1/2 Chicken White Meat Sides: Fried Yucca and Chaufa Rice with pinto beans on top

Insanely good food. Like good enough that we happily drove 45 minutes out of our way to go here. The portions are absolutely monstrous. They can't even close the lid on the container there's so much in it. The staff is super friendly everything is constantly being freshly prepared and restocked. Plenty of seating inside but nothing outside that I've seen. The line can get long on a weekday for lunch, so plan ahead! Some of the best Peruvian chicken I've had anywhere. Definitely go!

Quick service, fresh hot food! People were inside picking up orders, no one eating inside. Customers kept telling employees how much they like the business and employees. Chill vibes.

We ordered a whole chicken with two sides and the meal came with 6 sauces which were 2 different sauces in six little cups. I liked the sweet creamy white sauce, but the creamy green sauce wasn't our favorite....just not for us. The chicken was great! It was super juicy and had a great mild flavor. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet and the green beans were nothing spectacular. I'd like to try some other sides like yucca next time. Good place to try in the area to pick up food. Inexpensive and friendly service.

Half Chicken, Rice, and Plantains for under $10. Can't beat this baby!!

The people complaining about this place are probably the same ones that go to McDonald's and tell their friends that food is good/healthy with a straight face. If you've been in the APG area, you know decent food is hard to find. Sure there are the typical fast food joints, but if you want something different and slightly better, look no further. I found this place when my car broke down last year. It was in some random area off the road. Probably the worst location ever. But where they lose in location, they make up in food, prices, and quantities. I attached a picture I've had now twice. No complaints except they overcharge on the drinks IMO. But hey, bring your own water or wait until after you eat. This place is underrated, terribly located, but makes tummys elated.

This was recommended to me by a friend and when I looked at yelp to check the reviews i was convinced, went there on a Sunday and its not that busy. I got the specialty chicken Churrasco de pollo and it did not disappoint, my hubby got the 1/2 chicken and he liked it. Would be going back again

I got the quarter chicken with fries and potatoes. The chicken was very good , had flavor and wasn't dry . The fries were pretty bland and the potatoes were cold but tasted okay.

Turns out it's 5 minutes from their home and they have eaten here many times. :) Lots of free parking in this shopping center. Easy entrance/exit, too. We arrived at about 11:40 and there was nobody inside except staff. The place is sparkling clean and the menu extensive! We both agreed we'll come back another time and try some different Peruvian specialties. But for today, I have been wanting a traditional 1/4 dark chicken, rice & beans, and coleslaw. This meal (entrée + two sides) includes a drink, for $10.60 with tax. We were out of there in 5 minutes - no kidding! and took our food to my friend's house to eat. Bonus for fast service! First, the chicken. Ohhhhh my. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, and that distinctive spice mix that says pollo a la brasa. I could have eaten a whole chicken! But I know better ... lol Coleslaw: exactly the right mix of sweet and tangy for me. Some folks don't like sweet at all, so you should know, it is a little sweet. But crispy and not at all droopy. Rice and beans: these are mixed together and it's brilliant. The black beans are cooked just enough to not be mushy, and the "sauce" from them has a hint of spice that melds beautifully with the vaguely saffron rice. Sauces: ah, here's a thing. The yellow sauce was perfect. The green sauce was FIERY. I found a good recipe for "authentic" Peruvian green sauce and have been making it at home for over a year. But truth to tell, I grow my own jalapeños and none of them were super hot. Both of us were a bit surprised at how hot the sauce was. It was just over the edge for me, and we added a little mayo (how many of you know it's made with mayo? lol) which brought it down to tasty level. It's really one of the best Peruvian chicken places in the whole area, and I will definitely be back!

I did not feel rushed until the desert course was served with the check. The variety of the dishes was fun to experience; each course was very different. Puerto 511 does really well with seafood. My favorites courses were the Ceviche Amazonico and the Tamalito Verde. The flavors were incredible. The Pulpo en su Causa was also a very interesting dish. The combination of ingredients and the inclusion of a cold mashed potato component were both innovative. I was disappointed with the other courses, though. The veal was tough, the lamp chop was tough, and the desert was not very flavorful. The quinoa flan and the passionfruit ice cream did not match very well in flavor or texture. The restaurant building itself was ok. The ambiance did not indicate fine dining to me. The service was not very personable. I would like to come back sometime in a different season, when there is a new menu. But overall, I would say Puerto 511 is definitely a dining experience worth trying.

I wanna start by saying I did NOT get food poisoning...but if I did get food poisoning from this…read morerestaurants food I would still come back for more. I have genuinely never had a better experience at any food establishment than I did at Rocoto. My husband and I ordered the chicken and beef empanadas to start and the smell of the crust alone was enough to brighten our day but the whole of it altogether was an ethereal experience. Perfect combination of a delicious crunchy, flaky crust with a beautiful combination of flavors waiting inside. We would have been delighted to leave it at the empenadas, that alone would have been enough for a 5 (10 if I could) star review but we also ordered the birria tacos and the beef bistec a lo pobre which easily brings us up to a 30 star review. The tacos has a perfect balance of Oaxaca cheese and tender meat with a beautiful flavor and plenty of onion and cilantro and the perfect dipping broth to kick the flavor to the best birria tacos I've ever had. And the bistec a lo pobre with a side of fried plantains? Quoted directly from my husband, "I've never seen you have a slow blink because you've like a food this much." The plantains had such a beautiful flavor (that's the 3rd and probably not the last use of the word beautiful I've used in this review), the meat in and of itself was perfectly cooked and beautifully (see?) flavorful. I could have eaten that all alone but a big bite with the egg, plantains, meat and rice (which again, somehow could have been a perfect meal all on it's own. I can't imagine how someone makes rice taste soooo good but they've done it) was almost an exact reenactment of the scene from Rattatouille when he eats that piece of cheese with a strawberry and the scene shows fireworks and swirls as he discovered a newfound love of the new flavor combo. It almost feels like I've never had food before today it's thay good. You will almost never catch me wanting dessert at a restaurant but after what had been the best eating experience we've ever had we decided we had to stay a little bit longer, have some delicious chocolate cake and fried ice cream while we waited for our to-go order of empanadas to take home to enjoy later. The server was a very attentive lovely young woman who we sent to send our compliments to the owner (something we've never done) who was so kind to come over and chat with us for a minute. The restaurant was very calm, quiet and clean which is very refreshing for two people who are very tired of glaringly loud restaurants. The only noise we could hear between the two of us was laughter, joy and excitement over how good this food was. If you know the Lord you'll feel how blessed this food is....we walked into this restaurant after a deep heartfelt conversation about the sad things in our lives, shedding tears right outside in the car. From the moment we stepped in all the way up to writing this review 2 hours later we've experienced a joy like no other meal has ever brought us before. We can not wait to go back and bring everyone we know with us for as long as they'll let us in the building. If you've been thinking about trying this place out I say RUN, GO NOW! You do not know what you're missing.
