Let me start by saying we pulled up to this hotel and noticed that several units had the windows open and the husband and I were concerned with the recent weather that there was a problem. When we walked in there was no one at the front desk to greet us and we were asked to pick up a phone no one even answered. We hung up and this elderly lady comes from upstairs and says she is here and walks around to the desk. We greeted her and simply asked if the AC was working. I can't get hot at night or I will get a migraine. She then proceeded to say if I didn't want to stay then we didn't have to. Then she got hostile and mumbling then she started calling me a racist simply because I asked if the air was working. I was shocked I suddenly didn't feel comfortable. She then said that you booked through Experian so they will have to refund you. My husband said let's just go and as we are walking out she yells across the lobby that she is an American. It was the crazies most uncomfortable thing I have had to experience with a hotel ever. I called Experian and they told me that she was only going to allow us 2 of our 3 nights back. That makes no sense that I would have to pay for a stay somewhere where the manager/ employee made things hostile and awkward. The wife or old lady shut the door on me because i went out one time and came back during the night time. shes very rude and unprofessional and causes unecesary problems. she told me if somebody in the room call them to open the door while talking to me with the door open then proceeds ro shut it in my face. i payed for a night and shes being straight up non considerate of her customers. terrible hotel i ever stayed at in my life . read more

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Rooms haven't been update in 20-30 years. Entire hotel smells of cigarette smoke and marijuana. The beds are hard as rocks and the recliner and bathtub have burns marks, but don't worry, the guy at the front desk says my room hasn't been smoked in! The price was over $100 and I would have honestly rarher stayed in a tent! I'm sure breakfast tomorrow will make up for it. Good afternoon. I'm writing to inform you about a hotel that I stayed in as a Wyndham member. I have never stayed in a hotel in such terrible shape in my 58 years of life. It was dirty. It had spiders in the bathtub. It had bed bugs in the beds. It was in terrible need of repair in general. The hotel was a Super 8 located in Marshall, MO. Ran by Mehta, Inc. Site ID # - 03531. (1809-U-2). Every article of my clothing was place in a tied bag until I returned home and thrown in the washer after I hit the back door. I paid more then $125.00 to stay in this despicable hotel. You all should be ashamed to associate yourselves with such a nasty place. Upon entering the hotel we waited 25 minutes to check in w/ front office staff that did not speak enough English to understand them. I was asked for my license and my credit card. They took a copy of both, which did not set well with me. After getting the room key and going up the stairs, I noticed the steps were dirty as I climbed the stairs. Then I couldn't get the electronic room key to open the door. I descended back down the dirty stairs to get a replacement. After entering the room, I found the following to be unacceptable: Cigarette smell was over-powering Cigarette burns on the sink counter Dirt and debris in the corners of the room A disgusting recliner chair that had dirty, nasty stains on the seat on the top area where someone's dirty head made stains. I did not sit or touch this chair. Spiders in the bathtub. I know, I know Orkins comes to spray routinely (doubtful). PS - They're doing a terrible job for pest control. Stop paying them, because it's not working. Bug bites on my legs after waking in the morning. Suspect bed bugs. The fan in the bathroom sounds like a 747. No internet access at all in the rooms. Cards to access room did not work on multiple occasions. Cars in the parking lot that were blocked up to keep them from moving. Possible homeless people hanging out in the parking lot?? I have pictures. I did not feel safe here. Cigarette butts on the grounds The grab and go breakfast was a joke. Granola bars and coffee. After check out, I asked for the xerox copy of my license and credit card that was taken without my consent. In broken English, I was told that my credit card copy can be shredded (which she did at the time in front of me), but the copy of my license needed to be retained for billing purposes. Not sure what that was about. As I paid in advance on Hotels.com. I still would like to have the copy of my license back!!! Wyndham Hotels used to have a level of quality that was remarkable. I deeply regret to tell you that I will no longer use Wyndham Hotels as my hotel of choice for future travel for personal or professional use. Good luck with your reputation. read more

Staff is rude, unaccommodating, and very unprofessional. I travel on business several weeks a year and stay in various hotels globally. With the exception of a Unknown Hotel in Gulgong Australia and a rather interesting temporary "hotel" in Al Mirfa UAE this is ranks as one of most unpleasant experiences ever. That said, hotel prices in Marshall seem to be competing with those in San Fransisco or Boston so I'm sure this hotel will have the opportunity to regain my loyalty. read more

The worst, booked on Expedia from the road early evening. I arrived in the middle of the night and drove 10 miles off the highway... based on Expedia's listings and where I expected to be at the time I was ready to sleep... very cranky and inconsiderate desk clerk, sketchy with your personal information, but I just wanted to sleep for the night... after some lecturing about not switching rooms with my fellow traveler , I grabbed my stuff and went to my 2nd floor room with no elevator. I arrived at the room and immediately turned around and walked out ... the bed was sunken and sloppily made, the carpet was filthy and worn greasy black in spots, the arms of the chair were threadbare and the carpet was curled at the wall, not to mention the smoke smell , I didn't even go in the bathroom, I just walked back out to the lobby, told the clerk how filthy it was and left. Unfortunately it was a Non refundable booking with Expedia so I lost $165 . Well worth not staying in that filthy place and risking bugs or scabies or foot fungus following me for the rest of the trip....DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

Well, I didn't really want to stay in a city called Booneville on my road trip from Santa Fe to Illinois, so I opted for super 8 of Marshall. These five stars, mind you, are relative to the super-8-ness of this motel, so don't expect some type of fabulous 5-star. All the same, I think this is my favorite super 8. I'm an avid road-tripper, driving from Los Angeles to Illinois and back every year for work. This is the first year I road-tripped alone and, as a young woman, I felt safe. All the rooms are accessed from the inside of the motel and I basically parked right outside the front door. Further, there are gas stations and a plaza right near by, so it's not too remote. Most importantly, all three of the receptionists were very kind and friendly, and I was impressed that a super 8 managed to hire several staff members who are customer oriented. When I called, the guy even gave me a lower price than he had originally quoted. The room was nice enough, quite big, and I had a king-size mattress all to myself. Worst in The Wyndham family. We are diamond class members and this place is unclean, has broken fixtures and it is very difficult to understand the staff. We will only ever stay here again in an emergency. The price is high for the conditions. There is an abandoned car which has been in the lot for more than a year. We attempted to negotiate a better rate and explained why, the desk clerk walked away and never returned. Broken AC controls, nauseating musty smell, broken electrical outlet. IF YOU ARE MILITARY OR NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT OPSEC DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I cancelled a reservation because I accidentally booked the wrong dates, my bad. Sunday we get a phone call that we need to get our things or we will be charged another night. They clearly let someone stay in that room without checking an ID. That's the main point. The following is the whole story. I booked the wrong dates through booking.com under the nonrefundable price. My bad. No worries. I called to see if we could shift the dates they did not. Again, my mistake I respect the terms and conditions. Sunday the 18th, I receive a phone call from this motel "Asking are you going to extend your stay?" I said we cancelled the booking through booking.com and we never checked in. She "Said Mr. Downey...(I put it on speaker in front of my family and my partner in Wichita) we are going to charge another night if you do not collect your things immediately the cleaning crew needs to clean if you are not going to extend your stay." I said "Those are not our things we didn't check-in." Her response, "WHAT DONT YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT COLLECTING YOUR THINGS OR WE WILL CHARGE YOU ANOTHER NIGHT?" I passed the phone over to my partner because I did not want to respond with the same disrespect. What ended up happening is that we had to suggest us calling the cops for them because they had let someone else into the room without checking an ID or taking a card. That was resolved with let me go to talk to the manager we will call you back. No callback and probably for the best. The delay in this review was due to contacting my bank and going through corporate with a partial voice recording of the phone call. Key take-a-way, I am very grateful that we were not there because who knew what the intentions could have been. This place is a dump it needed remodeled 10 years ago, but that's the plus. Management is horrible. I can't believe Wyndham puts there name behind this hotel. This place was beyond horrible. They are infested with spiders -- no joke. We tried two different rooms and spiders were in both rooms. The sheets had blood stains on them (which the owner acknowledged), and the light shade was ripped off the light fixture. The place stunk. When we expresed our dissatisfaction the owner said, "If you are not satisfied, then we don't want to have you here". Enough said. I had read bad reviews elsewhere, but thought I can tolerate it for one night -- cheap enough. I was wrong. I zipped across to Comfort Inn as fast as my car could carry me (hopefully no spiders crawled into my bags while I was at the Super 8), and will never stay at another Super 8 EVER! read more

Wow! Where do I start? WORSE HOTEL EVER!!! It was like being in the middle of the desert when we got back from dinner and we turned the air condition on the coldest possible setting before we left. Unlike the owners we are not used to desert heat. Glad we stayed on the first floor. It would have been even worse if we didn't. The room never cooled, but if you stepped out in the hall the heat smacked you in the face. When we went in the bathroom there was a long black hair in the sink. Nice! The next morning we were greeted at the free breakfast bar with expired yogurt & microwave danish. I went for the cereal with watered down milk & my husband tried making a waffle. That waffle batter had to be from 2007! Oh my goodness!!! It was bad enough we were coming in town for a funeral, but I can honestly say the funeral wasn't as bad as these accommodations! Do not stay here. Choose a different hotel in the area. Terrible customer service...they will not let you cancel your reservations regardless to if you call to cancel 24 hours before. It smells god awful, the beds are uncomfortable and everything is crooked. read more
