It originally started out as the Corning Hilton, with its commercial modernist design, and was a success from the time it opened. Later Hilton sold it to the Radisson and in August of 2022 it was purchased by Choice Hotels. We have stayed here many times over the years and since Choice purchased the hotel we have seen improvements in the overall condition of the building; however, much improvement needs to take place. For example, our room air conditioner was noisy and uncomfortably cold/warm all evening. The main hotel AC was very warm considering we had mid-90s degrees temperature during the daytime. Secondly, we felt that the bar, although attended quite nicely, the drinks were half the size that we remember while prices considerably higher. Lastly, another negative would be the overall condition of their outside gardens and plantings. I brought it to their attention because they have beautiful gardens and planting spaces, but they're not well cared for: a lot is overgrown with weeds and dead plants. The staff was kind and accommodating and we would return mostly because of its location to Market Street. Ironically, we have stayed at the hotel across the river (now Hilton) and that has always been a good experience with the exception of having to walk over the bridge to get to Market Street.

Advertised as having a game room - there was a single foosball table in one room. The hot tub was unusable as it was also dirty. There was WiFi but it did not work in the upstairs bedrooms or outside. Many upstairs air conditioning units did not work. The bathrooms probably haven't been cleaned in years. Plenty of towels and clean sheets. One positive was the outdoor area. The grounds are very nice and plenty of seating. However, there are quite a few spotlights on all night which shine through the bedrooms on the garage side of the house. Definitely not appropriate for a formal gathering considering the amount of dirty areas.

Nothing. HOWEVER, there are some lovely front desk staff who make having to be here worth it. I checked in with Britney and checked out with Brenden, and both were kind and as helpful as they could be given the isolation of this property. This property has been recently renovated, so many of the common areas and the hallways show this updating, but things like the carpet in the rooms and the bathrooms have clearly been an afterthought. I'm not mad, though, because this was a quick stop in a long journey to get home. Thankfully, everyone was nice, the hotel was quiet, and my bed was comfortable. The only reason this place gets 4 rather than 5 stars is the breakfast bag I got to-go. Who in their right mind serves a bagel with only peanut butter and jelly?! This is NY and I can't get cream cheese with my bagel?!?! COME ON, HILTON!

Every single staff member on my most recent two visits was polite, efficient, and super competent. The place is sparkling clean, and their housekeeping unit has a large staff (compared to similar places I've stayed recently). The pool room is super relaxing and (literally) warm; guests have their choice between a small whirlpool and a small regular pool. The latter was a bit too cold for me, but plenty of other folks made regular use of it. Breakfast is your typical Hampton Inn fare, though I've always thought Hampton's breakfast food is better than most economy/express hotels. (And don't tell anyone, but I may or may not have snuck in a bowl of Lucky Charms at one point...) More than anything, the staff there is just plain NICE, welcoming, and kind -- and in a clearly authentic, down-to-earth way. But this year, I was very affected by something they did in customer service. The room we were given last night is our room with large windows that have the lights right outside of them that light up the building. This blazing light starts at sunset and end at sunrise. Even with the blackout blinds, it is bright in our room at night. We also can't look out the window after dark or before sunrise because of the glare of the light. When I asked them to please change our room, they said they did not have any other room in our "tier" which means in the price point we paid. The hotel is virtually empty this weekend. Nevertheless, they are choosing not to give us a different room as a service. I am so very hurt and disappointed. It's a great hotel and a great location. But this inflexibility, even for silver members like us, feels very sad and unnecessary.
