavor with burrata cheese. Entrees were Chic parm which was plentiful Chicken piccata and Chicken Marsala. All 3 were good. Desert was great. The tiramisu came chilled with a rim of lady fingers. The chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla was insanely good. We're all spoiled with the North End being so close ,So comparing anything to it is tough . Bar seats around 8 people and has a few TVs. Good wine selection ...
