We did 4 sessions with Brenda and the change has been remarkable. She came to our house, which helps train him in a comfortable environment and she adapts her training to the dog. A big part of training is also for us to learn how best to reinforce the commands; Brenda left us with homework for the week to practice. I tried a different training program shortly after I rescued her which made her reactivity worse. I knew I had to find someone who could provide the type of training my dog would respond to. Brenda did a consultation with us and she really listened to what the concerns and goals were, and came up with a personalized plan for us. My frenchie is a different dog now in the best way possible as a result of Brenda's training methods. We had four sessions, and my frenchie can see another dog on our walks and not lunge or jump at them. Wow I can now have people over to the house without having a crazy scene of barking. Lesson number two is tomorrow and I believe we will be working on walking the two dogs together. These two babies were rescue dogs that apparently had been raised together but had very little social skills. I really believe we're going to have no problem once we get the tips on walking because actually based on what we've already learned we've put a lot of their new tips in motion with walking and a lot of things we do around the house. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Tom came for a first visit and he…read moremade a good canned presentation. We accepted his pitch and believed he would follow it up in a professional manner. That was not a reasonable assumption. First "Training" Session - As others have noted, he basically consulted on the need for us to go out to purchase recommended snacks, enclosure, leash / collar, water spray bottles, etc. We followed all recommendations. Second "Training" Session - More of the same and about 45 minutes on the treadmill. Our puppy is a Boston Terrier and is approximately 15 lbs. Tom was flipping her through air with harsh tugs on the leash. That prompted me to yell at him to "stop yanking her by her esophagus"! This past week, she has reacted oddly when either of us even touches her collar. Related? We are not qualified to say but we certainly do question. Third "Training" Session today - As I requested in person and in the following text I sent him one week ago, I asked him to provide a list of what would be accomplished in upcoming sessions. Tom was adament that he would tell me what he would cover but HE WAS UNWILLING TO LIST ANYTHING IN WRITING. He expected $2,700.00 for training but refused to put in writing what he was going to do for that very material amount. That is his way of claiming we misunderstood what was in our notes, that he never committed to whatever we took issue with. This is common for people with a history of unsatisfied clients. Text sent to Tom on Thursday, April 23rd: Tom: Thank you for the copy (of the Waiver we signed but did not receive a copy of until we followed up). We will let you know if the training will continue with both of us or just me. Your condescending manner toward my wife, a high functioning business executive, caused her discomfort and was unnecessarily stressful. It will be her decision to participate or not. Additionally, please list the scope of the upcoming sessions so that I can manage my expectations accordingly. As you know, house-training was my #1 priority and it received a very uncreative approach and no training, just tips for us to incorporate. She's not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also an excellent communicator and listener. Dog parents beware! Took my mellow lab/border collie mix here for daycare since 2018 and never had…read moreproblems. New ownership 2 to 3 years ago and major staff turnover. He's now been bitten by another dog twice in past year. Staff didn't notice the incident either time it happened. First time, they did find the bite during a body check, and watched a video of the play area to see what happened and saw a German shepherd bite my dog "for no apparent reason." Said they'd keep the two dogs separated if they were there at the same time again. This time they never found the pretty sizable bite (or opted to not tell me about it). I discovered it the next day, and vet confirmed it was a dog bite so it had to happen there as he's an only dog. Asked Staff to watch video to see what happened and was told they no longer have cameras so no way to determine what dog bit him this time. We won't be returning. They seem to no longer be doing a good job of screening out dogs that don't have the right temperament for daycare and/or doing a good job of supervising the dogs.

What I really appreciate in addition to their expertise, clear direction and upfront approach is that they didn't sell me on what I didn't need. José made it clear very quickly that it would not be the best use of money to board and train my dog, Piper. Instead, he offered me a customized package that would maximize the training and my money. He had to be kenneled whenever someone came over then it got to the point where we didn't allow anyone over. Everett worked with him and myself because I was afraid of him. The homework he gave me helped us bond, so I was longer afraid of Skippy. He taught me how to correct him and walk him. It got to the point where Everett felt comfortable with taking him in public. We went to Lowe's and walked around. People passed and Skippy kept his focus. Another dog walked by after we were sitting and Skippy did not care. Everett is a true dog whisperer!
