About 2016 a nightmare!! Well to begin with I went in to get help with grinding and hopefully get a guard and save my teeth. I was presented with veneers when i asked about lumineers, which I got the info for this practice off a comercial. What i got were not lumineers or veeners made in a lab ,but composit brushed over my teeth. I had previously been shown veeneers on a model ( lab made) and were told this is how yours are going to look. Well when i had an impression made if my mouth I understood that it was to make the veneers, not the case. Dr Jaime made me a guard only and whnni thought she was putting on the veeneers she began to goop them on my teeth. At this point i was not sure what was happening already under anestisia. i asked after, if they had put the veeners on as offered and they were also supposed to cover the back of the teeth and they did not. Besides the small amount of smoothing the front of the teeth to put on the so called veeners turned into my teeth being drilled so thin they have since broken. The 6 front teeth. The hygenist with the dr present proudly no she created them with a brush on your teeth shes an artist. After all this i had complained many times of crooked looking teeth breaks and staining as well as my bite being off and the bottom hitting the top teeth. Those notes were not made correctly and made to look like i was happy. When I told Dr. Jaime to fix my guard to make my teeth repostion not to hit the top and to please not grind my teeth down at all. She proceeded to lie to me and drilled the back portion off all my six teeth, which made them so thin they broke. she said she was removing left over composite material. I am now in bracees will need 6 crowns costing me near 15k to fix her lack of competence and ethics. When i asked for my records they refused to give them to me right away and then when i got them they were a mess and doctored. I also dug deeper and found malpractice suits for similar situations and medicaid fraud. Do not got to this person it caused me trauma and years of heart break due to my broken teeth!!! The staff and dentist are really friendly. They did their best to make my kids feel at ease. The waiting room is bright, warm, and pleasant. The reasons for 2 stars is: 1) the exam chair was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned. There was a heap of lint and hair on the floor at the foot of the exam bed. This makes me question the cleanliness of the instruments going into my child's mouth. 2) the ADA recommends that dentists should always perform a clinical examination and evaluate a person's oral and medical history before taking any X-rays. Further, X-rays for kids should be done annually. I explicitly said my child had X-rays 6 months ago and that I refuse X-rays but they pushed to get an entire set prior to the exam. My child's oral health is great. He's never had a cavity and he has sealants. I don't like being pushed to get an X-ray when it's not medically necessary. Please don't make the excuse that you can't see if cavities are starting. Though that's true, use your medical expertise to glean clues during the exam that would indicate high risk people in whom the X-rays would be necessary. 3) I asked the dentist about research she's familiar with regarding kids, X-ray exposure, and recommended frequency of X-rays. She said she doesn't do research and recommended google as a source to get my answer. No medical professional I know, including myself, recommends google as a good source for medical information. There's SO much misinformation here. While there are many good things about this place, it doesn't jive with my needs to want to return. read more

I guess I am the proverbial "old man" since I am almost 60 years old. Given my age, I have been to dentists in many states across the country and without a doubt, Dr. Jaime is the BEST! She is a truly talented dentist and she always impresses me. Whenever I first became Dr. Jaime's patient, the condition of my mouth was somewhat embarrassing. After being treated by Dr. Jaime for a while, I am no longer embarrassed to smile. Dr. Jaime, and Addie, her outstanding office manager, will make you feel as if you are part of the family. I have had very bad teeth my whole life due to soft enamel & lack of proper dental technique education as a kid. Consequently, when I recently came in to see Dr Jaime at Sunshine Dental I had a mouth full of 50+ year old metal fillings that were in bad condition, a few crowns put in approximately 8-30 years ago, and several teeth that had broken off pieces missing. My mouth was a mess. Practically every tooth needed some kind of attention. After several visits, I appreciate the expertise, professionalism, and easy friendliness of Dr Jaime and her staff. I especially like the emphasis she places on educating her patient on the proper steps & techniques going forward to maintain the work she's doing in the mouth and to achieve overall dental health. She obviously wants her patients to get maximum lifespan from their dental procedures. Her perspective of dental health being a team effort is refreshing. The nine crowns that she's put in for me so far fit, feel, look, and work great! I have a few more crowns to add yet and some stabilizing work to do before we will be finished. Obviously this amount of work is not going to be cheap, especially at the high level of proficiency exhibited by Dr Jaime and her crew so far. But quality workmanship comes at a premium and for a reason. This is an investment I am making to get my mouth (finally) in shape for the rest of my life. I found this dental office online for my girlfriend and let me just say, we are both so glad that I chose Sunshine Dental! We had such a pleasant visit, as soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the front desk receptionist, Addie, was especially friendly and even offered us cold water, coffee and cookies. Addie was also extremely helpful when it came to figuring out payment plans and insurance. Dr. Lilian H. Jaime was amazing! She explained everything thoroughly and was very friendly and professional. Dr. Jaime greeted me (alongside her very kind associate) at the front desk, answered my preliminary questions, cleaned my teeth and actually took the time to have a conversation with me about a concern I have with a tooth that has suffered trauma. She explained ALL of my options, not just the most profitable. Dr. Jaime took an X-Ray and took the time to explain what was happening to my tooth in depth and advised me with the most sensible (and believe it or not least expensive) option. Her assistant/ front desk associate then had a private office for which to close my visit and schedule my next appointment. I had an unpleasant experience here but was not going to write a review until I had another unpleasant conversation with Kate this morning. At this point, I just want to warn people before they make the mistake of visiting this dentist. I purchased two Groupons which included an exam, cleaning and x-rays. Prior to purchasing them, I called the office to make sure that they were comfortable dealing with children. I was assured that this would not be a problem since the dentist had children of her own. So, I took my 4-year-old to have her first exam. I assumed that she would not be receiving x-rays because of her age but I wanted the dentist to at least do an exam. Well, contrary to what I was told prior to purchasing the Groupons, nobody in this office was experienced dealing with children. When my daughter would not open her mouth to the hygienist, the dentist came in to try. She asked my daughter to open her mouth and looked extremely angry when she was unsuccessful. The dentist told me that she was going to get her assistant and they would try again but she never came back. Instead, the assistant came in and told me the dentist would not be trying again and my daughter could not be examined. When I informed her that my daughter was complaining of some pain during brushing, the hygienist grabbed her arm and got in her face, telling her that she needed to open her mouth. Obviously, that was the last straw and we left. I did inform Groupon and was, luckily, issued a refund for that voucher. However, I had my older daughter use the other Groupon. Following her exam, she was given a treatment plan that included the filling of six or seven cavities at a cost of $1,700. Considering she was at the dentist not more than a 1 1/2 ago, I thought it was strange that she would need so much work. I decided that I would get a second opinion. When I contacted Sierra Dental last night to ask about picking up my daughter's x-rays, I was told that it would be no problem. However, this morning I received a call from Kate informing me that the x-rays would cost $32. Obviously, I was quite angry since that additional charge was not included anywhere on the Groupon and I was never told of this at the time of my daughter's appointment. I told her that this sounded like a scam to me and that they were trying to get as much money as possible from patients. Kate informed me that I paid $29 for a visit that is normally $300. First, $300 for an exam, cleaning and x-rays is ridiculous. Second, the dentist opted to offer a Groupon at that discounted price. It appears that they used the Groupon to lure in new patients and then tell them that they need a laundry list of, possibly, unnecessary work. There is no way that I am giving these people any more money. I will gladly pay for a new set of x-rays from a reputable dentist that I know actually cares about their patients rather than one that is just trying to make as much money as possible. So, with all that said, I would recommend that you not visit Sierra Dental and that you ask questions about extra fees if you are ever thinking of purchasing a Groupon for a dental visit. read more

One of the worst dental experiences I have EVER had. Dr. Jaime botched a root canal, tooth became abscessed, and had to be extracted. She said she would make good on her mistake, never did. For some reason I continued to go back to her. Needed another root canal and she referred me to another dentist/ specialist. He did a great job. Dr. Jaime set the crown, and it lasted about a month before it broke. She sent me back to the same specialist to build up the broken tooth, but the specialist just redid the root canal. Apparently Dr. Jaime's' office did not get the paperwork to the specialist, and he re-did the root canal, and not the build up. She wanted me to go back to the specialist and have him do the build up. Her office made the mistake, not me, but I would have to pay for it out of pocket/ insurance. It seems they make one mistake after the other, and I have developed a lot of fear and anxiety about going to ANY dentist, and would NEVER go back to her. She goes through office staff like toilet paper, and treats her staff like incompetent idiots, speaks down to them. Plus, she has TV's turned to home improvement shows WHICH SHE WATCHES WHILE DOING DENTAL WORK. No wonder she can't get anything right. Turn off the TV's and quit watching TV while working on a patient!!! I wish I could say something positive about this place, but there isn't anything positive. Save yourself a lot of trouble, money and frustration and go somewhere else!!! read more
