I've been going to Hilary for the better part of 5 years now. I initially met her at Floyd's and…read morefollowed her when she opened her own shop. So glad she left - I've heard Floyd's puts a quota on their barbers for cuts per day and allocates a time limit to how long a cut should take. Hilary never treated me as a number and always took the time needed to give a quality cut. When she moved to her own salon, I believe the majority of her clients moved with her. She does all of her scheduling online, which makes getting an appointment super easy. She listens to exactly how I want my cut to look, and remembers my preferences from prior visits. She never rushes, always asks for feedback along the way, and makes any changes requested. I have never received a bad cut from her, which is why I continually go back, month-after-month. You will not find a better men's barber in Denver (my biased opinion obviously) and I think it's great that I have the opportunity to support a small business and a woman who loves what she does! Neck shave included is amazing. She always offers a shoulder massage, which I don't personally care for, but each time she offers it nonetheless - amazing care and customer service! Due to her consistent clients, she books up fast, so book in advance. You cannot go wrong with Hilary!

I'm so happy that I found Elly on Yelp, and now I get a fresh cut from her every few weeks. I have no doubt that she's not only one of the best barbers in the south Denver 'burbs, but one of the best in the whole Denver metro area. After moving to Denver from LA (I know, one of those people), where I had gone to some of the most hipster, priciest, tattoo-filled, Instagram-worthy barber shops in the city, I was used to getting great haircuts that came with a great side of laughs. With Elly, I'm happy to say that I still get both. I am that person who asks for something slightly different literally every time that I get my hair cut, even if it's a tiny change, and Elly is happy to accommodate and translate what I'm looking for every time. I fully trust her to take me from style to style, which is a regular thing for me. I look forward to getting a great haircut every time, and it's really fun to have a barber who remembers all of the conversations that you've had about literally anything. Even though it isn't part of the price of the haircut, I learn a lot from Elly from our conversations. It's one of the best parts of my week whenever I come in. Also, you can book your appointments online on Elly's website, which makes your life so much easier. Somehow, in an industry that nearly makes it impossible to do so, Elly somehow always runs on-time. There are a buttload of places closer to my house and work where I could get my hair cut, but now that I found Elly, I don't go anywhere else. If you're looking for your barber anywhere in the south burbs or beyond, look no further than My Barbershop (but book an appointment online first).

Royal Salon Organic Care - Uneven hair Color Correction

Leaving an updated review for Renae! I came back a month back to get my haircut again and it was…read moresuch a great experience again! I always leave the salon feeling refreshed and the hair cut always comes out perfect. Renae cuts, styles, colors, you name it. I highly recommend booking with her.

I visited Royal Organic Salon in June for what I specifically booked as a color correction. Before…read morescheduling, I explained over the phone that my hair had been professionally dyed black (not box dye) and that I wanted to return to my natural level 7 color. During that phone call, I was given the impression that this was something they could do. However, I wasn't told until I had already arrived, was sitting in the chair, and had product applied to my hair that they would not be able to achieve my desired result. I wish I had been informed before the service began so I could have made an informed decision. Instead of a color correction, my roots ended up a completely different color from the rest of my hair, and the overall lift was minimal. My hair was left with multiple different shades--some areas were light brown, others dark brown, and some were still black. It looked almost the same as when I walked in, despite paying well over $300. I was originally quoted around $250 over the phone, so the final price was also much higher than I expected. Because I was unhappy with the results, I went to another stylist for a second opinion. They were able to achieve my desired color in a single appointment for nearly the same price. They also told me that, based on what they saw, it appeared my hair had mainly been treated with a color remover rather than receiving what they would consider a true color correction. I wish this had been explained to me beforehand so I could have made a more informed decision about moving forward. About a week later, I contacted the salon to see if I could receive a partial refund. Unfortunately, that experience was even more disappointing. The manager was very rude, accused me of lying, demanded photo evidence, and referenced reviewing their security camera footage, saying I looked happy during my appointment. Like many people, I wasn't comfortable telling my stylist I disliked my hair while still sitting in the chair, especially knowing I was about to pay for the service. I also didn't fully realize how uneven the color was until I saw my hair in natural sunlight. I've included photos below to show the results. I wasn't looking for a full refund--I simply wanted the salon to acknowledge my concerns and work toward a fair resolution. Instead, I was met with a defensive response. Everyone's experience is different, but based on my experience, I won't be returning. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before booking a color correction here.

I have been going to Scissors & Scotch since before they officially opened. Literally. I started…read moregoing about a month before the shop opened and have been getting my hair cut every other week ever since. Over the years, barbers have changed, but that was due to growth and promotion, not poor service. The staff has always been the reason this place worked. Unfortunately, ownership has changed too -- and that change has been disastrous. Scissors & Scotch used to be more than just a place to get a haircut. It was a place to relax, have a drink, talk with people you genuinely liked, and feel like you were getting a premium experience. It had a great atmosphere, a good bar, talented staff, and a sense of community. It was the kind of place where you could breathe for a bit. That is no longer the case. A month or two ago, the Denver-area franchises were purchased, and under the new ownership, the entire experience has changed -- not for the better, not for the customers, and certainly not for the employees. I have no issue paying a premium for a premium service. I also understand that a business needs to be profitable. But when ownership tries to squeeze more money out of customers while cutting into staff compensation and degrading the customer experience, that is not business strategy. That is short-sighted greed. The staff are the best part of this business, and from what I understand, they are now being treated poorly. Some are not being paid properly, and in some cases, pay has reportedly been cut. Meanwhile, prices have increased dramatically for the same service -- or in some cases, less service. That is insulting to both the employees and the customers. As the longest-standing customer in the Denver area, I had a custom membership that had been grandfathered in because it was created before the shop even opened. I appreciated that. I was loyal. I came in every other week. I spent a lot of money here over the years. And now that membership has been canceled. The message from ownership is clear: loyalty means nothing, pay more and accept less. To the owners: you badly misunderstand why people come here. It is not because of the name on the door. It is not because of the location. It is because of the people working inside. Customers come back because of the barbers. Because of the staff. Because of the relationships. Because this used to feel like a place where both employees and customers mattered. If you treat your employees poorly, they will leave. And when they leave, your customers will follow them. There used to be a high-end barber shop called GQ. Do your research and see what happened when ownership stopped taking care of its people. Spoiler alert: they went under, and Scissors & Scotch rose in its place. It would be a shame to watch the same mistake happen again, but that appears to be exactly where this is headed. I genuinely appreciate the staff. They are talented, professional, kind, and the only reason I stayed loyal for so long. But I will not continue supporting ownership that raises prices, cuts value, mistreats employees, and takes loyal customers for granted. When my barber leaves, I leave. And I know at least ten other people who feel the same way. Maybe ownership does not care right now. Eventually, they will. RIP Scissors & Scotch -- at least the version of it that actually cared and they really did

I feel like I cheated on my girl who usually cuts my hair , but this place lives up to the hype. I know on weekends there not as busy as they are during the week, but that's fine by me. This is a place where a guy can be a guy or a bro to get a haircut. The employees are so welcoming and friendly you almost don't want to leave after your haircut is over with. The girl who cut my hair did such a great job I dozed off during the shoulder massage and mini facial. The vibe is pretty masculine with the leather couches and how the place is decorated. I can't wait to come back for my next haircut.
