We were very happy with each phase of our first day with this company. They set us up with their 1st available appointment that was over a month out, but put us on a call earlier list if there is a cancellation. This was great for us, because as retirees we could be available at a days notice. Both of us got calls to come in earlier than our scheduled appointments. Front desk staff were very efficient at processing Maggie & I as 1st time patients. The dental team makes the 1st appointment 2hrs long to do a very thorough exam. They want your input to get your level of involvement in the dental care process. The equipment they have is top of the industry standard. It gives the patient a good view of dental issues, allowing a more knowledgeable choice by patient & Dentist. We never felt pressured to additional care that wasn't truly required at the present time. We were given a break down priority list of items needed & told they would work with us on payment steps based on the priority list. Even given discounts on how payments can be made. Burned bad! I needed a new dentist, or so I thought…read more went to Tijeras location. Had X-rays and cleaning. Knew I needed a crown my last dentist had said. Yep, Gaylina Reachi found it did, then added two other back teeth needing crowns. She did not show me the X-rays which every dentist had always done. Very unprofessional I felt. I went back to my old dentist who had taken X-rays recently. He did the one crown he'd noticed. I ask about the other two crowns Gaylina Reachi said I needed. No crowns needed on those teeth he said. For dentists to prescribe unneeded dental work is a practice that is wrong, fraud dentistry and harms patients oral health and essentially steals their money. It is morally wrong in every way. Office policy is that it is the patients responsibilty to know their dental coverge, not the dentist. I feel All parties must work together to reach a satisfactory outcome. I will never cross the threshold of their doorway and happily spread my experience.

He was careful and thoughtful as we talked through the situation, looked at the films and came up with a plan of action which includes replacing one crown and closing a large gap next week. He also addressed an infection that may be brewing and showed me how to manage a gum pocket until my next appointment. Dr. Ollason also has a great team in place and everyone is efficient and very competent.

Unfortunately you always seem to be waiting for a doctor to check the dental technician's work and provide a quick assessment. The waiting time is usually more than expected, which makes your appointment last longer than anticipated. Some of the treatment rooms aren't fully private, as they have a wall that doesn't fully extent to the exterior wall. You can hear the patient next to you, which is dislike. I have switched to another practice since Parkway dropped my insurance provider. I received a notification from my insurance carrier, but not from Parkway. The courtesy of a notification from the practice would have been appreciated.

This review is a long time coming. My dentist retired in 2018 and I went to Byron Wall because one…read moreof his specialties was TMJ. I had 5 abfractions, where a small piece of the tooth has broken loose due to clenching. Wall was going to fill the abfractions, but also wanted to grind my teeth to fix the clenching. I was told, "I just do a very minimal grinding, about the width of a hair, and it can make a huge difference, this allows the jaw to relax, and then you won't clench and cause more abfractions. " I agreed to only have the abfractions filled, and to wait on the grinding, but I was told that I would have to sign a release that if they did not do the grinding, then the fillings might fall out, and they would not be responsible. The fillings were horrible, big globs of material that were very rough and jagged. There was no way to floss as it would get tangled in the jagged filling material. And because of the grinding he did, now I was scrapping my teeth on one side of my mouth. I returned several times, and each time he said that more griding was needed. He tried to sand down the excess material on the fillings, but this was impossible to get smooth. Neither process worked. I had difficulty getting through to Byron Wall, he is very busy, and it is difficult to get him to listen. The clenching was worse, now I had pain radiating to my eye and head. When I chew on the right side, my teeth scrape tother on the left side. Then I was told, "Sometimes it takes up to a year of grinding to get things to be right." I spent $2,411 with Byron Wall. Now I had to find a TMJ specialist to fix the new problem created by Wall where I scrape on one side when I eat. And to fix the horrible fillings he put in. I asked for a refund. Byron Wall refused. In a letter he said that he had recommended crowns and that I had refused. Crowns for what? Crowns were never discusssed. He said he performed all that I had asked him to do. I left Byron Wall and became extra cautious. I met with these dentists: Alicia Abeyta, Greg Sanchez, David Willoughby, Wayne Luco, and Robert Supple. Everyone of these dentists said the fillings done by Wall would all have to be removed and redone. They could not understand why he would put such big globs on my teeth-- Willoughby said that one of the globs was like a cave--a place for a cavity to start. Robert Supple said that he can fix the clenching and hopefully the chewing problem created by Wall. He said that grinding the teeth before getting the jaw aligned and stable is backwards. I said that one of the reasons I went to Byron Wall is that he was named Dentist of the Year. One of these five dentists said, "Unfortunately people put value to that when a dentist can pay to be dentist of the year." It has taken a very long time to recover from the work of Byron Wall. I would have given zero stars if that were available. David Willoughby removed and re-filled all of the five fillings done by Wall. Willoughby said the standard is, "smooth as glass" and that's what Willoughby did. Robert Supple was fabulous had helped me tremendously with the clenching and scrapping one one side created by Wall.

I have truly enjoyed working with this establishment over the last two years. I had some mild…read morecorrective work to be done on a full set of teeth, including wisdom: Closing top gap between central incisors (8,9), lateral incisor movement forward (26), and some cuspid rotations to name a few. I ended up here because I wanted a second opinion. The first place I went to suggested to me that only braces would do the trick for alignment and to correct mild mandibular retrognathia, the consideration of mandibular osteotomy and distraction osteogenesis. It was thorough I'll give them that, but I wanted Invisalign. My alignment issues were cosmetic at least or only negligibly deficit in function at worst so all of that seemed excessive. So I decided to part ways with that establishment and seek a course of treatment elsewhere. I do not remember how I came across Haltom Orthodontics, but it was definitely a worthwhile discovery. The evaluation was thorough and the communication was an open dialog between patient and doctor. I discussed my expectations and desired treatment and listened to how that could fit in my plan of care. They accepted my insurance, Delta Dental, and I paid the rest using in-house financing; it was a simple process. I was able to pay for the entire treatment over the course of a year. So, long story short I was able to get an all Invisalign treatment plan, correct my alignment deficits & functionality, minimize the mild retrognathia and keep my fully functional wisdom teeth. Post-plan corrections and tweaks are part of the deal to hone in the finishing touches and I opted to keep final retainers as aligners, and not a permanent fixture, also a conversation of options. I love dialog! From the front desk to assistants and molders to Dr. Darren Haltom himself, the entire staff is friendly and welcoming.
