*This review is for exceptional customer service not the actual hotel* I was scheduled to stay here tomorrow for a concert. The owner just called to let me know the concert was canceled and to cancel my reservation without penalty. Ticketmaster hadn't even notified me yet!!! I am blown away by the amazing customer service. Also I am vegetarian and gluten free and the owner was able to accommodate me without issue. I hope I get the opportunity to stay here in the future. We spent five nights here and it went like a dream. We couldn't have asked for more lovely hosts than Skip and Jane. They were so personable and kind, talking with us at breakfast every morning. The breakfasts were delicious! Fruit cup, egg dish, bacon or sausage, and a bread. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the price was fair. My only minor quibble was the advertised hot tub wasn't available. No matter, we had an enjoyable stay at this B&B, and recommend staying here whenever in Tacoma. read more

This place is a must-stay for fans of vintage Victorian homes. Their restoration is amazing and the interior common space is outfitted like a museum. The weather in April was quite fair so the inside upstairs was perfect, not too hot or cold during day and night. The room was very clean and my bed was extra comfy with the added memory foam layer. Parking was easy, there was almost always a space out front. J & S are gracious hosts who serve a home cooked breakfast that can accommodate dietary restrictions, and shared their stories about the house's history. I was tempted to eat up all the chocolate chip cookies that they leave out for guests by myself, but will save that for next time. I would definitely return here when I'm in Tacoma. read more

This is one of the best B&B's I've every stayed at. - My stay was at Amy's Room. Comfy bed with luxurious sheets. Unbelievably soft pillows. - I was greeted kindly at the door upon my arrival. - There were complimentary, delightful cookies just outside my bedroom door. - I had the hallway from the room to a large bathroom to myself. - There's working wifi and cable tv! A ton of DVD's are also available. - There's complimentary tea downstairs. - There's a robe. - The house is beautifully decorated in Victorian theme and there's also a miniature doll house in the hallway upstairs and lots of books. - The water in the bathroom flows like silk. - Owner showed me how the bath works. The owners themselves are gracious and accommodating. - Bath ceiling is wood (upstairs, used with Amy's room reservation)! Claw foot tub to shower in. The only thing I didn't like much were the numerous clocks. Though it alarmed every hour, it was charming. read more

What a great yelp find! We were in town for my niece's high school graduation and wanted to stay near downtown in a B&B instead of a downtown Tacoma hotel. We stayed in "Amy's room" and the bed was heavenly! We also had our own private bath down the hall. Staying at this Victorian B&B was such a treat! It felt like stepping back into history but with modern amenities. Most impressive with this whole trip was the hospitality of our hosts - Skip and Jane! Jane's breakfasts were delicious and made even more delightful when Skip and Jane joined us for coffee and conversation! I'm pretty sure we could've talked to them for hours learning about their love affair with this big beautiful home and the family they raised here! Jane and Skip are some of the sweetest and most kind people. The B&b was a fantastic setup and both my mom and I felt welcomed and right at home. The room we stayed in was spotless, sanitary and just all around perfect. We had a tv with cable and they also had a DVD rack with a variety of movies and tv shows. No complaints! While we ate breakfast they conversed just like we have known them forever. On top of a wonderful breakfast, with a generous selection of tea, coffee, orange juice and water Jane also made sure breakfast fit my needs of gluten free food for my celiac. I would definitely stay again! It's an amazing place, with great people and a quiet neighborhood. My husband and I recently stayed at this Bed and Breakfast for 3 nights upon returning from an Alaskan cruise. The house is lovely and it's almost like staying with family members that you just met! Our room was comfortable and cozy and our breakfasts were delicious. Each day when we returned our room looked as if a team of housekeepers had been in there but this was not the case...Skip and Jane do everything themselves!!!! Jane even asked us what we would like to have for breakfast! Even though she was already making a different breakfast for an Asian guest who required different breakfast food altogether. Both Jane and Skip were lovely people and would join us during breakfast with coffee and entertaining stories about their beautiful home. On the third morning, we had to catch an extremely early flight back home and since it was too early to have breakfast, Jane packed us both a brown bag meal with OJ , delicious pastry and fruit and left it on the kitchen table with our names on each bag... how sweet and thoughtful is that!!! I don't think there's enough space for me to post enough positive comments for the Geiger Victorian in Tacoma to do it justice. I grew up in Tacoma and left in 1999. I love seeing my family but never look forward to returning to Tacoma to visit. But our stay showed us how North Tacoma has change so much in the past 20 years. The Geiger Victorian is just another example of how North Tacoma has struck the much sought after and extremely rare balance of quaint and hip. Jane and Skip have a charming place and are the most hospitable hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The Decour is whimsically reminiscent of historic Tacoma, the service sincerely adorable and the breakfast is amazing! We're definitely going back. read more

Jane and Skip were fantastic hosts! They are very knowledgeable about the history of the house and the area. They have redone the house to it's former Victorian grandeur all by hand, so they know that house inside and out. We had a wonderful time chatting with them! There are also a ton of fascinating antiques to admire. The house is full of Victorian charm, but also has great amenities like wifi, fully updated plumbing, and sound proofing (no creaky floors to wake you up). These hosts have really thought of everything from super comfy "spa" sheets to homemade cookies to welcome you! I am lactose intolerant and they happily accommodated my dietary restriction while still serving fantastic breakfasts. Also, I am very allergic to dust, so I was a little nervous about staying a house that old. Skip and Jane must be some kind of super housekeepers, because the whole B&B is spotless and my allergies didn't bother me at all! Being in our early 30s, my husband and I aren't the typical B&B guests, but I would highly recommend staying here. It made our little weekend away truly memorable and soooo relaxing! read more

Beautiful place in the middle of the historical district of Tacoma. Skip and Jane were just as pleasant as could be. We staying the Virginia Mason room and it was beautiful and comfortable. We have stayed in some older homes that were a little creepy but this was very comfortable. Coffee by our door in the morning and a lovely breakfast in the main dining room. Affordable and just plain comfortable! I love it! Close to all the downtown hot spots and parking was easy right in front. read more

Close to U.of Puget Sound and good, quaint restaurants. Nice area, house restored to Victorian era with many curios, antiques and murals on walls and ceiling. You can see the pride Jane and Skip have in their property and love sharing stories about their work. We appreciated help with luggage up the stairs, the yummy breakfast and afternoon/evening tea service. What a treat it was to wind down a busy day sipping my tea in the tranquility of the house at night as well as on the porch during the afternoon. Soaking in the iron-cast, clawfoot bathtub in the spacious bathroom was also a real treat! We enjoyed our accommodations in Amy's Room. This was my 87-year old mother's first stay at a B&B and she is still talking about it! read more

We just spent seven days at the Geiger B&B in the historic area of Tacoma and were very, very pleased with both our comfortable accommodations as well as the warm, friendly hospitality of our hosts, Jane and Skip. The breakfasts were delicious, and our bed in the Virginia Mason suite was really comfortable. The entire suite with it's sitting area was very cozy and it's Victorian design was truly exquisite. The entire home is furnished with Victorian antiques, hand painted murals, and the like. It is located in a great part of town, and is very close to the University of Puget Sound. Our hosts were very helpful with suggesting good nearby restaurants as well. Put it to the top of your B&B list for the Tacoma area and you will be very glad that you did! read more

I cannot emphasize enough the gratitude that filled me for being able to spend a night here! I was in the Seattle area for a few days to celebrate my third year anniversary. The night we spent here was perfect. The owners were warm, welcoming, informative, friendly, sincere, interesting; go ahead, think of any positive word and add it to the list. I have a restricted diet and the Hostess was so accommodating! She cooks breakfast for her guests and uses fresh veggies from her garden and local produce as well. She really makes you feel like you are a part of her family. She did warn us about the bed we were to sleep in and she was right, it is the most comfortable bed! We totally didn't even hear our alarm go off because we were lost in lala land. Just writing about makes me wish i was there!! The cost per night is more than reasonable. For what they give you, it feels like a total steal. Oh, and the decor, i can't leave it out! I collect antiques and let me just tell you, they have an amazing collection of trinkets, furniture, paintings, lighting, flooring, everything. They paid total attention to detail. The home has been lovingly and carefully restored by the current owners. One really gets to feel like you have stepped back in time upon entering the home.
