I visited your ice cream shop recently and wanted to share some feedback regarding my experience. While your ice cream is quite good, the customer service fell far short of what is acceptable. My group stood in line at the second window after the first one was taking a long time, only to watch multiple people get served elsewhere while we were ignored. When we moved back to the first window, the second one suddenly opened. When I calmly mentioned this confusion, the employee working--who identified herself as Tessa--became defensive, rushed our order aggressively ("what else, what else, what else"), and then loudly talked about me right in front of me, telling someone else that I was "freaking out" and claiming that window only opens when it's busy (even though there was clearly a line). She also made a point to mention that the interaction was recorded on camera. As someone who runs an organization where customer service is our number one priority, this was a disappointing display of a lack of emotional intelligence and basic hospitality. A simple acknowledgment of the confusion or a polite apology would have instantly resolved the situation. Additionally, if there is a specific rule about when the second window is supposed to open, there really needs to be a clear sign posted. Given how many out-of-town visitors you receive, relying on unwritten rules only leads to frustrated customers. I hope you will use this as a coaching opportunity for Tessa on de-escalation and customer relations. read more

Our bus stopped on the way home at this amazing ice cream shop. I've driven by but this is the first time I've tried their ice cream. They carry homemade ice cream and some selections from Perry's. They also have soft serve. Everyone on the bus said this ice cream was great...from sundaes, milkshakes, soft serve with dips and hard ice cream it was unanimous. I had a great flavor I've never seen anywhere..... chocolate ice cream mixed with chocolate pieces and coconut pieces in a chocolate and nut dipped waffle cream cone. Walking up to the order window you're greeted by a friendly cashier who's eager to take your order. You look around at their large menu before deciding on getting a scoop of their newest creation: Earl's Ice Cream. After reading the description and learning that it's named after a local farmer, your scoop is up within minutes and now you have the option to sit outdoors in the sun, under their covered patio, or indoors in the AC. If you're needing a bit more than just ice cream you can also order food off of their snacks menu which includes fries, tenders, and other finger foods! read more

Super Cream Dairy Bar is a cute ice cream place that also serves some food in a cool throwback retro environment in Homer, NY. Ice cream and frozen treats are served via 2 outdoor walk up windows, while food is served in a modest indoor space off to the side, with plenty of patio seating outside, and plenty of them covered in case of rain. They have restrooms for customers in the rear of the building accessible by the indoor food area. Since the place is a dairy bar and we weren't hungry, we opted for ice cream treats rather than food. The Oreo milkshake (4.5/5) was thick and delicious, and tasted just the right amount of sweet without being excessive, although it seemed that most of the Oreo cookie pieces were distributed up near the top of the milkshake (but still great). The we saw plenty of people getting soft serve as well, so we tried the vanilla/chocolate twist soft serve (4.5/5). While I'm not the biggest fan of soft serve, it was decent quality ice cream and satisfied our sweet tooth. They use milk from local dairies, as many such places in the region do. Service (5/5) seemed to be from local high schoolers, but was quick, efficient, and friendly. They are clearly popular as there was a regular flow of local customers pouring in for treats on a nice summer evening, which is always a good sign. The world would be a better and happier place if more towns had a place like Super Cream Dairy Bar. I would return if passing through the area again, and would recommend them to others traveling north of Binghamton through the Cortland/Homer area. read more

We stopped in because we're staying in the area for skiing and they're the only ice cream stand open in the winter, or so we were told. They came very highly recommended, so off we went. Not disappointed! Their hard ice cream is all homemade. They had some seasonal (valentines) flavors along with many others and also lots of sundaes. We didn't try any of the food, but they had diner type stuff. It was a cool, vintage, drive up ice cream stand with delicious stuff, yum! I had a regular banana split and shared it because it was still pretty big, again yum! The kids got medium ice cream and it was probably 4 scoops, they put it in 16 oz cups. Really generous portions. Super Cream Dairy has a Super large selection of fresh homemade ice creams, hard and soft. Put it in a dish or on a cone you can't go wrong. Optioned for a small which is pretty big that i split into two flavors since I couldn't decide between the Black Raspberry and the Salted Caramel Toffee. The pricing is more affordable that most ice cream locals. If I lived closer I'd probably be here every other day trying out all their flavors. This location even has a drive thru, usually don't see that for an ice cream parlor. Although I suppose if you are willing to wait at carry out walk up window, why not wait on a drive thru line. I highly recommend this location as the quality is there and are sure regardless of flavors you pick you won't be disappointed. Everyone near and far traveling into town should make this a must do pit stop to support good local business. read more

This is a hometown love. It was the go-to ice cream stand growing up! They have all sorts of flavors and combinations. My best friend would drive all the way from Ithaca to "see me" but really she was coming up for Super Cream for their generous portions and killer ice cream. It used to just be seasonal but now they have a great year round location. My personal favorite from Super Cream is their flurries which have chocolate or vanilla soft ice cream with up to three candies/mix-ins. (I love mine with Skittles!) Waiting 30 mins in the drive thru. Definitely got to big for their own good. We honked after 15 mins. We also said hello to one of the ladies walking by who just looked at us.
