The trainer that helped me sign up and gave me a quick tour was very nice. I am giving it a lower rating because of the space. I love old school gyms, but everything was crammed into this location. If there were more people there we would definitely not fit. The machines overlap so it's hard if someone is working out in the area already. On a positive note, they are moving to a new location. I'm excited to go see that one, it looks bigger and closer to my apartment which is great! Will do another review then.

Joined this location after finding the abs machine other gyms didn't have that I've used while back…read morein my home state. Very spacious and rarely have to wait long to get in a good workout. Staff was nice when joining and very reasonable for price of membership at $25 at the time of writing this. My only gripe with this location is they don't have paper towels to wipe down machines before and after each use. Instead they have blue rages and spray bottles placed throughout the gym which is cause for concern. Everyone touching the same towels after working up a sweat is not sanitary. If they corrected this then it'll be a 5 star review.

About six months later, we came back and they had no problem opening brand-new memberships for us. Not a single word was said about any old balance or debt. We have now been going to this gym again for more than two years, paying every month, and the front desk repeatedly told us that we had no outstanding balance. And now, out of nowhere, debt collectors are demanding about $150 from each of us for those old memberships. Apparently, the gym once failed to charge around $10, and somehow that magically turned into a $150 collection account. If this debt was real, why were we allowed to open new memberships? Why did nobody mention it for years? Why did the staff tell us our accounts were clear? And now the gym's response is basically: "We can't do anything, it's already with collections." Very convenient. In my opinion, this is an extremely shady and dishonest business practice. Keep every cancellation receipt, email, screenshot, and document if you deal with this place, because years later you may suddenly get a surprise call from a debt collector. After this, I have zero trust in this business.

Location for the boot camp is Northshore Park, which is an awesome llocation. Lots of room and plenty of parking. I've only been to the night workouts so far as my work schedule doesn't allow me to make the AM sessions. Damon is great! Friendly and encouraging. His workouts so far are killer. My legs were screaming at me for the two days after my first session. But I felt great! More awake and energized throughout the day. Wednesday night session I attended was being led by John, who..booooyyyy, that was crucial. I didn't think I could get through that one but he kept pushing us right til the end. Good workout! The other people in the sessions have been very welcoming for the most part. I've got a ways to go still to get to where I need to be and so far, very happy with St Pete Boot Camp!

I know the difference between 'good', 'average' and 'bad' when it comes to PT's. I'm a Male in my early 60's who is focused on Power Lifting training and wants someone to have an eagle eye in form/technique to mitigate risk of injury and to optimize my time in the gym. In my eyes, 'good' starts with a PT who is prepared (the plan is set before I arrive for the session, not 'made up on the fly'), a PT who engaged throughout the session, monitoring technique/ensuring good form to mitigate injury risk and who is personable/fun to work with while not being afraid to push me to heights/challenges I likely wouldn't take on by myself. Andrew Cao, the Director of the St Pete location, is a very good leader and sets the tone for the high levels of professionalism that each of the trainers exhibit as I watch them work with their clients. My trainer, Joe Cameron, has been exceptional to work with & is beyond 'good' as outlined above. - The gym is never 'packed' (5 clients at one time is max I've seen during my 3 months and it's busy w/out being claustrophobic). - You are greeted warmly, by name, by all upon arrival, - the facility has all the major equipment you need - the 'Trainerize' app they use is the best I've encountered in my fitness journey and is comprehensive re: exercise (w/videos available for every movement), food, water & steps tracking all-in-one. - the place is as clean as a whistle with towels provided along with home brewed Nitro Coffee.
