This place was AMAZING. They had everything you could ask for - from salads to chicken, to steaks to shrimp scampis. Everyone was super nice with plenty of "good samaritan" vibes. people holding doors, helping each other, and the employees constantly checking in to make sure everything looked clean/stocked. We decided to stop into Golden Corral and honestly went in with pretty average expectations, but this visit ended up surprising us in a really good way. The biggest standout was the 7.99 lobster tail. I was not expecting much at that price point, but it was actually cooked really well. It was not overdone, had a nice texture, and was way more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Definitely one of those items you try just to see and then end up being impressed. We also grabbed a steak, and for a buffet style setting it was solid. It had good flavor, was cooked to a decent temperature, and the portion size was actually generous which I appreciated. The interior looked like it had been recently updated which made a big difference. Everything felt clean and more modern than I expected. The food stations were constantly being refreshed, nothing looked like it had been sitting out too long, and there were always clean plates available. Service was another highlight. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and very attentive. We never had to ask for drink refills because she was already on top of it, which always stands out to me. There is a ton of variety here, so it is easy to find something you are in the mood for. I met with a group of ladies for a gathering over breakfast. I'm normally not fond of buffets especially since Covid. However, we got there when they opened and was the first group to be seated. Everything was fresh and you could get omelets made to order. They have the sanitizer and gloves where you retrieve your place which I was highly impressed with. My problem was the man cooking the steak. I don't know what happened to the golden corral I knew Now you cannot talk to a man behind the counter cooking steak. He does not understand he wasn't able to talk to you .You was unable to let him know that there was too much fat on that piece of steak. He would just give you what he wanted. We went to the Golden Coral for a Harley Owners Group Polar Bear Brunch on January 1. The restaurant is very large with several different seating areas. You pay at the front and get your drinks there. Our group was seated in a separate room. Unfortunately, we were expecting breakfast food and when I asked a server about that, she curtly responded that they only do breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and asked why had I not done my research. Fortunately, another server named Brandy made up for the rudeness of the first server. Brandy was at the top of her game - she kept us in coffee and cleared away our plates in a timely manner. First time ever trying a Golden Corral, and I have to say I was impressed. I went for breakfast, and they had everything I like in a breakfast buffet. They had the fluffy scrambled eggs. They had the sausage links and bacon. They had hash browns and potatoes, and they even had something called hash brown casserole, which was quite good! I saw fresh cinnamon buns, and French toast and an omelette station, and just about everything you could want for breakfast. Fruit, cereal, grits, pork chops, muffins, soup, Chicken, fish, everything! Again, I've never been, so I didn't know if it would be good, but it was actually great. There were some massive people there, but that probably goes with the territory at an AYCE place. I am now seriously considering returning soon for the dinner buffet. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they had that soupy cheese sauce that you don't ever want to admit that you really love, but when you see it, you just have to drizzle some of it on your scrambled eggs. Yeah, I did that today. ...and If you work at this location, you are doing excellent work! It was clean, and tidy, and efficient. Please keep doing what you are doing. Our family has had many gatherings here and always had a good meal and a fun time. I had friends visiting from Virginia last weekend and they chose this restaurant for our Sunday dinner together. The food was delicious, especially the nice piece of steak I always like to get for a treat. The chef cut me a nice portion cooked just the way I requested. We were there until closing, but no one ever made us feel rushed and the servers were great as they always are. Not a buffet frequent at all but the few times that I have went there the place was decent. The service in the front can be a hit or miss but i am so outgoing the person ends up in a good mood by the time i pass by. Finding a seat or having someone take you when it's really busy isn't normally a problem. Depending on what time you come there's plenty of seating. The parking lot is also a plus because it's so big you usually never have a problem parking. The food is not your "I an a foodie" type food but it gets the job done. I have been to this location for breakfast and for dinner. The breakfast is normally so delicious. They have a few stations to get omlettes and other stuff made by hand by an employee. During dinner they have the carved meats, and there is sometime stations that have a specialty food of the night. The desserts have been pretty decent as well. I am a bread pudding fan but normally don't actually put pudding in it...well I believe Golden Corral adds something different and normally that is the dessert i fancy. Well the bread pudding is something I have had to ask for a brand new batch to be made because they will have an old batch sitting there waiting for love. Couldn't really tell you much about the drinks except they have the standard sodas and water which is my norm. If you are hungry and decide you want an array of food this is your place. They do offer military discount and i believe under 2 is free. Certain they also do the kids eat free as well, so keep a look out! read more

Not all Golden Corrals are the same. If you've been to locations in big cities, don't expect that type of experience here. This location will probably be below expectations. I came here for dinner because I was hungry and wanted to try it once while visiting APG for travel. As soon as I arrived, it looked like your standard Golden Corral. However, the place seems old and the food was pretty average to bland. Not much of the food was healthy outside of the salad bar. Their special of unlimited ribs tasted like rubber and definitely did not fall off any bones. I was hoping they had cinnamon buns in their desert area like other locations which they did not. Overall, I regret spending over $16 for the dinner price and probably wish I went here for breakfast instead. I just didn't like most of the dinner selection. Service was nice. Food not so much. I really didn't expect much from Golden Corral but the three dinners I received today changed my mind. We had meatloaf, pot roast and a fried chicken dinner each containing mash potatoes as a side. I'm impressed with the quality of the food at Golden Corral now. Having said that, I went there for lunch recently and I don't think I'd go back unless it's for dinner. There are a lot more protein choices at that time. The soups look like they've been sitting all day without being stirred. I spoke with the manager about it. He said that the soups are stirred regularly but that there's no lid on them and they dry out, as there's no steam without a lid. I felt better about eating them. Tip: If you don't have any cash to tip the servers, you can add money to your bill at the register. They work really hard. Please tip them well. I don't understand why the meal rates aren't on their website. You have to call a restaurant to find out how much you'll pay. It's gone up significantly over the years. For 2 of us at lunch, with soda, was $31.76. If you don't order drinks, you'll save a little ($2.99?). It's kind of loud. Tip: There's a quiet room in the back near the desserts that blocks out a lot of noise. Tip: It took me a few visits before I realized that the dessert bar extends to the side and you can make a sundae or ice cream cone there. Visited last night now that my county opened up 100% occupancy. Was very pleased to see they still had the tables spaced apart and now required gloves and masks to access the buffet (They provide the gloves). Food was amazing as always. My kids tell me this location is head and shoulders above others they have visited. I absolutely LOVE the pot roast, jumbo fried shrimp and fried chicken. I came to this location because I had a horrible experience in Johnson city, Tennessee. I was given a certificate to come and try the golden coral experience on them. I must say this location was like Ruth Chris compared to the other location. The staff was extremely professional, friendly, and well put together. The manager was seen throughout the whole dining experience. Everything was neat and orderly. Spatulas to retrieve food were clean, the food appeared to be fresh and hot. Everything looked tasty. The food! Well the food was WAY better then the slop Johnson city was serving. I even ate the same entrees the bourbon street chicken, sirloin, friend shrimp, Mac and cheese.... I go all out.... lol but the food at this location was delicious, the other was so different I was shocked they would taste so not like one another... I thought they all used the same recipes? I guess not.... lol They had a nice desert selection, pies, cookies, chocolate fountain, ice cream, brownies, cakes, fruit.... quit the array.... When you order online they should stop offering curbside delivery because they Don't! I pulled into the designated spot and told the restaurant I was "here" after 10 minutes I went inside, there were 3 servers behind the counter I got the rude one she handed me my bags and went back to the group I'm sorry I included the 15% tip. I enjoyed the fried chicken. It was seasoned well, fried perfectly and delicious. The shrimp were tasty as well. My favorite was the buttery fresh bread!! I had to reframe from eating just bread!! Listen, it's a buffet so don't expect steak house or five star quality food. If you want a place that's clean, reasonably priced, everyone can get something they want and keeps you from cooking.. This is the place. Now, weekends and especially Sunday afternoons can be crowded. The upside to weekends is everything is typically fresh and hot because people are eating it so quickly that they are constantly putting out new batches of everything. Here's the thing you should keep in mind when it comes to the review of a chain buffet restaurant. Sure, they get their food from the same suppliers, and have their buffet lined up according to corporate standards, but from what I understand, Golden Corral is actually a franchise and your experience can differ owner to owner. Whomever owns or manages this location goes out of their way to ensure that the staff they have is friendly, the food is always hot, fresh and that the location is impeccably clean. Is it a date night kind of place? No. But you don't expect it to be. However, I have had some serious negative experiences at other locations, and, while in Aberdeen, is a location that if I do decide to visit a buffet, is worth the extra 25 minutes out of my way to get here. read more

The owners are sweet, the staff behind the glass needs a lot of work. We've witnessed fights, cussing, slamming of things. When the owners aren't there, the staff acts indifferent or down right rude (lately, so has the wait staff, which is odd because they are usually great). It's a huge buffet, so it's definitely buffet food. Unfortunately right now, they are stuck in the "dinner for breakfast" national campaign. And it's horrible. Thankfully this happened, my cardiologist had been telling me to lower sodium and cholesterol and I had stopped loosing weight like I wanted. After treating my mother like that I will be eating at not so life shortening places. Can't really explain why I was eating there anyway, get fried chicken, it's dry and tough.
