I wish I could say my experience with Sunshine Chevrolet has been positive, but unfortunately, it has been nothing short of a nightmare. While our sales representative and the finance guy were genuinely helpful and made the purchase process smoother, the service department has been a major letdown from the very beginning. We bought our truck in July 2023, and what should have been an exciting new purchase quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. The first issue arose with a faulty door panel that was clearly falling apart. Despite bringing it to the service department multiple times, they insisted "nothing was wrong" or that "it was supposed to be that way." After a haphazard attempt to fix it--which left behind glue residue and dents--the gap in the panel remained. When we brought it back for the third time, they claimed there was nothing else they could do. We refused to accept that, as the panel looked terrible. To add insult to injury, we were later told that we were out of warranty when we brought it in for the third time. This was particularly frustrating, given that they never followed up with us regarding the status of our parts. Their communication is abysmal. The most recent debacle involved a recall on our converter. After confirming the issue, I was told the part was on national backorder. No problem--until I received a call a week later stating the part had arrived. I took my truck in, only to be informed after a mere 30 minutes that they had ordered the wrong part. How does that even happen? Throughout this process, Neil and Michael in the service department have been less than helpful. I've noticed a lack of basic customer service that I've experienced at other dealerships, such as staff coming to my vehicle to take my keys upon arrival and running my vehicle through a wash after service. Sunshine Chevrolet has done neither. They harass me weekly about trading in my vehicle when I have told them multiple times unless they are giving me a specific number I will not be trading it in. I cannot stress enough how disappointing this experience has been. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle or using the service department at Sunshine Chevrolet to think twice. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. read more

I bought a used 09 Traverse from Robert Rosser at Sunshine Chevy. He was the best salesman that i have ever delt with and I tradE cars A LOT. First off they offered me 2k more for my trade than any other dealership and my car was priced extremely well for the mileage and condition of my car. So I had had my car for 4 months and the transmission started acting up. I take it to sunshine Chevy and luckily it was an issue that GM was aware of and was covered under an extended warranty. After having my car back for less than a week we decide to take a beach trip. As we get on the interstate my cars transmission starts slipping and luckily it happens as were passing the exit for Sunshine Chevy. We take it by there and David Pressley checks it out and tells us that we cannot take the car and that he has a rental car available but its a smaller SUV. We try to put our suitcases in the SUV and no go. So I tell David it won't work he says well give me a minute to see what I can do. He comes back and says I think we can get you an equinox but he has to go and get it from another place. About 30 mins go by and he pulls up in a brand new 2016 traverse. This was by far the best service I have ever had ANYWHERE. I will never go to another dealship if I can help it. read more

I've been driving Hondas for over a decade. As I neared the end of my previous lease, I was open to other brands. Honda blew me off pretty good when I approached them, so I began shopping around. I was impressed from the moment I walked into Sunshine Chevrolet. The floor was clean enough to eat off of (My dog still gave it a thorough going-over. Yes - they are dog friendly.) Anyone who so much as crossed my path greeted me and asked me how I was. I got a tour of the place so that I know where to find what I need when I visit. They offered to water my dog and apologized when I had to wait for ten minutes, lol. They took a lot of time to make sure I understood all the bells and whistles on my new Chevy. The owner introduced himself to me and asked me to let him know if there was anything he could do for me! Granted, this is the South, but this has never happened to me in the big city! As hard as they tried to get my business, the other Chevy dealer wouldn't touch the deal that Sunshine gave me. In the end I was happy about that because Sunshine really made me want to do business with them. I'm convinced that they gave me the best deal in Asheville. Dealership experiences are more often than not negative for the most part. I can honestly say that I have never encountered that at Sunshine Chevy. While looking for a car, I became interested in a impala that they had on the lot although I had been looking for something else. In the process of looking I had found what I was looking for somewhere else. When I told the sales staff about it I thought for sure I was going to get the cold shoulder. I couldn't have been more wrong. They even checked up on the other dealer for me to give me a clue as to there service. On top of all that the service department there is not only full of top notch GM Techs but each one of these fellas has experience with other makes. I take my wife's Traverse their to be serviced (oil, tire rotation, etc.) on a regular basis and there always offering sweet deals on those. Highly recommend Jack Allen, David Pressley, Dennis Mather, and Jeff Bragg. All of the techs are awesome especially the transmission guy Cassie Griffin, this guy took care of the transmission in my Traverse and kept me in the loop through the whole process and even showed me what was going by taking me into the shop. read more

I had an unfortunate incident Sunday 9/27/2020, when a hex tool on the road lodged in the tire of my new Camaro, while traveling from Gatlinburg to Lexington NC. Of course nothing was open on Sunday to have the tire replaced, so the car was towed to Sunshine Chevy. Monday morning I called to ask them to please replace the tire as soon as possible as we were stuck in a hotel in Biltmore Park, Asheville with no transportation and really needed to return to Lexington for an appt before 2 pm. I had the privilege of speaking with a very kind gentleman named Jon Shelton in the service dept. Jon was wonderful! He was understanding of our dilemma, he kept us informed of the time needed to get the new tire in and time to get it installed. And then, he drove to our hotel to pick us up to bring us to the dealership to retrieve our car! WOW! That is incredible service and absolutely going the extra mile - quite literally - to help us! Thanks to Jon and the service dept, we made it back to Lexington for our appt before 2 pm. I will definitely recommend Jon and Sunshine Chevy to all of my friends in the Asheville area! Jack and the entire service department are wonderful! I have taken my Trailblazer to them since moving here 7 years ago, and I am always treated well and they do an amazing job. They are very quick to service my vehicle, and I have never once been treated like I am a woman who knows nothing about cars. I have nothing but good things to say about their service department, but sales is a different story with a much lower rating. I did not appreciate how I was treated when my husband and I went there to look at the Traverse and Tahoe. Even after he told the saleswoman we were leaving (who btw was not the salesperson we were scheduled to meet with that day and time), she continued to email me. Unforunately, I had to get rather harsh with her via email to stop contacting me and that I would not purchase any vehicle from her. Had a wonderful experience from start to finish. After filling out a request online for more information on a 2017 Cruze LT I was promptly contacted the by the internet cordinator Kacey Hoppe, who set me up with an appointment and gave me directions to the showroom. Upon arrival I was greated by another Kasey in sales and he came with me to test drive the car and expertly answered all of my questions regarding the new revamped Cruze. When we returned after an impressive ride I was introduced to Robert Rosser took me through the final process. He was great and helped me pick out a wonderful car at a fabulous price. I felt the service department was awesome. In a manner unheard of in other service departments, they tried to save me money on a repair by using a fuel cleaning product for a couple months. As it happened this didn't work, but I am extraordinarily impressed that they tried to help me in this way!
