But once you get to know the people and history, you find the heart of a town that is so warm, kind and real. We love the vibe of this Iron Horse Hotel. It's so charming, unique, historic and is a one-of-a-kind find. Nichole was so friendly and helpful and puts a lot of love and care into this hotel. It's not your typical hotel--it's truly a unique old-town experience. The ceilings are high, the furniture is antique and the details are divine. Other than an occasional train (which is part of the history) it's so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and if we are ever in the area again, we'd definitely stay here! After having dinner with friends in Columbia, we came back expecting to just chill at the Iron Horse but stumbled across a fun group at Dapper Daq. We had so much fun with them! In the morning when we checked out, we visited Christina's for breakfast and she made a wonderful spread. I can't get hot at night or I will get a migraine. She then proceeded to say if I didn't want to stay then we didn't have to. Then she got hostile and mumbling then she started calling me a racist simply because I asked if the air was working. I was shocked I suddenly didn't feel comfortable. She then said that you booked through Experian so they will have to refund you. My husband said let's just go and as we are walking out she yells across the lobby that she is an American. It was the crazies most uncomfortable thing I have had to experience with a hotel ever. I called Experian and they told me that she was only going to allow us 2 of our 3 nights back. That makes no sense that I would have to pay for a stay somewhere where the manager/ employee made things hostile and awkward.
