[[HIGHLIGHT]]Back again for another appointment with Diane, and I'm just as happy as the first time![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's been about four months since my last visit, and I came in for a root touch-up, another keratin treatment, and a bang trim. My color grew out so well, and the touch-up blended perfectly. My hair feels so smooth, healthy, and refreshed again. One of the reasons I keep coming back is because Diane is always honest about what's best for my hair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She takes the time to explain everything, listens to what I want, and never makes me feel rushed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Another thing I really appreciate is that she remembers what we've done in past appointments, so I don't feel like I'm starting over every time I come in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This visit was just as easy and stress-free as my last one, and I left really happy with how everything turned out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you Diane!

From my very first appointment, she went above and beyond to help save my hair. I had made the mistake of going to someone else (another salon) who, despite being experienced, damaged my hair to the point where I had to box-dye it black. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I came to Dianne, she carefully explained what she could do to keep my hair healthy while still working toward the color I wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Safe to say--she saved my hair and delivered exactly the look I was hoping for. She did an incredible job during that first visit, and as a long-time client, I can confidently say her work continues to be amazing. On my most recent visit, she touched up my grown-out roots, and once again, I left completely satisfied. I am so glad I found this hair salon. The salon itself is a real gem placed in the center of a small shopping center. I haven't had a professional haircut in a VERY long time. I always avoided it due to the price and past experiences. However, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came out of this salon feeling AMAZING!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The woman who cut my hair was so nice, and gave me a cute layered bob with curtain bangs. I have very very thin hair, and she made it look so full. The price is absolutely unbelievable as well. Especially for how great the results were!! Used to go to this salon all the time. I do still love it however, there are not too many workers. I understand completely, but as a healthcare worker, I will say sometimes I do not make appointments and just "walk in" when my schedule allows. I have very mixed feelings about this place, as I've been coming here for a few years now because I just want a simple haircut at a decent price. However, the last 3 times have really disappointed me, so maybe it's time to go back to the nicer hair salons. I've had the same experience the last 3 visits: they ask if you want your hair washed and seem disappointed when you say yes, then they spend 6 mins (yes I timed it) hacking away at your hair very roughly, and then they say "thank you" and off you go with your hair still soaking wet. No blow dry. And then I leave with a haircut that looks nothing like what I asked for and I spend the next few months in a ponytail because I hate it. I'm so confused because the first few times I came here years ago, it wasn't like this. What happened? Maybe it's time to move on :( read more

I've been here several times over the last 3 years. I've gotten my hair colored, gotten a Brazilian blowout, and gotten a cut. Every time, it's turned out better than expected. I got another cut yesterday and my hair feels so much lighter and fresher. It's amazing what a haircut can do for your mood when it turns out well. read more

I came here in hopes to find a salon closer to home 2 months ago. I asked them to lighten my overgrown roots so they match the rest of my blonde hair. I came out with super dark toned hair instead and they charged me $330. (She added a hair treatment I had DECLINED btw but she still charged me for it) I still gave her a tip on top of that because I have a lot of hair. Apparently I learned today that they didn't even bleach my hair they had only toned it and charged me over $300 lol I messaged them asking if I can go back in so they can fix my hair and roots to what I initially asked for because even after washing my hair many times it was still too dark. And it was now two way different colors which looks freaking terrible. She agreed and upon coming back she wanted to charge me another $350. No discount. That would total $680.. so I left. read more

Look no further, come here for your hair needs!! I called to see if they had same day availability to do a balayage with Diane as many of Sunshine's customers had recommended her. They told me to come in (even if it was a same day appointment)! When I came in, she sat down with me to see what I wanted to do with my hair, etc. i personally wanted a low maintenance color and wanted to see what She recommended that would suit my skin tone. She recommended a violet/red which I agreed to - she is the pro afterall! She got to work and omg she was SUPER FAST and thorough!!! I was in and out of here in like 2.5-3hours which wasn't too bad for a coloring sesh. During my session, they (Diane and i believe Emily (?) were working) had a few customers walk in for a haircut and they were super efficient with it and made sure the customers left happy and satisfied! She was so professional, super sweet and overall an awesome person! She even gave me a hair treatment that left my hair feeling SO good and even offered to trim my hair a bit. It's been a minute since I got my hair done. When I first started looking for places, I steered away from garden grove and Westminster because I notice that there is always a huge discrepancy in price and everywhere charges $400+ for balayage now. I found this small shop on Yelp and I'm happy with the results! I showed Diane a photo and she said she couldn't do it. I really appreciate when business tells you what they can't and cannot do. There's nothing more frustrating than expecting something then being disappointed. Anyway, I told Diane I trusted her and she met my expectations and then some! Total was $355 which is reasonable for a balayage and corrections. She also added a keratin treatment on top for a small fee. Let's hope it stays like this for a while! read more

I had an appointment with Diane today and she definitely achieved the color and look I wanted. I am 100% content and couldn't ask for a better hair dresser! We looked over a couple hair options and made sure it was the hair color I really wanted. My hair was ultimately super black and hadn't touched it for more than 5 years. The service was A1 and she made sure I was comfortable at all times. Highly recommend Sunshine salon and will be coming back :) read more

first time getting my hair done in a salon and it was great experience! Diane took great care of me and my hair. I didn't really know what to expect getting my hair dyed for the first time, but it came out great! I'm super happy with my hair and my hair feels healthier than before (I had tons of dead dry split ends) we did hair treatment after the dye and the results are good. Definitely come here to get your hair done! read more

I had an ombre balayage with brazilian blowout and had wonderful results. I loved the color and Christine was awesome! I showed her 2 pictures and I told her to do her magic. I love the outcome! She offered to make me come back to do more toning to make it more rose gold, since the blowout made the color more washed off/lighter but I actually love it! So I will see in the next few days if I still love the color or come back to tone it for free. I felt safe because I saw them constantly disinfecting the seats and workspaces every after clients. I was in another salon before during the pandemic and i felt like the stylist was working on too many clients at once. Christine had me only for coloring and in between she had 2 haircuts that she did. I was there for almost 4 hours, which was pretty good for doing both color and blowout. Will recommend and will be back in 6 mos. Thanks Christine! read more

I went in to get a quick trim and left disappointed. The stylist was the one with the chair at the back of the row. I think her sign said Betty? I showed her a photo with someone with just a bit of layers on the bottom and she cut off a chunk way too short! It looks like she cut one layer of my hair short and left other parts long. read more

There are a few things that happened that I did not think were appropriate ranging from appointment…read morepractices, to service, to cleanliness. I booked an appointment for 5:30pm and arrived on time. When I arrived I said hello and checked in. I was instructed to sit in the first chair and that someone would be right with me. I sat there for 15 minutes in a chair that had no liner or towel, so I sat awkwardly with my legs to the side waiting for someone to put one one since I did not want to contaminate a clean foot bath/ chair. It was 18 minutes before the receptionist noticed and gave me nail colors to look through. It was another 10 minutes before my nail tech came over to me and put my water in. So it was 28 minutes past my appointment before I got to start my service despite calling that morning to book an appointment. The service itself was partially okay. The only part I was happy with was the painting of the nails themselves. There's no streaks or polish on my skin but that's unfortunately the only positive thing I can say. The nail tech literally cut my sidewalls at an angle without asking me. To make matters worse, she didn't even cut them completely and she used her cuticle cutters to grab the hangnail she CREATED and proceeded to tug at it until it ripped off. So I will have an ingrown in 3-4 weeks now. I paid for the middle level package which included a scrub. She left half of it on my legs until my service was over, leaving my legs sticky and dirty when I got up. For both the scrub AND my massage she did it for the allotted amount of time but she would drift off midway through and just hold my leg/ foot. I told her my leg was shaking cuz of the position and I needed to move it, and while she agreed she would literally squish my toes down to paint them at a position easier for her. I don't know if she was tired but I did not deserve a service like that. The cleanliness issue was minimal. She did take tools out of a blue package, but then she pulled an old nail file out, blew who knows what off of it, and proceeded to use it on my toenails. I was asked if my service was okay at the end and I said sure. I did not care to stay and argue because by the time this whole thing was over, it was almost two hours later due to waiting time and lack of interest in doing my service. I still tipped $6 and I don't think I will ever return. It might look nice inside but i shouldn't have to assertive about someone doing their job when i paid $59 for a service. I genuinely hope whatever happened was a fluke but I'm extremely disappointed to say the least.

DO NOT let the man here do your hair. Please request Christine or anyone else because it seems from other reviews that she does really well. My hair has never been so damaged. I came in for a trim and balayage because I had some split ends and my roots were far grown out. I had a dark brown/caramel balayage and asked for brown/ash brown (very little difference in shade, nothing extreme). He took about an hour to apply all the product and foil to my head. After that, I sat under the dryer. My head and neck were crammed under and he tried placing a wet towel on my forehead but it wouldn't stay put. As he washed my hair, my head was literally banging on the sink, and my scalp was in so much pain from the pulling and rough scrubbing. He also wanted to keep a dirty towel on my face (to prevent me from breathing in all the chemicals) but midway I told him I wanted to take it off because I couldn't breathe. At this point I could already feel the knots and nests he was creating in my hair. I was hoping he would slather conditioner through my hair and get some of the knots out before drying it, but instead he went straight in with the brush and blow dryer. He was extremely rough while brushing my tangles as well. He applied little to no product to my hair before going in with the curler as well. I was getting scared as he was holding my hair in the curler because he would talk to me and not take my hair out until we was finished with what he said. It only took like 10-15 secs to curl a section but he would hold it for 30 sec if he was talking. It's been about 2 weeks and my hair is not in good shape. I waited for 2-3 days before washing my hair as he told me, and I have been using hair oils and serums practically every day. My hair is VERY brittle and difficult to brush. This is very significant for me because I have always had thick, healthy hair. Even though at-home bleaching, cutting, and multiple salon balayages. I will probably have to cut it all off if I want the split ends gone, because they're all over. read more

Men's haircut A month ago I got a haircut. Price was good. Seemed like she did a good job. However, after I took a shower, I saw the sides were uneven. The right side was straight up and down while the left side was angled out. I went back today to give them a 2nd chance. I got the same lady. I tried to explain to her about the issue of the unevenness of the 2 sides. She said "yes yes. You comb your hair this way." She created a different part. I said no. "My hair is styled just as you see it. I'm not talking about the part. I'm talking about this side being straight and this side being angled." I showed her with my hands best I could with 1 hand straight up and the other at an angle. She kept saying yes yes yes. When I asked "Do you understand?" she responded "I don't know." I tried 3 more times. I didn't know how else to explain it. You could tell the other stylist was concerned but she had another customer and couldn't do much though she could've said something to me or the other stylist. I got out of the chair to show her face to face. She said 'you don't want haircut. maybe you go somewhere else.' That was that. read more

Sunshine Salon is a great place to get your hair done and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for hair that looks professionally done for a good price. I had Diane dye my hair in a ombre/balayage style and it came out beautiful, but when I decided it just really wasn't what I had wanted, she was kind enough to fix my hair and also put some treatment in it to help with the damage. I really like the way it looks now, it wasn't what I originally wanted but I really like it and its what is best on my hair. This was my first time coming to this salon and I am more than pleased with how my hair turned out and the wonderful customer service! I was charged $175 for balayage coloring and a haircut. Compared to my go to salon in Orange County, the price is a bit high, however for convenience of being close to home and the attention to detail, it was well worth the price. I had the pleasure of having Christine work on my hair. She is also the owner of the place. I was unsure of how I wanted my hair so I told her to do whatever she thinks will suit me. I'm so happy and satisfied with my experience at Sunshine Salon. I wanted blonde ombre with balayage and was very skeptical looking for a new place to get my hair done. Diane and her daughter we're so sweet and genuine and made me feel very comfortable. Diane also made sure to get the exact coloring I wanted. I took her advice on the shades and am glad i did.
