Cup of Lemon Artichoke Soup & Traditional Mini Veggie Chop Salad

Quick weekday lunch stop. Lemon artichoke soup was so good! I took the large "mini salad" to go. Good friendly service. Attractive clean decor. Always a solid go to lunch spot with vast selection.

Years later, I still love this place. They have one of the best eggplant parmesans in the area. I recommend it with the bolognese sauce though, so good! I think they check all the boxes, kind and attentive service, cozy atmosphere, and great portions, price and quality. I have zero complaints and I wouldn't change a thing.

Chicken & Biscuits, phone didn't eat first this time

We've tried to come a few other times and they haven't been open but we came tonight and this place was SO good! We both started with soup, cheddar broccoli and Italian wedding. Wow. Ordered some to go also. For dinner I got the chicken and biscuits, everything tasted so amazing you can tell it's home cooked which is just what we were looking for! The service was great, we didn't come at a busy time (7pm) everything was clean and tidy in the restaurant despite them being super busy earlier in the night. Will definitely be back!

    Lemon Artichoke Soup!!
    Richard P.

We have been coming here for close to ten years now and have never been dissatisfied. One of the specialties is the lemon artichoke soup which is unique and beyond compare. Any of the salads are huge and filled with fresh ingredients. Another excellent choice is the stockyard steak which always is done to perfection. Make Fruit & Salad one of your top choices when eating out and you will never regret it.

The food is outstanding! The staff was warm and friendly without being obtrusive, and the setting was very pretty. Simple, comfortable. I will be back!

We really enjoyed our meal here! We came during the summer of 2024. The staff were welcoming and quick to get a refill.

I love the food here. However, the manager is condescending and extremely rude to his staff. That is why I stopped going there.

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

I hadn't been in many years -- the location near me closed, and with so many other options around Rochester, it's not a place I often think of. This visit reminded me why the brand has stuck around for decades. Inside, the restaurant has a fun retro feel, and despite a busy lunch rush, service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Wahlburger, which I'd oddly never tried before. It's their classic cheeseburger built on a soft, fresh bun with a seasoned beef patty, melted American cheese, shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickles, a slice of ham, and their signature tangy Wahl sauce. It arrived looking pretty plain and unassuming, but that first impression didn't tell the whole story. The patty was nicely cooked, the bun was great, and the combination of ham with that killer sauce made the whole thing surprisingly delicious. I'd absolutely order it again. The fried cheese curds were the star of the meal. They looked like they might be heavy, but they were light, crisp, and delicious. The cheese inside was mild and unexpectedly perfect. I could have eaten a whole second order. The mac salad, usually my favorite side, was just okay -- good but not great. It needed a bit more salt, though I still finished it. All in all, while I wouldn't necessarily drive across town just for it, this was a solid lunch spot and a fun throwback. I'm sure I'll return with coworkers, and I'm already planning a visit with my son -- he'll absolutely go nuts for those cheese curds.
