In the past 11 years that my husband and I have lived at Sunset View Apartments, we never experience the best management and customer service until Maria Cahill took over the management of the property. She works for Griswold Management. She and her maintenance team, Jesus and Daniel have worked hard to turn the property around as we see they are like busy bees getting caught up with maintenance issues that were not addressed by previous managers in the past.. Maria will always welcome every concern we submit to her office with a smile and genuine willingness to listen and help. The next thing you know, the maintenance technician is knocking on our door. I see her come home late most of the time, which showed she is dedicated with her job. She is very friendly, helpful, cheerful, energetic, vibrant, very professional, respectful, responsive with any communications, kind-hearted and sincere. Her maintenance technician - Jesus is always fast in fixing any service request. He is quiet but very respectful. He always meets our expectations in getting our service requests done. He knows what he is doing. Daniel, the janitor keeps the surroundings clean and does most of exterior minor repairs and improvements. He is quiet but friendly and helpful. We learned that Maria and her family are relocating to another state next year and we will surely miss her presence. here. She has done a remarkable improvement at the property and that includes, restoring the peace and quiet order of the community, providing us extra sense of protection seeing roving patrol at night, improved parking and strict with enforcing parking rules, reminding residents the proper garbage disposal and recycling, grounds and landscaping are well-kept, laundry rooms are clean, updated laundry service with electronic payment system, regular trees trimming, gutters cleaning, asphalt and parking lot striping, updated signs, upgraded interiors in apartment units, and not to mention the upcoming building repairs and painting she had all set up for next year. She has an excellent communication skills and is very effective in enforcing rules and regulations. She is very detailed with her objectives to make sure we get repeated reminders... then she draws the line. She may be kind hearted but she knows how to be in control as a property manager. We have so much respect for her and seeing her leave makes us feel anxious, who is going to be the next manager? We are hoping she will be as great as Maria. Thank you Maria for everything you have done for the apartment community. You did an amazing and excellent job in providing us a quality living experience at Sunset View Apartments. At the time of this writing, I'm just shy of having lived in this community for 11 years. Over the years I've seen many changes in management personnel. The current management company, Griswold Real Estate Management, the Onsite Residential Manager, Maria Cahill, and the Matientace Staff, Daniel and Jesus, have all elevated the quality of living conditions and services at these apartments. Any problems, concerns or maintenance requests are promptly addressed and taken care of. The grounds, landscaping and laundry rooms are impeccably maintained at a very high standard. In short, the quality of life and the overall living conditions have greatly improved under the care of Maria Cahill. The apartments themselves are situated away from the regular foot and vehicle traffic of Bradley Avenue. In addition, an overall sense of security and safety has been fostered as of late. I regularly see Private Security making an appearance and actually taking the time to get out of their vehicle to look around with a flashlight, something that really makes a difference. read more

I know there are negative comments on here but I can reassure you they are about previous management companies and managers and things have totally turned around. I have lived in this community for 5 years and we have never had a BETTER management company and manager than we do now. Maria is super friendly and very professional and gets things done quickly. Our apartment community is looking so much better as a whole and they are really screening prospective tenants so much better than in the past years! Last year I had a service ticket for things that needed to be fixed in my apt and it took 8 months for the old management company to address them. Recently I had an issue in my apartment that was dealt with the SAME DAY. I used to fear getting emails from the previous management company because they were always very threatening and uncomfortable. Maria's emails are friendly, uplifting and full of good information. I have lived at Sunset View for four years. I have not been able to move because I cannot afford to. I am finally able to move after four years of living in hell. The parking lots are dirty filled with vomit broken glass cigarette butts and other garbage. I have even found condoms. There is so much crime that the police have earmarked this area for a special watch. Cocaine and meth dealers inhabit a large part of the complex. Tenants who fight with each other out in front of the apartments using violence swearing and damaging property are allowed to stay. I watched the gardener being beaten up one day by a tenant and his girl friend for blowing dirt in their house. None of the noise laws are enforced people stand in the lots and yell and fight in the middle of the night on a regular basis. If you have children please do not move here. There is a huge kidnapping and rape problem in this area. There are also bloods hells angels and Mexican mafia living in the area. read more

I've had a great experience living here so far. The community is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, which makes it really comfortable to come home to every day. Phylicia, who manages the property has been friendly, professional, and very responsive whenever I've had questions or needed assistance. She really goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, which I really appreciate. The location is also very convenient, with everything I need nearby. Overall, it's been a positive living experience and I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a safe and well-kept place to live. read more

Sunset view apartments is run by an amazing management team. Maria, the onsite manager, made the application process and the move in so smooth and enjoyable. We were so excited to move into our new place. Since we've moved in, the management has been on top of any maintenance needed and are always quick to answer any questions that we have. I have lived here for 12 years and I have to say Griswold management has turned this place into a great place to live! Sheri, our on-site manager, is kind, professional, and responsive. She is easy to reach and takes all concerns seriously. They have remodeled the interior and exterior of the property and keep the grounds nicely maintained. We also have a very capable maintenance crew that I trust and appreciate. Jesus always goes the extra mile to take care of any issues that we have. I just moved here a few weeks ago and I have lived in other apartments here in San Diego but never have I had such great service. Maria has been super helpful and super accommodating! She has made this feel like home and has just gone beyond my expectations for the price we are paying. The whole process was easy to get through thanks to Maria! The only struggle here is the parking because you only get 1 spot. I know it's not an easy thing for management to figure out but Maria does try to help any way she can. read more

Nice property. It's up on a hill so you have some great views of the mountains. Jensen Properties manages it now and are doing a great job. The manager is nice and professional. The location is right by the freeway, so it's a great location if you commute. I also like how it is right in between El Cajon and Santee, so you are close to every store and restaurant you can think of. I would definitely recommend Sunset View. read more

I have lived here for about 7 years now, and we have had some really bad Management in the past. BUT now that Maria with Griswold Real Estate Management has taken over things are looking good. Don't do it .... This apartment crazy too much going on the manager never there ..... there is a drunk couple that constantly cause arguments then the police show up etc etc the apartments directly behind these are even worse everyday there is drama and cops constant yelling all types of things ..... my neighbors car has been broken into multiple times you can Never rest easy if you live here read more

I did not want to look at apartments in el cajon. Cost wise it's attractive so we went by and took tour of this place. Right away it seemed a lot more safe and peaceful than just down the street. I liked the way the people who lived there were pretty friendly even when just passing by read more

This property is up and coming! The new management company is really putting a lot of long over due work into it. It will take some time to get it all dialed in which was explained to me by Angela but I got to see what the have already done and are continuing to do. read more
