I ran in to make some key copies I was dreading going to Home Depot or Lowes , but l need it to get the keys ASAP l coincidently happened to spot it while driving and thinking (I got to make copies of the jet) and pulled in at the furniture store next (I didn't make it to their own) lol l walked over to the grass and wonder in the store hoping they would have a key copier machine and an operator, and they did! In a matter of less than 10 minutes I was in and out! Tested both keys (I made 2) they both worked I don't know about price l bought a couple of trinkets (key identifiers) and made 2 copies and came to less than $10 so l believe that's reasonably priced besides they saved the time and stress of going to the big stress inducing mazes (I meant national chain stores) lol That lady clerk/cashier was super helpful and seemed very sweet! read more

This was without a question the best Ace hardware I have ever been to. It was an old school ace hardware, with retired pros working there, people that actually know about what they are selling and they knew their store. When I asked about a water heater pressure valve, he showed me where they were, he didn't go looking for it with me following; which is what I see at most Ace Hardware nowadays. The other problem Ace normally has is size, this place was big, I'm not talking home depot, but still plenty of room. There was enough room for a fishing section. I'm not talking Kmart reels, but real fishing gear. That was reason enough for me to go in and look around. It ended up that they didn't have the valve I needed (It was for a RV, makes things tricky), but were quick to recommend where we could get the valve. Good service is knowing what you have, great service is knowing who has what you don't. read more

I was just in your store an hour ago to buy a ball and rod assembly for my bathroom sink just like the one I bought there 3 to 4 weeks ago. I couldn't find the same item and I asked one of your employees if he could help me. He came back with Charlie who said we don't carry that. I said I previously bought one here. He said I have worked here ten years. I said then you should know that you carry this item. He said we don't. He basically called me a liar! So I went to the ACE on Marco Island which is one of your stores. I bought the item that I was looking for! I have taken a picture of it along with my receipt! If I could give this store "0" stars I would. When they were in the plaza it was a good store. I called this morning to ask a question for the key dept. and was put on hold over 20 minutes. I called back and got the key guy and when I said I been on hold over 20 minutes he said he had been in store for 2 hours and hung up on me. I called back and spoke to the manager who made an excuse they had phone problems. I explained my key broke in my ignition and I would have a friend bring me to get a new key but I wanted to know if they had the "fob", he hung up on me again. I will never go in this store again and will tell all of my clients how rude they are to people. read more

Very friendly and available staff and Ace probably has what you are looking for albeit often at a slightly higher price than a Lowe's or Home Depot. Of course, here at ACE you will get the service though unlike the big home improvement chains. Ace also has a much wider range of items and that's what makes it so fun to wander around. I had bought a sprinkler pump to install myself at a well supply store. I didn't know Ace sold them. I came to Ace to buy new wires to hook it up. I couldn't believe the amount of support they gave me. Ramiro helped me to take off the plate on the new pump to show me where to hook up the new wires and said, over and over, that he knew i could do it. I went home, those words of encouragement carried me through the difficult parts, and I did it. I would never have gotten that kind of support, the kind I needed, at one of the big box stores. The customer service is the reason to support and buy from Sunshine Ace. I have shopped with them for 20 years and, on those occasions where the price is a little higher, not always, I remember the hands on help they have always given me in finding the right product, guiding me through the repair, and encouraging me. For a woman, in a hardware store, it's necessary, because in other stores I'm not always treated as a customer, "just" a woman, and it knocks your self confidence when it happens over and over. Sunshine Ace, both downtown and on 951, are different. I'm glad to do business with a store that manages people, not numbers. That kind of support saved me over $100 that I would have paid a well service company to install the pump, and the confidence gained, is priceless. read more

I had come to rely on this business as my husband has dementia and can't help me when it comes to hardware items that are needed. a month ago I went in and dealt with Mike, who normally handles the fishing counter. he helped me find the item that I needed to fix a toilet. I had the directions with me and was clarifying how to use the socket wrench. what he was saying did not make sense to me, so I quoted something that one of my sons who is a Professional Engineer (PE) (an engineer licensed by a state board of registration to practice engineering.) His BS and Masters are in naval engineering. He graduated cum laude, with a masters degree. he has always told me, "lefty Lucy, righty tighty," so that I would remember how to tighten or loosen a screw.//Mike was nasty to me during the entire encounter. he didn't appreciate having to take me back to find the socket wrench. when I repeated this idiom, he said he'd been in the house building business for 40-years and hadn't ever heard that idiom. when I told him my son was an engineer who designs warship and subs for the government, he sarcastically said, "well, if that's how he does his job, good luck with his career." I specifically told him that my kid gave me that idiom to help mom remember a process.//I complained to Matt Kurtz, the store manager via letter. he did not respond to my letter, nor did I hear from Mr. Wynn, who is the owner. I'll stick with Home Depot. not only did Mike, the guy behind the fishing counter, insult me, he disparaged my son Who is very intelligent. More importantly, he succeeded in making me feel stupid when I came in asking for help. He knew that I was dealing with a husband who has dementia and that any home project for me was overwhelming. Two female cashiers knew the idiom. The store setup is very confusing. I always ask for help when I get there because their signage does not easily take me where I need to be. In this particular case, I wasn't even sure what type of tool I needed - I wasn't sure if it was called a socket wrench. The "Helpful Hardware Man" and Woman are always here and ready to assist. When you enter, they welcome you warmly, AND suggest that you take a basket for a possible additional discount. I have visited twice in the last month and both visits were very pleasant. On my last stop, I brought my damaged sprinkler head with me, thinking I needed a replacement. Ramon took it apart and showed me I only needed a small part that cost about four bucks. He got the new piece from the display,put it back together for me, and I was good to go. I had to make two exchanges on Rustoleum spray paint (both with defective nozzles) and it was no hassle at all. They have a nice display of bedding plants outside the store, and I found their prices to be lower than at the big box hardware stores. A pleasant experience all around. read more
