The boat shuttle is a small little boat that fits up to 6 people and it took all of 5-10 minutes to get from the ferry dock to Honeymoon. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They set up your chairs wherever you want on the beach. They pull out the kayaks for you and give you the snorkel gear. I was a little disappointed because if you are just doing the equipment rental you're not allowed to kayak passed the confines of honeymoon beach, which is kind of small. I have a feeling that is for your own safety though so you don't get overzealous and find yourself lost out on the water without a tour guide! We didn't end up using the SUPs but they were available if we wanted. We snorkeled and unfortunately there wasn't a lot of fish. But we did see a couple sea turtles which was what I was hoping for!! I will say, the food and drinks they sell in the hut are super expensive and downright not worth it. So bring a mini cooler with snacks and water if you can! It was a leisurely day and we liked being able to snorkel and kayak of our own free will!

And the beach was free but it cost $10 to taxi ride down to the beach. The pizza was good The drinks were overpriced. But the souvenir cup was worth it. Not sure I come back again but who knows so sure?

I would not recommend Virgin Ecotours. I booked an evening kayaking excursion, a few hours before…read morethe excursion. I mapped the location from the resort where I was staying, to the meet up location. I got a taxi to take us & we left with ample extra time to get to the location. Apparently there was an accident and our driver indicated that he was going to turn around and go another way, which would get us there right on the dot. However, route 2 was not panning out, as now other traffic also used that route. I emailed the company multiple times requesting if it was possible to move to next day. ZERO response. I texted the company phone number, requesting the same. ZERO response. I called before texting, no answer. I did this from the date of our reservation until into the afternoon the next day. Very, very disappointed, as their booking calendar showed availability for the following day, but no one would respond. So not only did we miss out on something fun, but we are out $250. Would not recommend whatsoever given the complete lack of communication. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Not only did we take the two person kayaks out for a 3 mile spin, but we learned about the importance of the mangroves, island history, Caribbean Hermit Crab (aka Soldier Crab) and the highly toxic Manchineel Tree (the deadliest tree on earth). Wait, there's more! We also did some snorkeling where some in our group caught a glimpse of a sting ray and a lone barracuda. All in all, a great experience and I highly recommend this place for an unforgettable Ecotour. Thanks!

My wife and I have visited the USVI's about twenty times during the past twenty-five years. This…read morewas our first stay on St. John and our first St. John day sail. We have always taken at least one day sail during each visit to the islands. The Survivan is a very well equipped and modern boat. Jason was very knowledgeable and capable as captain. When making the reservation for the trip I forgot to ask one question. That question being, do you live on the boat? If yes, I try to avoid the boat. What we have found is that when you are visiting the captain's home, the attitude is more that this is my residence as opposed to this is where I run my business. This trip was no exception. When we arrived onboard something seemed to be wrong between Jason and Lou. There was a bit of tension in the air. In fact, Lou did not really interact with anyone until after the first snokel stop. This was also the first time we were offered anything to drink. After a quick sail to a calm area, lunch was served. Lunch was a large sub with several side salads. While we ate on deck Jason and Lou were doing dishes and other housekeeping activities downs stairs. After lunch there was one more snorkel stop and a quick trip back to port. Our experiences in have past have been on boats where you are offered breakfast and drinks as soon as you stepped onboard. The captain and mate are usually talkative beyond belief and willing to serve guest. Lunch varies in quality but is the time when the captain and crew bend over backwards to make sure you have what you need. Jason and Lu were very nice. When prompted they would talk and knew some great details about St. John and St. Thomas. We have taken enough day sails to compare services and boats. The Survivan is not the worst boat we have spent a day sailing. It is however from the best.
