I am so glad I found this hair salon. The salon itself is a real gem placed in the center of a small shopping center. The owner, Diane, is so sweet and knowledgeable about how to get the hair results that you want. She was very attentive to what I wanted and kept checking on me during the process. She's incredible detail oriented to make sure your hair treatment leads to fabulous results. She also gives an amazing scalp massage during the shampooing process. The salon is clean and the products used are top tier. I'm happy to have found this salon and excited to revisit! read more

If you're looking for someone who listens, is talented with color, and genuinely cares about the results, Diane is the one to go to. Diane did an amazing job on my balayage--the color came out exactly how I wanted it. I've been going to Diane for about two years now, and she consistently does incredible work. I recently moved an hour and a half away, but I'll still gladly make the drive because she truly takes care of her clients and makes sure you leave completely happy with your hair. I haven't had a professional haircut in a VERY long time. I always avoided it due to the price and past experiences. However, I came out of this salon feeling AMAZING!! The woman who cut my hair was so nice, and gave me a cute layered bob with curtain bangs. I have very very thin hair, and she made it look so full. The price is absolutely unbelievable as well. Especially for how great the results were!! I will 1000000% be coming back and telling all my friends about this salon! :) read more

I've gone to Diane a couple of times now for hair color, and she always delivers. What I appreciate most about her is how honest she is upfront about what she can and cannot do. She really takes the time to explain what's best for your hair and makes thoughtful suggestions instead of just saying yes to everything. Back in November, I got a balayage from her, and I still had some red tones in my hair from another stylist I went to about a year and a half ago. Diane handled it so well and made sure the integrity of my hair stayed healthy. I came back today to go a little lighter, and I also got a keratin treatment and a trim and once again, she did an amazing job. Her service and genuine care are the reasons I keep coming back. She really listens to what I envision, does her absolute best to achieve it, and makes the entire experience comfortable. She even offers snacks and water and checks in to make sure you're doing okay throughout the appointment. Diane is not only talented but such a wonderful person. The first picture is my before from my last hair color with Diane. I've been following her advice with how often I get a trim, how to care for my hair, and now I went a much lighter blonde for the summer and she was able to capture exactly what I was looking for. I came straight from work and was still in uniform and Diane even provided me something to change in to. She has great customer service. Diane is not afraid to tell you "no". My go-to salon whenever I need to cut my hair. The ladies here are so kind and knowledgeable. Diane did my hair this time and it was my first time ever changing my hair color. She made me feel comfortable and helped to provide recommendations on my hair color after I told her what I wanted. Used to go to this salon all the time. I do still love it however, there are not too many workers. I understand completely, but as a healthcare worker, I will say sometimes I do not make appointments and just "walk in" when my schedule allows. They are very friendly and treat you really well! **10/10 Service All Around** **Fair Pricing:** I paid $330 for a full balayage, with lower prices available for root touch-ups and maintenance. I always go to Dianne for my balayage. From my very first appointment, she went above and beyond to help save my hair. I had made the mistake of going to someone else (another salon) who, despite being experienced, damaged my hair to the point where I had to box-dye it black. When I came to Dianne, she carefully explained what she could do to keep my hair healthy while still working toward the color I wanted. Safe to say--she saved my hair and delivered exactly the look I was hoping for. She did an incredible job during that first visit, and as a long-time client, I can confidently say her work continues to be amazing. On my most recent visit, she touched up my grown-out roots, and once again, I left completely satisfied. I have very mixed feelings about this place, as I've been coming here for a few years now because I just want a simple haircut at a decent price. However, the last 3 times have really disappointed me, so maybe it's time to go back to the nicer hair salons. I've had the same experience the last 3 visits: they ask if you want your hair washed and seem disappointed when you say yes, then they spend 6 mins (yes I timed it) hacking away at your hair very roughly, and then they say "thank you" and off you go with your hair still soaking wet. No blow dry. And then I leave with a haircut that looks nothing like what I asked for and I spend the next few months in a ponytail because I hate it. I'm so confused because the first few times I came here years ago, it wasn't like this. What happened? Maybe it's time to move on :( read more

I've been here several times over the last 3 years. I've gotten my hair colored, gotten a Brazilian blowout, and gotten a cut. Every time, it's turned out better than expected. I got another cut yesterday and my hair feels so much lighter and fresher. It's amazing what a haircut can do for your mood when it turns out well. read more

I came here in hopes to find a salon closer to home 2 months ago. I asked them to lighten my overgrown roots so they match the rest of my blonde hair. I came out with super dark toned hair instead and they charged me $330. (She added a hair treatment I had DECLINED btw but she still charged me for it) I still gave her a tip on top of that because I have a lot of hair. Apparently I learned today that they didn't even bleach my hair they had only toned it and charged me over $300 lol I messaged them asking if I can go back in so they can fix my hair and roots to what I initially asked for because even after washing my hair many times it was still too dark. And it was now two way different colors which looks freaking terrible. She agreed and upon coming back she wanted to charge me another $350. No discount. That would total $680.. so I left. read more

Look no further, come here for your hair needs!! I called to see if they had same day availability to do a balayage with Diane as many of Sunshine's customers had recommended her. They told me to come in (even if it was a same day appointment)! When I came in, she sat down with me to see what I wanted to do with my hair, etc. i personally wanted a low maintenance color and wanted to see what She recommended that would suit my skin tone. She recommended a violet/red which I agreed to - she is the pro afterall! She got to work and omg she was SUPER FAST and thorough!!! I was in and out of here in like 2.5-3hours which wasn't too bad for a coloring sesh. During my session, they (Diane and i believe Emily (?) were working) had a few customers walk in for a haircut and they were super efficient with it and made sure the customers left happy and satisfied! She was so professional, super sweet and overall an awesome person! She even gave me a hair treatment that left my hair feeling SO good and even offered to trim my hair a bit. So much love for Diane. awesome experience will be telling everyone about this place and definitely coming back. read more

It's been a minute since I got my hair done. When I first started looking for places, I steered away from garden grove and Westminster because I notice that there is always a huge discrepancy in price and everywhere charges $400+ for balayage now. I found this small shop on Yelp and I'm happy with the results! I showed Diane a photo and she said she couldn't do it. I really appreciate when business tells you what they can't and cannot do. There's nothing more frustrating than expecting something then being disappointed. Anyway, I told Diane I trusted her and she met my expectations and then some! Total was $355 which is reasonable for a balayage and corrections. She also added a keratin treatment on top for a small fee. Let's hope it stays like this for a while! read more

I had an appointment with Diane today and she definitely achieved the color and look I wanted. I am 100% content and couldn't ask for a better hair dresser! We looked over a couple hair options and made sure it was the hair color I really wanted. My hair was ultimately super black and hadn't touched it for more than 5 years. The service was A1 and she made sure I was comfortable at all times. Highly recommend Sunshine salon and will be coming back :) read more

I didn't really know what to expect getting my hair dyed for the first time, but it came out great! I had an ombre balayage with brazilian blowout and had wonderful results. I loved the color and Christine was awesome! I showed her 2 pictures and I told her to do her magic. I love the outcome! She offered to make me come back to do more toning to make it more rose gold, since the blowout made the color more washed off/lighter but I actually love it! So I will see in the next few days if I still love the color or come back to tone it for free. I felt safe because I saw them constantly disinfecting the seats and workspaces every after clients. I was in another salon before during the pandemic and i felt like the stylist was working on too many clients at once. Christine had me only for coloring and in between she had 2 haircuts that she did. I was there for almost 4 hours, which was pretty good for doing both color and blowout. I went in to get a quick trim and left disappointed. The stylist was the one with the chair at the back of the row. I think her sign said Betty? I showed her a photo with someone with just a bit of layers on the bottom and she cut off a chunk way too short! It looks like she cut one layer of my hair short and left other parts long. read more

I was sitting in that chair for 4 hours. My phone died. I was hungry and thirsty. No one asked if i needed anything or check up on me. She was attending other clients and overall I felt neglected throughout the whole process. Despite the poor treatment and feeling of abandonment, i still had high hope that I would receive my new look and it would all be worth it. I stayed calm, kind and patient. She then revealed the final result and it was not what I had asked for. I pulled up the reference picture and said to her "I was going more for this look, is this it or were you still working on my hair?" No attitude, no negative tone, just a question. She suddenly got defensive and said she did not appreciate me saying "is this it?" And that she felt insulted. I apologized to her and said "that wasn't my intention it's just that I've been sitting here for hours expecting a different result that we discussed and agreed to." She said if I wanted that look then it would be another $300 and probably another 2 hours. I was shocked. She changed the price from what we discussed and at this point I felt like she was trying to take advantage of me. As Chohee was finishing the final steps of my appointment she was extremely cold, and unpleasant to be around. I felt VERY uncomfortable. I felt like i was beings reasonable and accommodating the whole appointment and to be treated so poorly really disappointed me and made me feel so small. Definitely won't be coming back here.

My friend went to this salon for a layered haircut. They initially told her that Nguyen was busy,…read moreso another stylist handled her hair instead. Unfortunately, the haircut turned out very uneven and looked more like a blunt, choppy cut rather than proper layers. Even from the sides and the back, it was noticeably uneven. Honestly, it looked poorly done. What makes it even more disappointing is that my friend naturally has very smooth, silky hair that she used to wear down all the time because it was one of her best features. She never used to tie her hair back. But after this haircut, she's been keeping it tied up because she no longer feels confident wearing it down. She immediately contacted the salon because she was unhappy with the result. I even suggested going to another salon to have it corrected, but she decided to give this place another chance and went back for a fix. I will say that Nguyen was professional and clearly skilled. She tried her best to correct the haircut, but the problem was that the first stylist had already cut the front sections way too short, making it difficult to properly fix or balance everything. Nguyen improved it as much as possible, but the front pieces were still too short and the overall haircut was already compromised. I even spoke to her husband about it, and he said, "Yes, she was crying in front of the mirror because she doesn't know how to style her hair anymore." Honestly, I felt really bad for her. My friend is very kind and kept saying it looked "okay," but the haircut truly affected her confidence. I hope the salon pays more attention to consistency and quality between stylists moving forward because a bad haircut can genuinely impact someone emotionally, especially when it takes months or even years to grow hair back.

Nori also uses a scale to formulate the hair colors. You can feel assured you won't come out of the salon looking funky. Appointments can be made online directly from his website, or by emailing/texting him directly. He is very flexible and accommodating with appointments. I went in to get a perm and cut…read more The vibe was very nice. Very respectful. His space was very clean and tidy with what seems, state of the art tools. I have had fine hair all my life, but even still my hair has always taken well to perms, always. Even the last one over a year ago. The only complaint I had was the use of larger rods which made my hair more wavy curl than curly. Nori had said that my hair wouldn't take well to a perm, but because I know my hair's history, I asked him do it anyway and he agreed to do it. First he used a more gentle solution because of my pervious perm over a year ago (did not ask if I wanted that), and I didn't know until he was already in the process of using it on my hair... my hair needs the stronger solution. Second he did a loose curl wrap instead of a tight curl wrap. With fine hair (or at least my hair) it needs to be curled up against the scalp. I think he did this because it was a hot treatment perm (which I never had before) vs a cold treatment perm. He didn't give an option. So the perm came out ok on the bottom because it already had the previous perm that was there from a year ago. But the top part of my hair had virtually no difference. If you have fine hair and looking to get a perm, I would not recommend Nori. I'm sure he does really well with all other hair services. To his credit, the perm itself, aside from the lack of curl, was a healthy perm (did not harm my hair) and he did give a very nice cut prior to the perm process. I think if he would have explained his treatment process and how it differed from what I had previously experienced, that may have helped my decision to go elsewhere, before wasting over $200 I had taken a year 1/2 to save. Again I think he probably does really well with the other services he provides. I just think for women (or men) with fine hair, you may want to think twice if you're looking to get a perm.
