The food was astonishing, get the juicy sauce. The snow crab was some of my favorite, as well as the potatoes and sausage. Very enjoyable experience with respectful, energetic and helpful staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere makes you feel like you're under the sea.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the playlist was the cherry on top.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First note: this is a completely different company than the other Juicy Seafood. Service was friendly and efficient. The establishment was clean and seating was comfortable. They have various daily combo specials on the menu but we were allowed to pick whatever one we wanted this day. The food was delicious and we'll def be back.

We went here for Valentine's Day. Tried to make reservations but they only were accepting them for 6 or more people today. We waited about 45 mins. The hostess and the wait staff were pleasant and kind. Our waitress was helpful and efficient and appropriately attentive to us. She suggested the Valentine's Day special. It was an excellent choice for us. Plenty of food and a better deal than if we got our own boils plus it included dessert something we don't usually order because we are too full from dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables are all booth seating so be mindful (except in the very front of the restaurant where everyone waited to be seated) it was extremely busy but once we were seated away from the front the atmosphere was quiet and soothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have TV's placed throughout the restaurant which I didn't feel was necessary but others might enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did see supplies for each table (the bibs gloves etc) piled up near the bar area which I'm hoping was just for the busy night. The bar area was full. For such a busy night our food was so delicious right amount of seasoning for us. One thing I did appreciate is there were food options for the non seafood lovers and children making it a place most could come and enjoy a meal together. Highly recommend.

This is just my personal thoughts but it was not good. First off previously to arriving we were not informed that tables over 6 have to pay 18% gratuity, only when we had already arrived. Speaking of which out reservation was at 7 and we got seated around 7:30. I have a severe seafood allergy and I got the popcorn chicken and French fries; The fries were hard and frankly just not good, but seeing as how it is a seafood place that part was good for others around me. Our waitress (Amber) was nice up until it got time to pay when we found out that each separate check has an automatic 18% tip, and not what the host told us (that it was added on to the whole bill and separated). When my 15 year old sister complained asking if it was absolute that she would have to pay that, she said "Y'all don't act your age." And when asking what she said she responded "15 and fucked up." It took 15 minutes and asking twice to just get a to go cup and I stopped eating 15 minutes in.

Honestly- this place really over delivered! Reviews are on point! This might have been one of the most flavorful seafood boils I've ever had, and the quality of the seafood was really on point! Highly recommend!

    Week end special

Food was ok but by the time you cracked crab legs your shrimp and rest of your meal was cold and with the exception of the crab legs everything tasted the same. Lobster tail was small and the scallops were a bit over done. The corn was old and chewy the potatoes were ok. Over all it was a bit pricy and I would probably spend my money somewhere else ....

the decor reminds me of an outback steakhouse, it's kinda all sorts of wood. the restaurant team were all. wry friendly. was greeted with a smile by everyone. i came in for dinner on a monday night. not packed and two birthday parties were happening. the birthday song came on twice. i sat down and ordered a beer and a combo boil. garlic bread came out, very dense bread, fresh, properly buttered and garlic-ed.. the boil came out. got the shrimp, alaskan king crab leg, and sausage. the flavor is there. it was also very salty... really Really salty. if i was the ocean i would invade Salty. overall i'm glad i tried but might look for another place if i'm ever in the area.

With at least 4 similarly themed restaurants in the area, I chose SCJS based on Yelp reviews and glad I did. I had never had a seafood boil previously and found it delicious, varied, and a new experience. I chose a make-your-own with no-head shrimp, clams and sausage. It comes with potatoes and corn. Also, got hush puppies as an appetizer and complimentary garlic bread. My daughters had similar combos and paella. We all enjoyed what we had but had far too much food. The portions are by weight and 3 half-pound selections really do add up! I'd go easier the next time. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely worth a return trip.

    WEEKEND SPECIAL
    Trent T.

Spur of the moment taste for seafood I saw this place was close. There were only a few cars in the parking lot Saturday afternoon. Was greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the Weekend Special - Lobster tail, shrimp, and crab legs. Within 5 minutes of placing my order it was in front of me, and it was amazing! Everything was perfect. The restaurant is clean, the staff is attentive and the food was great. If I wasn't headed back to ATL tomorrow I would definitely be back. This place was awesome.

We got the weekend special, king crab special, 2 lbs of crawfish, Snow Crab/Shrimp salad, side broccoli, kids sweet potato fries and chicken fingers, wine by the glass. Pros: Variety to choose from. Good environment. The veggies that were the cheapest somehow turned out to be the best tasting lol Cons: Crawfish were not fresh and the crabs were too salty as if the salt was used to preserve it. The service was slow: I am not sure if it's on the server as she just got triple sat when we walked in.

I ordered the pasta and shrimp special, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, my daughter is vegetarian and ordered the Gnocchi Rossi, which was quite disappointing. It lacked flavor and was very bland compared to my meal. The biggest downside of our visit was the service. We were trying to enjoy some quality mother-daughter time together, but our waitress interrupted us constantly--almost every time we took a bite. We repeatedly assured her that everything was fine, yet she continued coming back to the table. At one point, while we were still actively eating, she asked if we were ready for boxes. When I said no, she replied, "Oh, okay, you're just taking your time." It definitely felt like we were being rushed rather than encouraged to relax and enjoy our meal. To top it off, we were never offered dessert or after-meal options. Despite feeling a bit rushed and annoyed by the constant interruptions, we still left a good tip because the waitress was working hard and remained polite. Overall, the food was a mixed experience, the atmosphere was wonderful, but the service made what should have been a relaxing mother-daughter lunch feel hurried.

We were fortunate to get one of those. It was decorated very tastefully for Christmas. Dinner was good, portion size for price was ok. Glaze on side tasted like from a bottle off supermarket shelf. Husband had the chicken french/lemon something. He enjoyed it. Just nothing impressed with the meals. Desserts however, are unbelievably delicious and generously portioned! Had a tough time making decision. This place, known for its desserts has a full bakery display when you walk in. We shared a slice of cake, we loved it. I would definitely come back for dessert. Most likely takeout, if ever in area again. I don't plan to ever return to Rochester. Tully's is a sports bar/restaurant, so there were wall to wall tvs in each room with a variety of sports games on. That's to be expected. We were greeted quickly by our waitress with a bowl of popcorn- which we ate all of! I ordered a "Tully's IPA" figuring it would be fresh on tap- it is discounted a bit. It was good- nice hops flavor and not too strong. Wifey had just water as she does nowadays. She ordered a Crunchy Asian chicken salad - she thought it was ok- romaine and grilled chicken (she asked for and got grilled vs. fried chicken tenders). It also had broccoli and cabbage and crunchy wonton strips in it as well. She wasn't the biggest fan of the dressing though. I had the Caribbean chicken sandwich. Pineapple Mango salsa and blackened chicken ima bun with loaded potato salad with bacon on the side. Not a bad sandwich. For being our last minute choice- Tully's was an ok backup plan that got us a quick dinner before our movie. For what it's worth- at a sports bar restaurant like this- I stick with sandwiches , burgers or wings and you usually can't go wrong. Tullys does all those rather well.

I'm very forgiving when it comes to a bad experience at a place I go to often. In the last couple of years I've had some really bad experiences where the food is just not good. Last year I door dashed an order that arrived cold. The manager did try to make it right but not without another manager being informed or any kind of log. I had tried the breaded fish. That was mediocre at best. Not memorable. Last night I gave it another chance. I ordered 10 Tullys tenders (because that is the ONLY reason to eat here.,) a potato soup, a peanut butter pie and the monkey strawberry shortcake thing. I got there and waited inside. My food came out, they checked it was right, took a payment and I drive my food 1.5 miles. I got it home and it was barely warm. There is no way my food would cool down that fast in that short amount of time. This isn't the first time I've done this. The chicken was crunchy but lukewarm. The chicken seemed a bit chewy and kind of fatty. Some of them were huge and others were skinny. There was no consistency. The soup was not hot either. There was no cheese or chives on it like I thought there would be. It was kind of water. It just wasn't that good. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't something thought I'd ever want again. I ordered the new strawberry monkey bread shortcake. It came with one little tiny ramekin of strawberries. A huge mound of fried tasteless bread I think and I asked for no ice cream but they forgot the whipped cream. It was 100% awful. It was gross. I'm not going to mince words. The only decent thing was the peanut butter mousse cake which is a sure thing. Three bad experiences in a row is enough to make me decide that I will not be going back.

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. Hearing how this restaurant Redd Wood shares the primary owner of Redd, Richard Reddington; I knew I wasn't not going to be disappointed since Redd is a favourite of mine. Starting off with a few appetizers, the deviled eggs were great. I can't say the caviar was necessary since we both didn't really taste it and the filling for the deviled eggs overpowered the texture and taste of the caviar, nevertheless we both enjoyed these. We also placed in an order for the tuna tartare. This came on sticky rice and had a primary flavour of sesame. The tuna was fresh, and it was a fantastic appetizer. The only disappointment we had with this dish is it states there is pear which we did not find throughout the dish nor taste. We saw they offered caprese which was done with burrata instead of fresh mozzarella which we found worked beautifully. Served with marinated tomatoes and a lovely balsamic vinaigrette, this was very refreshing. Now onto mains, I opted in the Prime NY Strip (14oz). This was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The steak itself was tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. For a side, I opted in for the Pommes Aligot (potato purée & alpine cheese) and this accompanied my steak perfectly. I can confidently say that this is one of the best steaks I've ever had from any restaurant. We found our server, Scott to be a pleasure. He was professional, hospitable, and made our experience that much better. Overall, this first experience at Redd Wood easily made it on my personal list of top 5 restaurants in Rochester.

The meatballs were light and the sauce flavorful, would've loved a few more June berries. Chicken wings were nicely spiced and no too saucy For the main we shared 2 steak frites- a bit more well done than the medium rare ordered but tender and tasty, fries are great- bordelaise sauce didn't have the depth of flavor I expected. For dessert we shared the lemon poppyseed cake and chocolate mouse. The cake was light and Lemony with a hint of poppyseed flavor.
