I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with McClain's. What should have been an exciting RV purchase turned into an ongoing, frustrating, and completely unacceptable experience. From the beginning, there were serious concerns around transparency. I was upsold on parts that were already installed on the unit--this was later confirmed, and I had to go through the process of getting one of those items refunded. I was also pushed to purchase a solar setup that was already installed on the RV. These are not small oversights--they are major red flags. The most serious issues, however, have been with financing and payments. I was explicitly told that McClain's would be covering initial payments due to delays on their end. Not only did they fail to properly execute those payments, but I later learned from my lender that attempted payments were declined, resulting in my account being placed in a past due status. To prevent further damage, I made the payment myself--only to then be contacted by McClain's attempting to collect from me directly for that same payment. I was also asked to reimburse them for payments they claimed to have made, which, according to my lender, were never successfully processed. On top of that, McClain's failed to properly finalize our financing application, which resulted in additional, unnecessary credit pulls. Our credit was hit again, and our score dropped another 30 points due to an issue entirely on their end. What's most disappointing is that I have now asked--multiple times--for clarification and resolution on why I was being asked to make payments for amounts that were never actually paid, and I have provided proof to support this. I have yet to receive a response. At this point, the lack of accountability is just as concerning as the mistakes themselves. This situation should have been handled immediately and professionally. Instead, I was given no clear communication, no statement, no explanation--just a demand for payment with no runway and no acknowledgment of their errors. They allowed the account to fall past due due to their failure to finalize and process things correctly, and rather than going above and beyond to make it right, they have left me to deal with the consequences. To add to this, my husband is a disabled veteran, and this situation has created completely unnecessary stress and strain that no family should have to deal with--especially over issues that were entirely preventable. This entire experience has been disorganized, stressful, and completely unacceptable. It has required hours of my time to correct mistakes that should never have happened, and it has put my credit at risk due to their lack of accountability and follow-through. At no point should a customer be put in a position where they are cleaning up financial errors made by the dealership. I would never recommend McClain's to anyone. Proceed with extreme caution. If this is how they handle financing and customer accountability, I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before trusting them with a purchase of this size. read more

I have reached out to McClain's 3 times in 7 days, twice by phone & once online, for some basic maintenance work on my Casita Travel Trailer prior to a long trip. The first time I called someone answered and gave me a price for the work but that someone had to call me back to schedule an appointment. After 3 days I went online and filled out a service request to which I received a confirmation email stating that someone would get back to me to schedule an appointment, nothing. I called again 4 days later and once again was told that the service advisor would call me back shortly to schedule an appointment, it has been 4 days & I have yet to receive any response from a service advisor. Their quote was considerably more expensive than I received from others but I was willing to give McClain's a try as they are located very close to me. I will never contact them again & i will make sure that anyone that I know that has a RV knows about my experience. read more

We bought a Winnebago Travato and picked it up today in Corinth, Texas. Pricing was excellent, the salesman did a great job and turned out that he was being promoted to the finance department. He was Mickey, and he did an excellent job for us. Couldn't recommend any more. The process was straightforward, and we went through everything on the RV before we ever went to sign any paperwork so at that point, we didn't like it. We were not obligated to buy it. Find me a dealer that doesn't want all the paperwork signed first and then when they find the problems on the RV, they'll tell you to bring it back McLean's allowed us to go through the complete walk-through on it. We found a couple items and they came out and fixed it right there. I'd recommend them to anybody in terms of buying an RV in this is our fifth RV. Our last one was the airstream 26U we had it for five years and sold it in the middle of Covid so now we've decided to go RV again and bought this class B. I recommend them go get you some and hit the roads. read more

EXCESSIVE pricing on service. Recently called to inquire about Oil/filter change on motorhome F53 chassis. Filter and 6.5 qts of synthetic oil. The Service Advisor quoted me $350.00 plus tax. This was a simple oil change.... Lets see at local parts store that $14 for filter and $35 for synthetic oil (5 quart container and 2 1qt) Total rip off. Just bought our second RV here. Weston ins sales was great. He listened to what we wanted and gave us the best price the first time. No going back and forth. We loved that. He was amazing and I recommend asking for him when you are buying. The service department has gone through some changes. Our first service advisor, Cierra, was so good she got promoted. Our second advisor was so bad she got let go. Our current is Brianne. Brianne is all business. She listens and tries her hardest to get it correct. We are very pleased with her. She works hard with your insurance if you have a claim. Morgan is the supervisor for the service department, and he too tries to make it right. read more

Well the first thing they lack in is COMMUNICATION!!! Had made a deal with them and they did the credit deal with what we needed to finance and was approved and made a appointment to bring our trailer for trade then we get a call saying its a no go!! Try to talk to our sales guy but he never would get back to me and called the other person and left messages and no response. So finally i tried once again and they told me he was with someone he would call back. Never happened then i called about 2 hours later and the guy that answered said let me get him then he comes back to the phone and said someone will be with you. He wouldnt even talk to me. Then the lady that was talking to about the deal kept trying to talk over you and not let u say anything but once i kept talking over her and still dont understand why they said the deal was off they couldn't do it when on Friday it was a done deal .... I had a recall completed at McClain's RV SuperStore in Corinth Tx. It was very frustrating at the beginning just to schedule an appointment to drop off my vehicle. At my drop off appointment, I was asked about winterizing my vehicle and I agreed. I was told that all fluids would be emptied from holding tanks. The total bill was over $300s. On the day I picked up my vehicle I verified with Brianna that the winterizing was completed. Brianna said she saw them empty tanks "right out in front of her". When I got home I noticed that the tanks were not emptied. I called and talked with the service manager who stated that it would be made right. As of today, I have not heard from anyone at McClain's RV. Will not be going back and would not recommend to anyone else. read more

My stomach is in knots after reading these reviews. We bought from this location a few years ago. One thing I learned right away was that these people play dumb and lie about every single thing that comes out of their mouths. They told us we were buying a current year RV when it was a year old. They also told us we were waiting on our unit to come it when they actually gave us the showroom model which had been there for at least a year and had significant wear and tear so we had to leave it with the dealership for about 4 months while they lied about ordering our parts and kept telling us they couldn't get them in. Every time they did any actual work on the interior, they would damage the unit even worse than it was and then, you guessed it, they played dumb. We ordered some nice expensive steps, a significant upgraded set but 3 times they installed cheap ones. Their face would light up when you got mad or expressed frustration with anything they were doing to you. The manager of the repair shop actually stood over me when I ordered an upgraded bathroom mirror. It took 6 months for it to come in. During that time, I checked and double checked the parts number with him because I had learned that they couldn't get anything right. He called me on the day it came in to come down. I got there and he wanted me to open the box. When I did, and it was the wrong mirror, I looked up and he had the biggest smile on his face you could imagine. We gathered up all of the parts they ordered and drove our unit across the border into Oklahoma to RV Station. We transferred our warranty. Best thing we could have done. Yes, we spoke to the Manager, the Regional Manager & wrote letters to the owner. Crickets! I haven't even covered the whole story but you get the idea. DON'T DO IT!!!! read more

No matter what any salesman tells you get it in writing and signed by the manager. If not you will likely be on your own. Salesman told us that any 30 day warranty work could be done at the Sanger McClains where they took my rv to the KOA in Sanger that's associated with McClains. Had a small problem, walked to McClains from KOA to ask if someone could take a look, guy says sure, he'd be over in few minutes. Instead got call from Corinth shop saying any warranty work had to be done at their shop, not where I was. Find out our salesman lied to us and he had been fired. **BUYER BEWARE** worst experience purchasing a rig ever. The Sales process was pretty smooth, responsive, had some answers, etc. but after meeting with finance and they have you on the hook for a rig customer service goes out the window. I literally had to go back to my sales guy multiple times to get an answer from sales or someone higher. Here are some things I learned through this experience; - If your looking for a used rig, nobody knows nothing about it. Not the history, prior issues etc. so don't get caught up in the sales pitch. - AFTER you purchase the unit is when an inspection is done, only then will you know the true condition on the unit. - I had a leak and warped roof trim, do you think the fixed it or reimbursed me? Nope. - I have a tear in my couch that they were supposed to fix. It took me reaching out more than THREE times for an update only to be told oh yea it's here just bring it in. I tried to schedule a time, again NO REPLY. - I traded in a unit which I was low balled on, only to have them sell it for 20k more than they paid me. This is how they treat their 'family'. $20k! - I have dealt with the McClains brand three times at two different dealers. Considering this was a corporate or regional office I hoped that it would be different. NOPE. - everything that has been fixed has been at my expense unfortunately. So beware if you go here especially if you purchase a used unit or trade one in. - The sad part is that this is the experience you will find in 75% of dealers. It's Sales at the end of the day. All I ask is transparency. You don't lie to folks and sell them things you don't really do. - I hope the someone reads this who can make impact in the future. I don't need a standard reply of "sorry your experience wasn't ideal etc, bring it in so we can make it right...". Time is money folks and I'm not stopping my life cause you responded publicly. I took my Grand Design 376th in for warranty work 3 months after purchasing it. That was back in February. I'm just now getting to the review as it needs service on the black tank but I sure as hell am not taking it here if I have any other options at all. Calling Grand Design Tuesday morning after Memorial Day. McClains does such shitty work and their service guys are so freaking rude, I'll make sure they don't get my warranty work and that's good money from Grand Design!!! Screen door latch broke before I'd even moved in. Leak in the front corner. Monitor gauges not correct. Bedroom wardrobe loose. A/C in bedroom not blowing cold air. They got me in very fast as I live in it and I was a "Honeymooner in service level. First time to own an RV and they never told me I couldn't put regular toilet paper down the toilet so they said it was also stopped up "draining slow" so it would be an extra 165.00 to flush the toilet paper out as warranty wouldn't cover it. I had put gorilla glue in the latch and put duct tape on it to dry and never took it off. They took it off and said warranty wouldn't cover it as it was ruined but I did a better job fixing it than they would have. I called Gran Design service and talked to them about the black tank flushing and they said they would cover it but not next time. Said they don't know McClains would say that as if anything they fix more than they should. Ok as that will never happen again now that I know. They fixed the front leak. They kept adding their tank cleaners to get the gauges clean and moving the unit back to their "camp ground ". They didn't connect anything so I did the electric. Went without water for 32 hours. They emptied the tanks again filled them back up to sit overnight and they were like go down to the gas station but don't use anything. AT 3 o'clock IN THE MORNING???? Yes. We'll empty it tomorrow. One of their guys opened a cabinet in the kitchen that next day and broke a 129.00 Riedel wine glass, they did pay for it. I DON'T WANT PEOPLE OPENING MY CABINETS WHEN THEY ARE IN THERE TO FIX A BEDROOM THERMOSTAT. I tell service Peter Pacheco they had no business IN the cabinets, his rude ass tells me technically I have no business back in their yard where my RV is. I HAVE NO PLACE ELSE TO GO WHEN IM OFF WORK. MY " HOUSE" IS IN THEIR YARD. So I'm thinking they emptied the tanks as they were in my RV. It freezes that next night but I left the kitchen water tinkling as I know it's going to freeze. IT FLOODS!!! (Slight exaggeration). But I'm up at 4 AM cleaning water off the sinks, under the sinks and the kitchen floor!!!! Again Peter whose my "trusted service guy and will take care of me", is freakin RUDE again. Who treats their customers like that, that has just plopped down 95,000 for a brand new RV with 3,000 extended warranty????? They hadn't done anything for 2 days but come in and open a cabinet door and beak one of my expensive glasses. The manager Tom when I call tells me that he's sending the sales guy down to show me how to work the monitor system. ???????? Really I think I can do that!!! It's worse now before I brought it in as it was only 33 % full now it's 66% when it's supposed to be empty and they were supposed to be fixing them. I showed the salesman exactly what I'm talking about. He finally gets it and yes, he'll tell the Tom what happen. I see Tom a couple hours later but Aaron didn't tell him what was going on. After a week they get the a/c thermostat in but my RV has to sit there until Monday when the salesman can take it back to my lot as I don't have my truck yet. After pulling our RV from another dealer (TX RV Outlet) because of a horrible experience, we brought it to them. They said we will do an estimate, take the RV home and we will call when parts are in. Just as an fyi-if all possible, do not leave your RV at any RV store locations becz they are not liable for loss/damage and the law protects them. We learned this at the other RV repair shop. On 3/3/2023 I was making an RV purchase at Mcclains in Corinth. On that Jacob Soppe called me and told he couldn't get the refrigerator to work and if it doesn't he understands if I don't want to go through with the sale and that they may have a refrigerator that would work for my RV. The next text I received was that it was working. When I took the RV home I text Jacob asking what I needed to do to get the fridge working and was told it would have to plug into a 30 amp. On 03/25/2023, after being plugged in at a park for about 2 days I text him and informed that I was plugged into a 30 amp and it still wasn't working & check light was on. He asked for a photo and never responded after sent it. On 3/27/2023 I paid a technician to come out and was told the fridge was bad & that he could tell by the color of the ammonia that had leaked out that this was something from several months prior. He suggested I go back to Mcclains. On 3/28/2023 I went to Mcclains and spoke to Murphy Jackson and informed him of everything that was going on. He stated that I purchased and signed for the unit as is. I agreed and explained that I was under the assumption that the refrigerator was working because that's what I was told, which took away my option to back out considering this would cost me about $3000. He told me that he was going on what was in writing. I told him I also have in writing that I was told it was working. He told me that did not matter and they were unwilling to do anything to remedy the issue. On Monday, 04/03/2023 I had another technician come out to replace the refrigerator and they suggested I call to the dealership and ask if they wanted to pick the old one up. They informed Morgan Herndon that the refrigerator was a major fire and safety hazard and should have never left the lot. This dealership dose not care after you purchase your RV. You can't get in for service then they say they had to wait on parts from Winnebago. They blame everything on Winnebago and never take responsibility. I have had my RV for over a year and they have never been able to fix my auto level system. It has never worked since I got the rig. Winnebago products are excellent. It's a-shame you can't get any decent service in a reasonable amount of time. I'm going to trade for a different brand next time. read more

My wife refuses to tent camp so we are looking into a travel trailer. I heard from other reviews that they are family owned and not super corporate. Moving from Austin to Lantana, this is important to us. We stopped at a few other dealership on our drive up in Temple and Georgetown and were treated like a number. What we found at McClain's was a very friendly atmosphere. We ere treated with respect and taken seriously as buyers. Once we close on our house we plan to be back and get the trailer we found. I guess they are the only Winnebago dealership within a few hundred miles which is huge because they have their own service department. read more

Do not buy an RV from MCClains unless you like to do business with liars and horrible business people. We purchased a used pop up camper 2 Months ago and have regretted it since... we first scheduled to go see it. We were rushed to look at it and the sales people had no knowledge of pop up campers. We asked them if it would be fully cleaned and have all mechanical components checked as well. ( it had just come in on a trade) they assured us that they would do both. We weee also told we would get. 30 day guarantee on the camper. We said ok and headed in to do the paper work. The sales person we were working with had agreed on a certain sales price but when I got to the table the manager had scratched it and put a higher price. Right there we should have walked away. They told us we could come back next week to pick it up so they could clean it and make sure everything was in working order and to show us how everything works. We said ok. Side note they purchase their own in house financing like crazy! This is not our first camper to buy so we were used to a certain way camper sales go. A week later we show up to McCain's and the camper is closed. We asked to see it open but they made the excuse of how much work it takes to open up. Second mistake. So we took it home open it up and find that it has not been cleaned at all and the that black and gray toilet cassettes are FULL of crap!! We sold us a camper full of crap that was so disgusting and stinky. The roof also had a leak and was FULL of carpenter ants.I called McClain's and they made excuses... after talking to manager not knowing how this could have happened. They say they will come pick up the camper and clean it. Then we get a call saying Mr.McClain is going to give us a call (never happened) then another call asking us to bring the camper to them. Because they don't have enough staff to do such a service. We caved and took the camper in to a different McClain. We got it back still not very clean but tired of dealing with it.... two months later we have still have not received the title to our camper. I called the state of Texas and they don't show the title. They said the camper either still had a previous lein or the title was lost.I called McClains 7 times with no answers so I finally drove up there to talk to someone and I have never been treated more rudely. They do not know how to put the customer first, they do not know how to be kind, they do not know how to tell the truth. McClain's is a joke. read more

We have used the McClains Sanger for service on our previous travel trailer. wWhen it came time for us to trade in our bunkhouse trailer, we looked to McClains in Sanger. They had a preowned fifth wheel in the model we were looking for. From our first visit, our salesman Lathan treated us very well. We have no complaints about the sales and delivery of our RV. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because of Jeff, the finance guy. He was perfectly fine to work with until we questioned the extended warranties. He actually became aggressive and rather rude - even questioning our intelligence about not wanting to purchase a $6,500 extended warranty for a two year old unit - even though it is our right to refuse what we didn't feel we would use. He tried using fear to intimidate us. He even questioned our insurance policy even though his only concern should have been proof that we had insurance - which we do. In all, I would highly recommend McClains in Sanger and particularly Lathan but would suggest caution if you have to work with Jeff. read more

03-18: We bought a Grand Design Imagine from McClain's Corinth dealership. Within a few weeks while testing the trailer for leaks, we found the front gray tank was leaking and took it to OKC Mcclain's dealership for tank replacement. After discovering they replaced the wrong tank, we had to again tow the trailler to OKC due to their error. It was in their shop for 8 weeks. We were unable to use the trailer until 5 months after purchase. 04-2020: When de-winterizing, I saw the black tank valve was stuck open,& also found they did not replace the insulation in the underbelly of the trailer after the gray tank repair. 4-21-2020: Hail Storm! When getting a hail damage estimate, Dale Pewitt, owner of Doug's RV in Duncan, OK, informed me the sides on the aluminum cage are loose or broken, a problem that should be addressed by the Grand Design factory in Indiana. Mr. Pewitt said the trailer should be totalled due to the severity of damage. I sent photos and video to McClain's showing the aluminum sidewall cage frame is broken and not properly attached, therefore unsafe and unusable. 5-27-2020: Unloaded & towed trailer to Corinth after scheduling a maintenance appointment there at the direction of Grand Design customer service in Indiana. 6-5-20: I contacted service dept. at Corinth to check progress, and was told to return to dealership, hook onto trailer, reload it, locate a scale in Dallas and weigh the trailer. I refused and they refused to tell me the contact info of the mechanic who was requiring this. Weeks later: Corinth maintenance told me they are waiting on GD to pay 6 hrs shop time to evaluate the trailer so they can proceed. They are unwilling to even look at the trailer, citing cost as a reason. 7-20-20: Summer is flying by and we are without a trailer that is bought and paid for because it is again in the repair shop...sitting. 8 weeks now, and nothing. I put an online request for service on my RV, no response after a couple of days, I called their service department and it would ring and hang up, Called sales and got a person who transferred me to service. I had warranty work and they are a dealer for my RV, I was told I would have to wait as I did not buy from them and their customers come first, they took my email to send me info that I could return to them with things like VIN, no email ever came. I have moved on to another dealer who was more than willing to get us in quickly, was respectful and didn't need all the things this one in Corinth needed. If we could give it no stars, we would. Our 2014 Winnebago Tour has supposedly been "repaired" for the following issues of which none has been resolved, but most importantly I have ended up in the emergency room as a result of their negligence. The bed is a sleep number so it must be inflated by air but every time we travel it must be deflated in order to fit. Upon being deflated one side will not inflate and the problem has been the loose tubing underneath the heavy spring loaded bed frame. Every single time we have told the service department about this we were told it is fixed only to end up with a deflated hole that cannot support the weight of a baby so we jimmy up a stick that I hold onto while my husband crawls underneath to reattach the tubing. This last time the stick collapsed allowing the entire King sized bed to snap down onto my hands in a second. My hands were so swollen with hematomas or blood that the medical staff were shocked when they didn't see any fractures. As if that were not enough to piss us off, the service manager also told us our batteries were fine but not 2 days into trip our RV shut off in the middle of the highway while we were on route to the curvy mountains of New Mexico. We were informed that all of them needed to be replaced as they were old. If that had happened while trying to negotiate the curves of the mountains, I shudder to think what would have happened to us and to others. We have 3 AC units yet have struggled with just 2 since 2015 because we have gotten plenty of bills but no results. No rear camera to see our car as we tow it either for years yet. Always some lame excuse about it being an electrical issue, but is it really and if so why not fix it and why charge us it you don't fix it? We have had it. i bought a new RV in 2021 along with an extended service agreement. I could not get the service manager to schedule my safety recall for the propane regulator. I called several times and also talked in person. I was told they would call me when the part came in, that was 9 months ago. I also called due to my heater not working in Oct. 2020 they told me the service manager would call be back and walk me through trouble shooting. Never received a call back. read more

We tried to sell our rv to them. We'd done our research and knew what they are being sold for- both privately and through dealers. I made an appointment to show it to them. First, he forgot that he made an appointment with us. Annoying but not a big deal. Second, knowing that we had driven an hour, he said that they'd have to keep it overnight to go over it. Our son had to drive an hour to get us. We discussed how it's valued online. We discussed all the advantages of ours over an older version of our rv on their lot. We went home only to have him call us and tell us that they could only sell it for $30,000 less than the one they have. Complete BS. He said that they still hadn't looked at it but made a ridiculous low ball offer that is $65,000 less than they are selling the older, crappier version of ours. Don't work with them. We stopped by on our way north to pick up/order parts for our Winnebago. Mc Clain's is one of only a few Winnebago authorized dealers. Problem? parts department is closed on Saturdays. I would think that Saturday would have more parts sales than the rest of the week combined. AND it only takes one person to staff the parts desk on a Saturday-it doesn't take a rocket scientist or even a service expert to do it. VERY disappointing. And just to compare...Camping World up the highway parts department IS open on Saturday. They didn't have what we wanted but at least they were open and tried. You might want to re-think having your parts department closed on Saturday. Since your sales department is open, it wouldn't kill you to have one person staff the parts desk. read more

The flapper assy on the refrigerator door now has the top piece that holds it on the door is now broken. Guess I will have to use a bungie cord to keep the doors closed. What a nightmare. I have to give at least one star or I would not have any stars for this dealership. read more
