I would like to preface this review that I have NEVER written a negative review on any business EVER, however this motel is such a health hazard that I feel morally obligated to warn people who may be considering this establishment as a possibility to stay in. First, the prices that were quoted to me changed in literally 5 minutes. I asked how much it would be for one night and I was told 110.00 for one night. I walked out of the office and came back in to pay and it went up to 125.00 with an added ten dollars accumulated on the deposit. I was desperate for a place to sleep as every other hotel on that road was at full occupancy. I received my key to room 109 and proceeded to check the room out. When I walked in there was a horrendous stench in the room. A mix of smoke and sewage. The AC did not work and it was a warm day so the smell just permeated the air and was intolerable. I spoke with management and asked to be switched to another room. Magically they had another one to put me in even though 5 minutes ago-this was the "very last room" that was vacant. They then proceeded to give me the keys to room 107. I then took a quick walk through the room as I had to be at work shortly after my check in. The room had a smell but the AC did work. I decided to chalk it up to it being a dingy little motel in a bad part of town and I was only sleeping in it for one night. I went to work and came back around 11pm when I got off of work. I walked in and did a much more thorough inspection of the room and what I found was absolutely atrocious. Blood and what looked like feces was embedded in the carpet. The microwave looked like food has been stuck in there for weeks and the walls had stains all over them. I then decided to lift off the covers and sheets on the bed. I found bed bugs, what looked to be blood and possibly black mold on the mattress. It was disgusting and frankly disturbing as to why they wouldn't switch out a mattress that clearly had human excrement on it. I then decided to speak with the manager who very quickly raised his voice and yelled at me stating that I had 12 hours to inspect the room and he wasn't giving me my money back. I calmly tried to explain my work situation to me and I was met with more yelling, finger pointing and refusal to give me my money back. Another couple behind us were complaining about the exact same thing and they were met with the same exact response that I received. These people take absolutely no pride in their business. They have no regard for human sanitation and are just as shady as their motel looks. Not to mention the people that are literally LIVING in the motel. A portable gas stove in the parking lot for "tenants" to cook on while they brought out their chairs and love seats to have a little kick back in the parking lot. Please save your time, money and effort and go elsewhere. The rooms are so bad and disgusting, it's almost funny. First room had bed bugs, so we asked for another. The second room, had a tv, that was not connected nor the air conditioning, we connected both, the tv had no signal and the wrong remote. Every drawer was broken, night stand, desk, dresser, all of them. A microwave was just placed on top of a random mini fridge, located in the middle of the floor. The lamp on the dresser was unscrewed completely so it was just hanging together, not plugged in, and missing the bulbs in it. And every crevice was absolutely gross, every corner, outlet, anything small was gunked with grime from who knows how long. There was a bunch of change on the floor nickels, dimes, pennies. The mattress are nailed to the box springs, I assume to keep you from looking for bed bugs. And when we complained the man who does not speak very much English, yelled at us. read more

I don't want to be mean because I feel for people. Overall it looked okay in the room, it had a microwave and refrigerator. TV didn't work though. The bathtub looked new. And he needs to tell his cleaning ladies to change the sheets and towels even if they "look" clean. But it was literally infested with bed bugs, I've never actually encountered them in any motel/hotel until now. I felt them crawling all over me. They need to fumigate this entire place! Ive stayed here as well as their other two hotel the guest house and sunshine two i had only minor issues until last night within minutes. We found a roach then pop machines didnt want to work tv was a pain to get to work hand prints of blood left on the shower curtain not enough towels in the room door hamdle was burned smoke detecter falling out of the ceiling and no working plug ins well we pushef through the long noisy night got up and ready to leave to find a bedbug So i coght it and a roach and left a note with the proff and told them to call orkin and walked out i wont be staying there again for a long time read more

I should have read the reviews before sleeping one night. Bedbugs, dirty linens, no ac and high priced for the area. $85 a night should've been $30. We paid $62 for a room with two queen beds. There were some questionable stains (blood?) and hairs on the sheets and blankets, and the towels apparently smelled funky. But for the price, whatever? The bathroom was clean - but again with the weird stains - and the deadbolt worked. read more

I checked into the hotel around 11:30pm Thursday 7/20/17. The room was DISGUSTING! The floors were stained and covered in crumbs. The walls had dirt and something that looked like soda or syrup sprayed across them. The TV was sticky and wouldn't turn on. The bed and chairs had crumbs all over them. I was in the room maybe 10-15 min. When I went down to ask for a refund the man at the counter did not want to give it. He insisted on trying to show me another room. I put my foot down and demanded a refund of the two nights I was not staying, and agreed to the charge of $74 for one night. This service was beyond terrible!! Compared to Motel 6, it's cheaper, (got quoted weekly rate well under $40 a day) room is bigger, they do have shampoo and soap and digital comcast with on-demand, frig and microwave, and internet is free (M6 charges by day, Crossland charages by visit). Downside, outside doesn't look as nice but it's modern and clean inside, heater was not as clunky as Motel 6. Lots of fast food close by on the strip, close to I5 freeway. Stayed here for a week after the better known hotels were in the dark because of a wind storm. read more

Do NOT stay at this hotel! It's absolutely disgusting! If I could give it zero stars I would. When I walked into the room I was hit with the smell of stale smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The trash hadn't been taken out. I had a bad feeling about it, so I pulled back the covers to check for bugs. The sheets and mattress pad were very dirty and had holes. There was a blood stain on the mattress pad. The pillow cases looked like someone had been sleeping on them for months without washing them. And then I found a bug in the bedding. I immediately left and turned in my key card. The person at the front desk told me the room was cleaned the night before and that they don't have a bug problem. Totally standard motel. Not too dingy. Didn't feel unsafe. Unremarkable. TV was a little bit of a pain, but that's not a big deal to me.

We went to this Motel because it's the cheapest we found not expecting much for cleanliness and was kind of expecting bugs and whatnot. But when we got to our room the room was pretty clean free of bugs there is a refrigerator stove and microwave the lady at the front desk who booked us was extremely nice referred us to great places that were really cheap and very friendly we could not stop laughing in the lobby. This is the best bang for your buck right here. It's not the best because it's not a 10 star hotel there will be problems but the room smell nice look clean and are fully functional. Whenever we make this trip again we will always stay here. To me customer service is everything and this Motel definitely has great customer service. So if you're looking for a cheap motel and a comfortable room definitely give this place a shot. read more

This place wasn't a terrible motel, but the people running it are the worst kind of people. I was told I had to pay twice after booking my room online on a website that said I wouldn't owe anything at the motel, but the man behind the desk who spoke poor English said I did need to pay or I wouldn't get my key. After showing him my bank account statement that said the money had already been taken from my account, he refused anyways and said if he was wrong he would refund my money double. So, I paid and went to my room and called the website where I booked the room. Turns out he was wrong and while on hold with them, they called the motel and told the man at the desk that this was so. After I went back downstairs and asked about my refund, and getting double back as he had just promised, he threatened to call the police, saying I was harassing him and that I had been noisy in my room (where I had been for 5-10 minutes while calling the website). In the morning I went back downstairs to the lobby and waited for the owner to show up to see if I could get my refund (because paying twice had caused my account to overdraft and I now owed an additional 50 bucks that I was only charged for because the man working the night before was an idiot and didn't understand how online booking works). The man in the morning was nearly as much of an idiot as the man working the night before, and explained to me that although the night manager may have given me his word, (I quote) "words mean nothing, just look at the policy...that's all that matters". So, I told him to go fuck himself. Sunshine motel sucks. Their coffee tastes like old stale floor and the whole place smells worse than the man working the front desk at night. The guy working the office would not let us walk our friend up to her room he didn't even let us grab our stuff from out her room then while we were waiting for her to bring it down he kept telling us we needed to move our car and kept saying its late. This review is for The Sunshine Motel 2 Location: The outside of the hotel was a little presentable. Not as presentable as I hoped. The nightmare didn't start until I actually stepped foot in the hotel. There was garbage/debris throughout the hall way. The stairway was a bit shaky at best as it seemed as if the railing was going to fall down along with the stair case. In a 3 story hotel, there are no working elevators. There is no bell hop service. The room was reminiscence of something out of a nightmare, maybe not the worst nightmare, but a nightmare none the less. There was clear and visual scuff/paint/stain marks all over the wall. The room had a distinct and foul mold/mildew odor. The fridge had to be replaced upon arriving in the room as the original fridge wasn't working. The T.V. wasn't working properly for more than half our stay (2 nights). The only thing that did work on the T.V. was the power button as well as only the power button on the remote. The floor had significant dips in it and cracked when walked on. Thought we were going to fall through the floor. No noticeable fire escapes in the event of a fire. The cabinets/furniture was deteriorating beyond what can be fixed. Most of the cabinets/furniture was made from the particle board material. The cover to the Air Conditioning unit fell off. The Air Conditioning Unit did work. Overall, it was a really bad experience. It took what was supposed to be a well deserved family weekend to a water/amusement park with my children and turned it into a nightmare. I will never once again, look for hotel rooms based on economical pricing. This was my fault. I have learned my lesson. I don't care if a hotel room costs more than $400.00 per night. At least, I won't have to worry for my kids' safety. This hotel should be removed from Hotels.com and any other promotional website, as the reputation could potentially damage the reputation of the website that is promoting this hotel. Just my opinion. I am visiting this area again in the fall/winter of 2016. I will be staying at a different hotel and will be using a different promotional website to locate my hotel of choice, such as Tripadvisor.com, Booking.com, Expedia.com or so on. One of the worst motels I've ever stayed in....let's see where to begin.... $75 a night, free wifi...so I was never able to connect to the internet, starting with the bathroom...the toilet - paper holder was broken off the wall, roll of paper setting on the broken toilet tank lid, the white towels were stained and had holes in them, I counter 5 cigarette burns on the bathtub rim...Kitchenette...filth, pure filth, the stove had cooked on burned food under the blackened burner trays, microwave was dirty inside we found a piece of aluminium foil behind it, it was obvious someone had smoked something on it.....the room to the left and right of ours had permanent residents who lived there....since there was no smoking in the rooms they sat in chairs just outside their doors and smoked there....the tenant to the right was drinking whiskey from the bottle......in the morning when we were leaving the empty bottle was laying under the stairs....I will truly say there is no sunshine at the sunshine motel in tacoma washington read more
