We opted to go with the carpet cleaning company that they pair with to avoid getting penalized with another company not following their guidelines. We set an appointment directly with that company and were quoted $242 for the floor plan. Parker Residences' director told us to cancel our appointment and they'd take care of it honoring the quote yet we're being charged $350. At this point I wouldnt be surprised if they spiked up the sewerage and water fees monthly when there's no clear transparency of the breakdown. Tandem parking sucks too. Don't move here.

I say this because this feels like a home it is not compacted at all I believe it was built in the seventies but it might have even been the 50s and they just read you the parking lot as well as the roofs so everything is wonderful and they are remodeled in different ways at different times so everybody has some special kind of thing about their apartment that makes it special to them we talk amongst each other and it's a friendly place. But more than that it's been the people that work here that make it real community for me. When I left to go to a funeral in Denver where I am from, the resident relations manager who is in my building and we keep a quiet building said Shasta Lane is a family we will welcome you back. That touched me because I haven't made a lot of friends yet in california! I also want to mention somebody else, somebody very special at fixing anything you can think of someone that any business would want if they didn't need a lot of trouble and other experts and just wanted one man that could do it all and sometime with an assistant his name is Brandon Fronhoefer, the senior service manager. I never have to worry about things costing here even though renters insurance is required because the place really doesn't need a lot of repair in all of these apartments are sturdily built and not only that, the senior business manager Lorraine Seward seems to really have work with some people that took advantage of the covid no pay rent because they did not read the law and suddenly were left with oh my goodness I have to pay it all at once all back. They did not read the statute, and that is unfortunate. For some time the rain worked with these people, I noticed that people were allowed to stay for some time past the time they could repay it so that seems to have come to an end it is understandable and that is why the rent has gone up all over town. I have bad credit but I always pay my rent first. I also want to say that the staff has been especially patient with me because I have a mental illness combined with a head injury, I appear normal speak normal and do a lot of things just like everyone else, but the staff is aware of my condition and they are so sensitive it it is unbelievable! I highly recommend moving here is a wonderful place don't worry about the price I couldn't find anything cheaper in Chu la Vista you'll do well here you'll enjoy it it even has a hot tub and heated floors in my bedroom and living room amazing amazing view out of the patio facing west and a palm tree for my Colorado fun time I love San Diego and this has been a wonderful experience thank you Shasta Lane apartments. They are postponing rentals for an indeterminate amount of time, I didn't feel like I got true or honest information about that. Josie kept referring to her boss, "the lawyer," as the reason they were not accepting move ins. I want to say I have spoken to her a few times over a month or so of apartment searching. Here's my takeaway: if they are always going to drop the "boss is a lawyer" bit, how awful is this place going to be to live? It seems ominous already and I don't even live there. I could lawyer up too (I have needed to before). But why would you want to put that energy out there. If a "lawyer" is taking actual months to draw up such an advantageous lease for them, where will that leave us? Up shit creek, that's where. I literally never have seen an apartment put move ins on hold to write up a more self serving lease. Josie seemed nice, but I felt put off ultimately by the constant "my boss is a lawyer," name dropping. I was told, no bankruptcies, period. Everyone says that. I had a hard time physically and lost a business. Hence, the bankruptcy, several years ago. My credit is solid now, really good. Most NORMAL people can figure that out. Then Josie says, "for 7 years or more." They clearly do not have a clue on what they are doing. After 7 years, you actually can file ANOTHER bankruptcy. Not that I'm planning on it, but that's what the 7 years mark is. I was really shocked that she didn't know the basics of that. My credit is good enough to obtain a mortgage at this point (I have spoken to a lender), but not rent at the Mellmanor. Maybe it's a nice place, I will never know. No compassion for people at all. If you have a situation with a neighbor or animals pooping in your yard- no response. When prior office staff was there I would get acknowledgment of thank you letting me know or something or anything!! IF she gives you a response- don't expect a nice one. When I emailed prior landlords I would get it addressed instantly. When I was late on rent- I would say something and give a date of payment! Never evicted!! I communicated but just know that doesn't mean anything for them. I would over hear the endless complaints about how many apartments did not communicate with the office and I would question why but I get it. It's Jaime. It's her. I thought communication was appreciated to find out it's not so damned if you do or damned if you don't with them. No environmental considerations, much higher rent, and lots of apartment floods as building ages. Management doesn't allow "auto pay" for your portion of subsidized rent if on a housing program of any kind . You must pay $10 for a cashiers check or get check sent from your bank. High fine for one day late rent .... No exceptions. Lots of elevator breakdowns, and garage door breakdowns, leasing staff does not stay working here long, so just when u think u have a great relationship/communication w office, it's gone. Most times the office is in chaos and you get wrong information on what you ask about. Very frustrating for the residents Security is not great... years ago was wonderful, The trolley brings problematic people into this vicinity. Not really safe to walk your dog at night. I sure miss our former management company. They were considerate and always fair. This is now called The District and is nothing like the wonderful place it was as Pravada.

Fiberglass Fiasco: Health and Finances Lost (Link to video…read morein my second picture) A few months ago, I was eager to move into Alterra. It's convenient location and modern architecture seemed to outweigh its expenses. When I moved in, the staff was friendly, but I soon became aware of its lack of interpersonal charm. Despite most of the staff providing only a semblance of benevolence, one staff member, Harmony, was kind, helpful, and personable. So I overlooked warning signs, such as continued maintenance problems with my apartment from day one. My major issues began late July when I began to experience skin irritation and formication, to which I naturally assumed to be an insect infestation. I promptly notified staff of the problem and requested an inspection. That's when the struggle began. It took me three weeks of nagging to get an actual inspection. During this time period, I was lied to. I continued to experience health problems in my apartment, which drove me to hotels that I had to pay for myself. No results were found from the inspection, so management acted as if that was the end of it. I continued to experience skin and now respiration problems, which pushed me to medical centers. I had to investigate the problem myself while staying in hotels. That was costly, and by the time I had narrowed down the problem, I was out of money. I now presume the problem to be airborne fiberglass or building material from the renovated unit next door. It was much too late though. I opted out of my lease. I am a veteran, and I have lost all my money trying to fix this problem. The problem is not with maintenance. I understand that things go wrong. The problem is with the dubious, cavalier attitude that I was treated with. I haven't received any reimbursement for my hotels or medical, and I had to pay rent for the two months that this fiasco ensued. I haven't even received an apology for messing up my home and finances. I write this, not to bash anyone, but to make others aware of the problems with communication and customer relations that I faced. For almost two grand a month, I deserve better. You deserve better. Management should have been working with me to investigate what was making me sick, not doubting my every word. Maybe someone from corporate will see this, and I can get some kind of reimbursement, so I can find a place to live. If not, maybe you will read this and avoid moving into my tainted unit. Who knows though? Maybe they will fix it. My recommendation is don't even waste your time if you are looking for a place with people who care past their 9-5. You're only a dollar figure and a paycheck to them. I expect much more than that, and so should you.
