Needed dental implant consultation and found MK dental group in-network from my provider as a Dental Implant provider. Called made appointment for 9am the next day. Recieved a call shortly after and was asked to change 945am. Cool, no problem. Get there a few mins early and fill out new patient forms and waited over 20mins. Turns out 1010 the X-ray tech walks in with her sbux drink and then I'm finally let in. Not sure if this was her first or very few X-rays but she was not very coordinated. Took over 6 attempts and with the help with the lady at the front desk and multiple repeats of which tooth to take X-ray images of my tooth. Front desk lady then randomly started tapping my teeth with a stick, not sure why so I asked her what are you doing? She said she wanted to be sure she has the right tooth. Had she asked me first before tapping, I would've told her I had a root canal done on the suspected tooth I need an implant, so I'm not going to feel any tapping. Very frustrating. Dr came in. Very nice guy but his advertisement is a bit deceptive. It says Dental implants on his webpage. That's the whole reason I came there. When i initially brought up him doing the implant, he redirected the the conversation. After the second time he tells me he doesn't actually do the procedure but farms it out to "his group of people" basically someone else. All in all, it was a complete waste of time. He got paid for the X-rays and consultation and my gut was telling me to walk out that door and I should've listened to it. Fine place for general dental stuff. Fillings, cleaning etc but anything else not confident. read more

I have been coming to MK Dental Group since they took over the practice from my previous dentist, Dr. Fass, who I had gone to my entire life. Despite moving to Ventura, I continue to commute to MK Dental Group for all my dental needs as I am hesitant to trust anyone else. When I come here I trust that I am getting the best dental care available to me. They also use modern technologies. I recently had to invest in veneers for my two front teeth, which is an expensive process not covered by my insurance, and I am extremely happy with how they came out. I wanted a natural look and the color and shape is a perfect match to what my natural teeth were, you would never know they are veneers. I highly recommend MK Dental Group to anyone looking for quality dental care. The office staff are also very friendly, which is a plus! The pros: the dentist seemed nice, but I didn't get a chance to have any work done. Location was convenient with access to parking which was free. All in all. They didn't seem to want to help. I was misinformed about insurance on multiple occasions, I received an incomplete cleaning and was billed $350 for this experience. Here's what happened. After being assured multiple times they called and confirmed they were in network with my insurance I scheduled my first appointment which included a consult, x-rays, and cleaning. This was not the case, they were out of network and I received a bill 2 months later. During my first appointment I was informed that I needed a deep cleaning though I had a cleaning 8 months prior with another dentist. Due to this, the hygienist partially cleaned my teeth, avoiding certain sensitive and/or build up areas; I was not offered numbing cream to complete the job and left with an incomplete cleaning. If you are unaware, all dental offices offer numbing cream during cleanings for multiple reasons (sensitive gums, sensitive to pain, trouble areas such as cavities, etc.). During the cleaning, I explained how I have bruxism and heard Botox was a solution, which was confirmed. I asked for a Botox recommendation for jaw clenching, I was informed of two, one near me and one in West LA. When I followed up to get the information I was informed they couldn't give it because it had to be a referral from the dentist...hahahaha I don't need a referral for Botox, these clinics conduct their own assessments and do not require a referral. It took about a week of chatting back and forth before they reluctantly gave me information which was for the west la option only. read more

This place scams you and steals your money. The professionalism is at a 0, and the way the dentist and his team talk and handle things are classless and tacky. I went in due to a filling falling out. After X-rays, I was told I need a root canal. They said My insurance hadn't processed yet, so I asked them to schedule My appointment once it did. After a week, they scheduled Me an appointment under the guise that My insurance went through and paid for it. I showed up and that was a lie. The front desk lady, Evelyn, made a stupid face whiling trying to be cute and went "Soorrrrryyy. It's going to be $1600." I responded to her that I wasn't supposed to have an appointment until my insurance went through. She responded, "Well it hasn't yet. Once it does, we'll give you back the amount they cover." Evelyn also had no price guide for Me to show any proof of what I'd be paying for, what the crown price would be, or any options. I paid the $1600 out of fear of losing a tooth while trying to find a new dentist. Big mistake. I then told her to schedule Me for the crown only after My insurance had gone through. Evelyn said she would. She then would not give Me any price list or tell Me how much the crown would be. I get a call saying My appointment was set over a week later. Again, under the guise that My insurance had pulled through and finally paid for everything. I show up. Evelyn makes the same face, smiling and thinking she's being cute, only to say "Soorrrrrrryy, it's going to be $1900." Wtf? I told her absolutely not. That she scheduled Me against what we had talked about and that she lied about My insurance going through. She responded the same as the first time, "Well it hasn't yet." I refused to pay because this was shady and said to cancel the appointment; and that I won't be paying the fee for late cancellation. The dentist came out and had the nerve TO ARGUE WITH ME. He kept going, "Well how much can you pay right now?" "How much can you give Me?" I kept saying over and over that he was not getting another dime out of Me and that the communication from this place was awful. He got pretty aggressive about getting any amount of money from Me and refused to stop demanding some amount from Me, knowing that we were not going to do the crown that day anyway. He even tried to switch it up and guilt trip Me and went "Well I already sent the crown to the lab so is there anything you can give for that?" Beyond tacky and classless. Which makes no sense since they apparently had the crown ready to put on there. I refused to be bullied by this shady dentist and his accomplices. He finally switched it up and started smiling all fake nice and THEN began to care to ask how the root canal felt and if I was feeling pain. Only 10min after trying to rob Me of any amount of cash. I found a new dentist asap. Then I also found out that Mt insurance had in fact paid them! There were trying to get double payment from Me and My insurance company. I told MK Dental and demanded the back the amount they said they'd give back after insurance went through. Evelyn began lying saying that the money was used for a filling(I never got a filling there). Then changed that it was used for the crown(never got the crown done there). Then changed that they didn't cover enough(I saw the bill via insurance). And continued to make excuses. I demanded a receipt and the money back. She refuses to give Me one. Then said, "I just work here." Then claimed that only the dentist could make them. I threatened to do a backcharge with My bank. I received a bill, with someone else's treatments on it, that they sloppily tried to revise with My name and My root canal. I put a back charge with My bank for the money they stole. MK Dental has continuously lied and claims that I signed a paper stating that I consented to them keeping both payments. I read what I sign. That never happened. I have demanded this apparent document with no response. They still have My money to this day. Now the actual procedure-- The root canal at this office was beyond stressful and uncomfortable. The dentist assistant was jittery, talked non-stop, and extremely amped up. The dentist told Me that he might not even be able to finish the entire procedure because she took too long to set up and they were behind due to her talking... like what? Then during the procedure, the assistant knocked a bunch of stuff over, laughed about it, and left it all on the floor; only to trip on the same equipment and fell over the top of My body while the dentist had a drill inside of My tooth. This place is shady and sketchy as hell; as well as beyond unorganized. Do not risk your money and time here. I almost lost a tooth, on top of a mass amount of money, having to find a new dentist due to MK Dental. read more

There are not enough good things I can say about Dr. Michael and his team at MK Dental. I had been searching for a good dentist for a very, very long time. My experience with my prior dentist was absolutely horrible and painful, scarring me and causing me to avoid a dentist all together. Finally, I found this office. Starting with Sarah at the desk, she is absolutely lovely, and so easy to work with. Scheduling the consultation was very easy. Upon arriving at the office, you can tell it is clean, well taken care of and welcoming. My hygienist, Zarah was so easy to talk to. I felt heard expressing my concerns, and not judged. She explained the process very well and had the most gentle hand. I didn't feel any discomfort with my cleaning. The second team member (I can't remember her name! ) took my x-rays, and was so funny! Super easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. Finally, there is Dr. Michael. WHAT. A. GEM. Wow!! He also made me feel heard, laid out a whole treatment plan, and answered every question. Like Zarah, he had the most gentle hand, and the numbing of my mouth, and filling of my cavities could not have gone any better. Any fear that I had of the dentist was completely blown away by this incredible team. I could not have asked for a more genuine, humble warm, knowledgeable group of professionals that is found in this office. I was so nervous about the whole process and thought about canceling or postponing the procedure. I have been going to MK Dental for 3 years now. The dentist is very kind and does his job well. HOWEVER, they do not communicate with you AT ALL regarding cost and insurance. Today was the 3rd time I had an "outstanding" balance. I had a balance on 3/31/22, 8/30/22, and 11/29/22. Every time I go in I will ask the right questions in regard to what the cost will be and what the insurance will cover. I have been assured many times that, "it's covered". My outstanding balance today is because my cleaning wasn't 6 months apart..... my cleaning appointment was 9 DAYS from the 6 month mark. If I had known, I would have waited for my cleaning appointment rather than forking out an unnecessary $200. Also, the person who referred me to MK Dental left a year ago for the exact same reason and truthfully I should have left when they told me to. It would have saved me A LOT of money this year!! I do not recommend this dentist at all. There is definitely something shady going on. read more

Mom said the office was pristine and that everyone was absolutely wonderful, professional and competent. Dr Michael Khorramian did an excellent job, and Mom wanted to especially thank Yuri the dental hygienist, Naaz with reception and Sandra with x-ray for taking such good care of her. I never had a great experience at the dentist, but Dr Khorramian did such a fantastic job and ensured that I was comfortable throughout the process that I no longer need to fear getting something to my teeth done. He was very attentive and ensured I understood what was needed and walked me through the process. Additionally, my wife had some work performed and was extremely pleased with the process. You can see that Dr Khorramian takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist which are two traits that every dentist should have.
