When you buy a piece at Chariots on Fire and place it in your house, people will see it and try understand its meaning; but ultimately they will understand you. Give yourself 30-40 mins minimum to find a spot!! Store - it's located at the edge of the main Abbott Kinney rows of stores. Clean, bright, lots of employees helping customers. It's Valentine's Day so it's busy busy! Piercing Studio - Marley was FANTASTIC! I was late to my appt by an hour - traffic horrific & parking horrendous. However, Marley gave up her lunch break to accommodate me. She explained clearly what she was going to do at this follow-up. It was to replace the flat back to a shorter one since it's healing well. My best friend lives in Venice and often walks down Abbott Kinney Boulevard and mentioned seeing a pop-up for permanent jewelry almost every week. We were lucky enough to find Diana's shop set up outside at 6:30 PM when many other shops were already closing. She mentioned this is becoming a permanent storefront soon and that she plans to still utilize the outdoor space to attract foot traffic and set up outside as well. She was such a gem - clearly, very knowledgeable about her craft, and so friendly. There were five times the number of chain options than any other place I've ever seen do permanent jewelry, with reasonable prices ranging from about $50-$90 for a bracelet, depending on the thickness and quality you choose. She even gave us 10% off because we got three. We loved talking to her, she's a local and has so much personality and is such a sweetheart. I was dazzled with the unique collections and was shocked to learn the prices were so much less $$$$ than the jewelry shops in Beverly Hills (Mikimoto, Cartier, Van Clefs, Tiffany, DeBeers) to name a few. Mr Jackson was knowledgeable about diamonds and pearls and gave me some pointers on what would be complimentary on my hand...he said, based on the degree of measurement/distance from certain fingers and joints, 'a large diamond/pearl, on a large setting would look fabulous on me,' Ha! I brought my wedding band in for a repair after one diamond fell out (which I was fortunate enough…read moreto find). I was quoted a little over $200 for the diamond replacement and a very minor resize of ¼ size down. When I went to pick up the ring, I was informed--after the work was already completed--that additional prongs had been replaced on both sides of the ring and that I now owed an extra $240. I was never contacted, informed, or asked for approval before this additional work was done. The explanation given was that some of the prong work was necessary due to resizing. However, after waiting over 40 minutes at pickup because the ring was "in billing," I was then told the resize had actually been forgotten entirely and had to be done on the spot. This made the justification for the unapproved prong work even more concerning. After calling twice and initially being brushed off by sales associates, I finally spoke with the owner, who acknowledged that I had not consented to the extra work and agreed to waive the additional charge. While I appreciate the owner ultimately correcting the billing, the situation itself should never have occurred. Jewelry--especially a wedding band--is deeply personal. Any additional work, design changes, or charges should never be performed without explicit customer approval. Between the unapproved services, forgotten resize, and billing delay, the experience felt disorganized and stressful. I would urge future customers to proceed with caution, insist on written estimates, and require approval before any additional work is done.

I was simply having a private conversation with my friend and deciding whether I wanted to buy the item. I found the way the situation was handled unnecessary and uncomfortable.
