He strives to get your gums healthy in addition to the teeth cleaning, x-rays and whatever dental needs one has. We were devoted patients of different dentist that had retired. Stressed out and in need of a new great dentist, we were referred to Dr. Z who came highly recommended by my FIL. We started at the Canoga Park location and now have followed Dr. Z to the Chatsworth office. But really we would follow Dr. Z to the moon and back for taking such good care of our teeth, gums and everything oral! The cleanings are painful but great. A good teeth cleaning feels so cathartic to me. He assess your gums thoroughly. For mine, he spots out areas that bleed easily and focuses on clearing out the bad gums, treating with a rinse and recently a local antibiotic to kill what's affecting the gum area. Then he follows all of that with a discussion on how to brush your teeth the right way; top to bottom and not side to side which apparently destroys the gums. And if your a teeth grinder, he can make a mouth guard to sleep with. He has all the tools in his arsenal and he also thinks outside the box! I of course have had fillings, root canals, an implant, etc. Those all went well and were somehow not too financially painful as compared to other offices. He also refers out for services that he does not do in his office. So he is very professional.

I needed a full gum surgery few years ago, and one of the periodontist I asked would have done the surgery sedated. I am not saying it was wrong, some people prefers being sleep, I on the other hand was running away from that really well respected doctor. Dr Amin suggested the laser surgery, without sedation, I was aware whats happening, Dr Amin informed me before and during the surgery what she was doing and why. I prefer that a doctor explaining things for me, and treating me as a partner. Because at the end of the day, it is a team work. I should do what the doctor recommends, otherwise I can not expect perfect healing. After a long healing I guess it was a year, I decided to change my bridge, and have an implant. There was no question that I would go back to Dr Amin, who is an expert in this field. I am very excited that my implant is healing perfectly and by September the procedure would be completed. For cleaning I am going to my regular dentist office, but once a year everybody should go for a deep cleaning to their periodontist. Thank God, Dr Amin's daughter also a periodontist so her knowledge and expertise is continuing to the next generation as well.

I just met Dr. de Leon for the first time and he too is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. All the employees here are really nice, very helpful and good people.
