That has never happened to me at any other dental office. I can honestly write a million things about how great Dr. Arsen is, but until you walk through the door and experience it yourself, you won't fully understand. He's not just an incredible dentist -- he's genuinely a great person. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually like and trust going to the dentist now. The front office staff is just as amazing, especially Martha. She truly went above and beyond in ways you rarely see anymore. She stayed on top of me to make sure I didn't miss appointments, knew I had a habit of running late, and jumped through hoops to help keep me on track -- without ever making me feel uncomfortable or judged. She even took the extra step to coordinate with my wife and my dad (who I work with) to make sure I could get to my appointments on time. That level of dedication is almost impossible to find. What really sets this office apart is that everyone here truly cares about your well-being. This is not one of those places where you feel rushed or treated like just another patient for a paycheck. This doctor talked me into buying a tooth guard I didn't want and didn't need. He was insisting I grind my teeth. I was telling him I think I grinded my teeth in the past but I don't think I do it anymore. I don't know why I doubted myself. I should have seen the red flag when I asked him how much it is and he said "I don't know." When I finished my cleaning it was on the bill for $450 and I paid it, I can't explain why. I was stupid for doing that, I know. My wife confirmed when I got home that no, I do not grind my teeth any longer. Early the next morning I emailed to cancel. No one replied so I called later in the day and they said there might be a lab fee but the person who deals with the lab is out sick for the week. I called again today 1 week later and she said unfortunately they can't give me any refund. Letting people know I wouldn't trust this place. It is BS that the Dr. didn't know how much they are selling their products for. It is also BS that they "couldn't cancel because the person who does it is out sick." To top it off, this whole past week, no one from their office has called me or emailed back. I've had to be the one to call them each time.

When I first went in I needed a cleaning, I usually need a deep cleaning, so I didn't question when they suggested it. The dentist was informative, the staff was friendly. Even though I felt like they were upselling other services, it really wasn't any different than most shady dental practices. That is until I sent my 25 year old son in to get a cleaning. He was falling off my insurance in a week and only needed a cleaning. They did not do the cleaning, instead they told him he required a deep cleaning. I told him to pass on it and just do the standard cleaning that's included with insurance. Long story short, they told him they legally were not able to perform a basic cleaning because he required a deep cleaning. Mind you, he's 25 years old and has excellent dental habits and a million dollar smile. I ended up calling the office and the office manager (forget his name) was so rude and unprofessional. He wouldn't let me speak with the owner and insisted my son needed a deep cleaning. First impressions were not great, the place is extremely outdated, and it was so hot in there!! I came in and filled out the paperwork. The dental assistant seated me and took X-rays. The doctor comes in and examines my teeth/gums with her mirror and begins to question me about how often I floss. Proceeds to recommend a special gum cleanse (hasn't even been 6 months since my last check up/cleaning). She leaves and tells me her front desk lady will come in and quote me. At this point, I'm confused because after looking at my X-rays and teeth, she didn't catch the giant hole in my tooth?? Not only that, but not once was I asked by anyone the reason for my visit. The front desk lady comes in and quotes me $40 today for gum cleansing. Seems to me that they're looking for easy money. I display my frustration and tell her no, I'm here because I have a broken filling that I want to get fixed, even though I wrote down that I have a broken filling on paper before being called inside. She called the doctor back in, and she examined my teeth again, saying she didn't see it. I was quoted, a few days later, I called to get statements printed for the procedure, but their printer was broken and I would be receiving it in the mail. Never received anything. Clearly, they do not care about their patients. Will not be returning.

Oftentimes, it was difficult for me to get out of work so I would arrive late and miss my appointment but rather than making me reschedule he would take care of me in between other patients as much as he could and if necessary, stay late and finish up after his regular business hours because he knew I was coming from an hour away and probably wouldn't be able to get out of work again for another month, probably. I had a dental emergency years later after I was no longer living in the area and no longer had insurance coverage but was able to squeeze me in and pulled the tooth that was causing me so much pain. Dr. Papazian was always extremely patient and gentle. I referred my mom and my brother and my ex-husband took his new gf there because she was so afraid of going to the dentist but he remembered that I always said Dr. Papazian never hurt me, which is true. Unlike other dentists, he never rested his hands on my face either unless he absolutely had to which was nice and greatly appreciated. I haven't been there in 10 years but recently I had to visit a dentist in Las Vegas and I couldn't help but remember how stress-free my visits had always been with Dr.Papazian. Horrible experience here…read more Let's start with my first appointment... A few weeks ago I booked an appointment to come in for my consultation since I knew I needed my wisdom tooth pulled, a cleaning and other work done. After getting my X-rays done the dentist that worked on me didn't explain anything to me afterward and just sent me to the front desk to get referral info. The front desk person (who was nice by the way) started talking to me about all of these different appointments for other work and I had no idea what she was talking about because the dentist hadn't gone over anything with me after taking my X-rays. The dentist was very rude and shaming and unwelcoming. I decided I wasn't going back and I started to look online elsewhere but after one of the front desk receptionists called me and reassured me that my experience was not the "norm" she talked me into booking me a second appointment. She said that the dentist who had did my consultation was just not feeling well that day and that she could book my next visit with Dr. Richard instead. Since she was so kind I listened to her and agreed to come back in. I waited 3 weeks for a second appointment after insurance approvals. During my 3 week waiting process I consulted with other dentists and they took X-rays and said that I didn't have the extra cavities that pleasant smiles was claiming that I had! So I felt like they were likely to try add more work to bill to my insurance company. Yesterday was my second scheduled appointment to start the dental work including a cleaning. I was scheduled with Dr. Richard. When he walked in he said that he would do some of the service but probably not have time for the cleaning and wanted me to come back for ANOTHER visit for that... which is confusing because that is the reason I was there! He only wanted to focus on doing the work that was going to get billed to my insurance company for the most money, instead of focusing on the other work that I was scheduled to get done including the CLEANING! So this was a complete waste of my time. His exact words were "I don't know if I'll have time to do a cleaning but let's just give you shots in your mouth and start the process and see happens!" Huh?!!!! Like he actually said this! Imagine a dentist having no set dental plan and say to you "Get in the chair let's just see what happens" My husband said -excuse me?! Hell no. Let's go. We immediately got up and declined service and left the office. The assistant to the dentist was also cold and unwelcoming as well. Overall, Pleasant Smiles has horrible communication, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. No set dental plan. I'm sure they treat patients with premium insurance better, but they treated us like trash. Before going to Pleasant Smiles we had read a recent review that was similar to my experience and tried to still give them the benefit of the doubt, however we should've listened to the reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Find a better place even if it takes you a little longer.
