The north dale Mabry location I visited for the first time is a no frills space. The foot massage was ok. The towels were not really clean (left dirt and hair on my shirt)) and had an odor. The entire space has a heavy mildew odor. Be careful if you have upper respites issues. I will not be going back. The place needs a more welcoming aesthetic. read more

Haven't been more disappointed than at this foot spa. There were no formal instructions, and all they did was basically rub creme over the my legs and feet all for $100. I don't usually write bad reviews but we saw people coming into the store and wondered if they knew what they were (not) getting. We signed up for reflexology and there was none, just an attempt to upsale me to doing shoulders (at a foot spa). I called there. They told me to come in went there drove 40 minutes. Out of my way. They said we have only 2 techs they said come back in a half an hour. I stayed in the area parked in my car went back in in a half an hour saying sorry we can't take you till 8 o'clock then the man comes out and got extremely rude 8 o'clock I said I can't stay until 8 o'clock. I said I will never be back here. You people are rude inconsistent they're open sign is never even on seems like there must be some shady crap going on. I wanted to start off the year relaxed - and did I ever! I booked a 60-minute combo reflexology massage (foot, calf, hands and head) and my massage therapist was Ann. The first thing I noticed in my solo room was how perfect the temperature was. It was cold outside but the room was neither warm nor cold...just right. This massage not only included my head and scalp but also my face, upper chest and neck. Ann's pressure was perfect and I could have slept all night when she was done. We were brought to our own private room and started with the foot soak. They explained that the different colors the water will turn identified where you are detoxing from...not gonna lie we were kinda scared to look because some colors could mean something really bad for your health. But we were all good. After the 30 minute foot soak, 2 guys came in and went to work with some amazing massage techniques. We both felt SO relaxed. The pressure applied, the places they focus on, even the smell of the lotion was just perfection. I don't think they spoke English very well but that's okay. Come here and you will not be sorry. My husband and I needed a nice recovery day after our week of hard workouts, so we found this spot. They accept walk-ins! We got the 30 minute foot massage with our own private room. We wore masks and so did our masseuse. You lay down in a room with dim lighting and calm music for a nice relaxing foot and lower leg massage. Fun fact: I often hate pedicures because I'm super ticklish but I was not ticklish at all! Maybe it was the reflexology or the firm massage but I did not feel uncomfortable at all. I could feel them hitting the pressure points to relieve tension. It was a time well spent. I like that the place is clean and the staff is friendly. The room is set up to have multiple massages at once. I wouldn't recommend the combo option though. The staff member who worked on me was literally breathing in my face the entire time they worked on my head and shoulders. With the pandemic, everyone is a bit cautious these days about personal space. I was super relieved once they moved to my feet. If they were going to spend longer on my upper body I was going to tell them to stop because it was really bothering me. Ok... totally different story this time! Staff was on point... friendly and got me in quickly. I picked the 90 minute Foot reflexology which is a combination of foot/leg and neck/ shoulders. I had a massive migraine going in and was hoping this would help Started with a foot soak, and then the rest of the 90 minutes was a lot of pressure points, rubbing, massaging and techniques I had never had used on me before. The masseuse used his elbows quite a bit to dig deep in some of the larger muscle groups, and even used his knees when needed. Great deep tissue work. He also stretched me in some ways that I have not done since yoga or physical therapy. Gentlemen's name was Robert... and I highly recommend him Still have a headache... they don't go away easy, but it is not nearly as bad as it was. And the rest of me is relaxed an happy. My experience was totally different than everyone's consistent 5 star review. I was excited about this experience because of the 5 star review of this place. Initially, I just felt like we should have some consultation or direction of how our foot massage/treatment would work. I had no idea what to expect. I understand that there are tons of pressure points in your feet that correspond to different health conditions. I thought they would ask about that. We were welcomed into a room for two. It was comfy and clean. I started to try to relax, but I noticed that the woman doing my husband's feet, & the male doing mine seemed like they were in a tremendous rush. Felt like rush hour in Chicago hurrying to get to work. So I started trying to rest. My feet were soaked, they were getting massaged. Then...it stopped.. he came back, they left again... well turns out, the front desk person was not there. So meanwhile, hubby's massage was on going. He had a better one. His foot massage probably would have reflected the other reviews of 5's. Afterwards, we had our shoulder massages. I felt like my shoulders were being squeezed like a super wet sponge trying to get all the water out. My back and shoulders were being pounded as hard as can be and I swear I feel like I had whiplash in my neck. I told him to make it softer but it was not softer. I won't be back. I feel bad about this, but my husband, not I said first I was shafted of this experience. Mine was even finished before his including the time the person walked away several times. I used to treat myself twice a month there. Then the price went up and I received less for the price. My son surprised me and his girlfriend with an appointment. The problem was that he tipped them $20 for me and his girlfriend. So they received a $40 tip. They stopped exactly at 50 minutes. They did not rub my thighs. He used the tool 80%. I love the hands more. My feet are sore now. I understand that it was not a combo, but they used to rub other parts of the body to respond to the reflexology that they found in the bottom of your feet. He did. not rub my neck, my hands, or my back. They did not even move the foot stool to put a towel on the floor. So we could put our shoes on after the treatment. That goes to show. Please do not tip before the service is done. My son made this appointment, and he prepaid. I feel that once they received the tip. They did not care about the services. I'm very disappointed. I have read some of the other reviews, and it seems like I am not the only one with the opinion that things have changed there. These are my issues. #1 They no longer offer the $78 promotion on the reflexology massage combo. This was the main reason why I was a regular here. #2 It's a ghetto operation. You call to make an appointment and they don't even take your name or anything. They also offer a rewards program that they've only brought up once the entire time that I've been coming here. #3 The messages are hit or miss. On my most recent visit, the massage was pretty good but my masseuse got up and out the room on three occasions. I love getting foot massages, however, most of the places I go will do feet and back/neck, etc. I am sure that is fine for some people, but I really want my feet worked on. I've been here one time before and have also had a great experience. The lobby is really pretty and tranquil. The man at the front desk was attentive and courteous. There were 4 of us in our party and they quickly took us and brought us to a very quiet and relaxing room that was dimly lit with mellow music. Four different men came out and washed out feet and started to work their magic. It was nice because the place was empty and the four of us could talk without disturbing others around us. I've had a lot of foot massages before, and this one was above average. I know 60 minutes on feet alone is a lot of time, and there isn't too much variety you can do when you are concentrating on a small area. They massaged for 55 minutes instead of even 60 and stopped. Spoke to the guy at the front desk who was a complete jerk, rude as hell, told me I was a walk in even though I was not. Then told me I was scheduled for 4 pm and basically looked at me like I was the jerk. Then proceeded to charge me, not even sorry about that, let me give u a discount. Max and Sonny worked on my husband and me for 90 minutes and hands down one of the best, if not the best, massages I've ever had. I hate to have to update my review from 5 to 3 stars, but after my experience tonight it's a must. I've been coming here for 3 years and recommending Sunshine to everyone. Sporadically a friend would tell me the massage was too rough. My mother in law said the massage was too rough. I just thought those people weren't used to getting massages and don't appreciate a great deep tissue massage. Again, I've been coming for 3 years and have always had a nice experience until tonight... First I want to say that although I've always liked the foot and back massages here, I have liked some massages better than others. HubbyStanks and I are used to getting massages by the elderly guys who work here however one Saturday we got 2 young guys who were truly gifted! We asked if we could request them again and we were told no. That's the biggest problem with Sunshine...you get what you get when it comes to the therapists. Every time after that night we hoped to get the two young guys and we always ended up with the elderly fellows...they were still good massages. Tonight we got new therapists. Hubby got a lady (had no idea the lady did massages as I've only seen her at the front desk) and I got a middle aged guy with shorts on. At first I thought he was just a helper to bring in towels and the foot bath because he looked annoyed and was placing everything down like he was trying to get it over with. He started with my head. Dudes fingers were digging into my temples and I though my eyes were going to pop out like the scene from Friday the 13th III. I don't know who needs their temples rubbed as many times as he went back to mine but it hurt like hell every time. Not everyone gives a good head massage so I patiently waited for the rest...everything he did was with aggressive, fast pinching...and too hard. He worked on my left foot for a ridiculous amount of time where he kept digging into the same areas over and over very rough. He did the same to my right foot and leg, but for a slightly shorter time. I pulled my foot back several times due to not being able to handle the pain, but he just got more aggressive with every pullback. He finished with what was supposed to be palpitations on the front of my legs, but it felt like he was punching me! When he was finally done (missing good spots and hurting my feet) he threw the hot towel onto my feet and rubbed my legs and toes so hard I thought my skin was going to be rubbed off! The worst was to come. When he was done with my front he pulled the towel off really fast like a matador, again with aggression and told me to turn over...the others were always very gentle with this part. As I turned over I tried to make eye contact with HubbyStanks as he was turning over at the same time, but as usual if I don't just bluntly say what's going on he doesn't pick up on anything. So no one else in the room knew I was suffering. Crazyhands now started pinching the back of my neck really hard and changing up with digging into my back with his elbow with all the pressure of an MMA fighter. I guess he couldn't tell that my body was as stiff as a board because I was trying my hardest not to yelp out screams! I almost started to cry it hurt so bad. I just wanted it to be over. Right when I was about to tap out the timer went off he gave me some slaps on the back (supposed palpitations) and he stopped and said "okay." My eyes were watering as I told HubbyStanks that that was the roughest, least relaxing massage I've ever had and that must have been the guy that Rachel, my mother in law and all the other people that said they had a massage that was too rough. I think this guy is messing it up for all the other wonderfully gifted hands at Sunshine. If I ever go back and Bruiser walks in the room I'll throw a fit until they give me someone else. I swear that if they get rid of this guy that takes all his aggression out on clients that they will get more repeat business. They need to get rid of this guy and allow people to make appointments with their favorite therapists. read more

The masseuse was really rough, pressed too hard, and checked the timer every 5 minutes. I had to keep asking him to be more gentle, but he kept checking out and putting too much pressure. Yes-Sum-Masah, been in here twice in 2 weeks as my back under my shoulder ( I had sneezed and it froze) and also my right bottom muscle ( not too sure of the technical word) was very painful and I couldn't even touch my toes! The 1st visit the tech dug his "terminator" hands into all the "knots" in my back. Believe me it was pain and pleasure I thought I was having a baby! My wifey and I came back a week later and almost 95% of the stiffness and muscle freeze had gone . Good job! It's 4 stars as at $59 bucks a little pricey. This was my usual place to go, until my most recent visit. My husband called and booked me an hour massage with one of the employees. Apparently when I came in and told them my name there was another girl scheduled at the same time ALSO with my name. The young Spanish gentleman at the front desk took me back to the room for my massage and I waited. During my massage I was a little confused as I wasn't getting the full back massage that I had scheduled so I said something. At the end of my visit I realized I had been in there for 90 minutes so when I went out to it I asked the receptionist why I received such a long massage when that wasn't what was booked. His reply was "OMG I must have got you confused with the other lady...that's my fault and I apologize". Then he tried to get me to pay extra for the full massage when I explained that it wasn't what was booked and obviously it was his mistake and not mine. I told him I would happily tip the lady extra given her extra time she spend on me, but that I wasn't paying for his mistake. He told me ok and apologized again. 5 minutes later he calls my husband screaming at him saying the money came out of his pocket and that I should have known and said something.
