Do not mistaken Delta Sunshine Cab with Sunshine Cab (North Vancouver). There is a big difference in service. So took Sunshine Cabs from airport to downtown Vancouver. I was not charge a flat rate according to the airport rule. Since I was expensing my taxi, I didn't want to argue with the taxi driver. Second, he didn't help me with my luggage. I have taken taxi with different cab companies and they are the only one who did not help me with my luggage. He also didn't get out of the car to help me open the trunk. Note that the taxi driver was a guy as well and there was no excuse. I looked over at his screen and it seemed like they don't get much business (no list of next available job on screen). If it is a slow day for the driver, at least he should show some service. I gave him no tip. Note the ride was already more expensive compared to the other cabs. He wasn't taking the optimal way. read more

Avoid this company. We took the taxi on 4/21/2024 around 1:15pm, from Vancouver international airport to Richmond kwantlen poly university. The dishonest drive wanted to charge us more than the airport suggested price. When I ask why, he ask me to point out to him which $$ zone it belongs and the price has raised. I know the price by heart, as I travel every 2-3 weeks to Richmond for a while. Since he can't cheat me on the price, He refused me by paying him with credit card and said that it was a small amount. I end up paying him with the only $20 dollars bill that I had. read more

The courteous and friendly woman dispatcher ( forgot her name, starts with an S) offered to send us two cabs within 10 minutes when we thought we would miss our flight due to the incompetence of the northshore taxi service! Just had the misfortune to try and book a ride to the airport over the phone. The woman who spoke to me was rude, impatient and totally inappropriate in speaking to a member of the public. She wanted to book me a cab 2 and a half hours early to get from W. Van to the airport and when I questioned it she rudely said, "Well, you say a time then!" When I suggested a time of 3:30pm she said, "Ok, 3:30pm, yes or no!" I said, "No!" and told her that her service was terrible! read more

You'd think a taxi service would have professional drivers but is not the case with Sunshine Cabs. Cutting someone off and then tailgating them once they switch lanes to avoid crashing into you, yeah, that is what happened. Cab 104, a applaud you're driving skills and your choice to tailgate me as I slammed on my breaks to avoid a crash. Furthermore, I called in to speak to a manager regarding cab 104's driving, and since it was on the weekend the manager was not in. I was assured that I would get a call from a manager -- I am still waiting. Seems like your whole company needs to clean up their act, from your drivers, to the dispatcher, and the manager. read more

I ordered a taxi from Sunshine Cabs on Dec. 12, 2018. It was roughly 30 min late, despite my pick-up location being in North Van. After arriving, the driver drove me over $7 worth of fare in the wrong direction. When I tried to discuss this with the driver, he berated me, including yelling at me for being 'disrespectful' and ungrateful. It was unsettling how disproportionate his aggressive response was to my comments. He then refused to drive me to my location, and said he was taking me back home. However, he drove in the wrong direction back to my house, and so ended up dropping me off quite some distance from my house, to which I walked back in the pouring rain. I had to cancel my plans for the night, and my clothes were soaked. I cannot believe Sunshine Cabs would employ such a reckless, unpredictable, and aggressive person. I have autism, and felt quite unsafe around this individual. This is beyond poor service, to the point where I am concerned for the safety of passengers around this particular driver. read more

On 7/19/2019 We took a Sunshine cab from VCR airport to what was supposed to be the hotel where we had reservations........... I had given the cab driver a copy of the hotel reservation, which showed the location. He said he knew where it was. $32.00 + a $10.00 tip later, he dropped us as the wrong hotel. He had driven away before we realized it wasn't where we had reservations. We had to call another cab and pay an addl. fare and tip. Grrrrr! The hotel said it happens every day with that cab company. Makes you wonder if it's intentional. Requesting a refund - Doubtful that will happen!!! read more

I call on the day 20 mins before my ride to confirm my dog and me again.The cab turns up cab 58# The I get into the cab the driver looks me up and down and at my little dog saying he wont take animals.I BOOKED A dog friendly cab a day before here and confirmed 20 mins before my ride.I call dispatcher all the while staying put in the cab ( its 30 degrees outside) While the cab driver keeps talking BS at me and giving me evil looks.Dispatcher promises to send a new cab.The so and so #58 discriminating cab driver jogs on ,and a new cab "miraculously" turn up 15 min later. Sunshine cabs get your S... together!! You are providing a service NOT the other way around or id be getting the ride for free! This is 2019! We live in a big city get with the program.Ive added yet another driver number 58# to the no go list at sunshine its so annoying and stressful having to deal with this BS! I call North Shore cabs instead and get told might be 20 mins wait...I wait 10 mins no cab I call and get told they'll send a new cab...I finally flag a yellow cab that happens to be on the North shore and I get to work 15 mins late. The north shore cab companies discriminates big time I am sick of it it happens all the time!!! I do not drive so what am I to do ?! feel sorry for others in my situation. Just because I didn't remember the account number of the corp that was supposed to pay and I had to check it on my phone, they assumed I wasn't working for that company and they hang the phone. If I could give a negative rating I would. I had preordered a taxi online for the following day to go to the airport. The next day 10mins before the scheduled time I called sunshine cabs to confirm that a taxi was on the way. The taxi didn't show - so I called in again to check on the taxis ETA. The lady who picked up said I shouldn't book online because it's not guaranteed! Excuse me? Even the voice recording while I was on hold for the dispatch suggested to book online for convenience!!! A taxi eventually showed up 20mins late. In addition I had to swipe a decent collection of crumbs off the seat before getting into the cab. The only positive note was that the driver was very nice. If I could give zero stars I would. First time we tried calling, the operator said "fuck you" and hung up after trying to tell him the address. Second time, the operator tried to find the address but then said that the address was non-existent... And then got frustrated and said to call North Shore Taxi and hung up. The address wasn't hard to find, I just needed to get home. Don't waste your time or money with these people... They obviously don't want to treat anyone with respect nor want the money. Politely told the driver (cab C98) I had just had surgery and needed some help lifting my bag up a few stairs at the front of my house. After interrogating me about my surgery, he reluctantly agreed and I thanked him kindly, tipping him well with the expectation that he would do what he agreed to. He took my bag up three stairs and proceeded to walk back to his cab. When I pleaded with him to help me get it up the rest of the stairs, he said no and drove off. Incredibly appalling human being. I will NEVER EVER ride in a Sunshine Cab again. Yesterday, I took a Sunshine Cab taxi from Lonsdale Quay. The cab was dirty and looking at the driver's hair, he hadn't had a bath or shower in weeks. Would never use this service again. We were going to the cruise centre and the driver speeded so fast that we were afraid we would never arrive safely. He played his music so loud that my daughter who had a migraine had to ask him to turn it down. He did so reluctantly. When we arrived he informed us his credit card machine wasn't working in the terminal. We insisted we wanted to pay by card so my daughter had to go into the taxi again and he raced to the top of the ramp, took the credit card and he raced back into the terminal, she never had time to put on her seat belt. Car S7, October 18, at 4:45 pm was just caught urinating on a customer's house, no regard to the fact it is daylight in a family complex, when confronted, simply said, "I had to go". Called company, still waiting to hear back from GM. Likely nothing with be done about it, but I am guessing this was not his first time, and won't be his last. He handles people's credit cards/money. DO NOT TAKE THIS CAB COMPANY! We had taken a competitor from Downtown to the Lighthouse Park and all was smooth but when we called Sunshine Cab for the return it was a disaster. First he called and was extremely put out that he had to come to our location. Second he was 45 minutes late and when he did finally arrive he had the personality of a rock but this is where it gets really good. Instead of taking the shorter faster route we came from he takes us a few miles out of the way North to the highway saying it was faster. It wasn't faster but longer. Next we came to the bridge to head back into Vancouver and about 50 meters before the left turn he turns right into the mall parking lot and gives us a 15 minute tour of the various parking garages, shops and parking lots only to end up right back where we just were. lastly as we were approaching the hotel he drove the long way around the block instead of the shorter and more direct route. When we finally arrived I did confront him about why this cab ride was almost $20.00 more than the cab that had brought us and his answer was " I did it for you, to save you money". I showed him the receipt of the previous cab and the map on my phone showing how he had took me for a ride. The man got more agitated and snarky but then it got interesting as an Officer who had heard our discussion asked if everything was ok. Then his whole tune changed and he said " Pay whatever you want then". Seriously! Cannot wait until Uber comes to Vancouver to put these cabs out of business! read more

When booking a cab for the next day I goofed on the online booking form and phoned to make a correction. The despatcher was obviously rushed but took my information and made the changes although she was cut off when we were discussing the destination. About a half hour later she called me back saying that she was sorry we were cut off and made sure all was correct for tomorrow's cab. I have every anticipation it will work out well but I do feel I was treated professionally. I will review the ride after I have had it! read more

Cabbie opened truck I got in threw my purse beside me 5 dollars slipped onto the floor my hubby got in but with his feet he pushed the rubber mat onto my 5 cabbie turned around what are you doing then said that was his 5 it fell out of his sweater then gets mad and tells us to get the f@$k out of his cab he heard hubby say phone his manager we heard him on the phone lying and saying it was his money and not to send a cab to us I phoned to complain and the male dispatcher wouldn't even listen to us yelled over my voice I told him just parts of the story over his yelling he told me it was all hearsay and told me to phone north shore cab I am totally shocked hurt disappointed and mad never use this cab seriously be cabs are never like this disrespectful people at sunshine cabs read more

Last week I saw a Sunshine taxi cab S85, License plate KV 3067 that's equipped to transport folks in wheel chairs, parked in a handicap stall, but it didn't have a parking pass to do so. I called the taxi company and while on the phone, the driver came out. He was shopping in Walmart for himself and not even picking a disabled client up! Let me tell you that I was really pissed! While on the phone with the dispatch, I asked him where his placard is and why was he parked in that spot. He proceeded to show me the wheelchair emblem stuck on the side of his car...the kind that displays the taxi is that for picking up those in wheelchairs...NOT a placard at all. I told him he's not allowed to park there, so then...get this..he rolls up his pant leg and shows me an elastoplast knee brace he's wearing and says his knee is hurting so he's allowed to park there. Well, I starting taking his picture. He said I'm not allowed to, but the dispatch said "Oh yes you ARE allowed to take his picture". After all that cafuffle, I got back in my car where it was parked and the next thing I know, he has pulled out of the parking spot and is out if the cab, he is now blocking traffic and he walks over to my car, puts his phone camera right in my face and takes my picture. I don't know for what but that made me laugh. Sadly, his supervisor never called me back. A passerby heard and saw what happened and told me "Good for you"!. At least there's some people who care. read more
