If you have heard about long-time fixture, Super Duper Teriyaki, then you have probably heard about their infamous "#3". This is the menu number for the delicious chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, eggroll and gyoza. We had take-out which was ready promptly, and enjoyed the huge portions at home. The chicken was plump and grilled in a light teriyaki sauce, but the star of the show was the katsu. Breaded and drizzled with a flavorful katsu sauce, it was comfort food to the max. The katsu was a tad dry, as was the gyoza, but I totally overlooked that as I dug in to feast. The eggroll was really nice with veggies inside. It was all laying on a bed of rice and a small green salad on the side with a sweet japanese type dressing. For those times you are looking for basic comfort, and craving your carbs, this is my recommendation. We all have those days when we need a little Super Duper. read more

Best teriyaki in town hands down. The chicken katsu is the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. Me and my bf always joke it has crack in it because it's so good. Not that great as leftovers, but how often does that happen with super duper? You just eat it all and have a terrible stomachache later. Also the guy that works there is just great. This hole-in-the-wall establishment at the corner of 21st and Harris offers some of the best chicken katsu in the Pacific Northwest. The sauce is absolutely spot on. There is not much of a parking lot in front of this store but usually there is ample street parking available. The inside is unadorned and almost borderline dirty. There should not have been such a big wait for the food that we ordered. It was nice it was the only teriyaki place open on Sunday in town but honestly just save it for another night when something else is open. It took maybe 45 minutes to get our food and we weren't given a time at all. I get that "it makes it more of the experience" but an estimate would have been nice. I go here quite often! And I always get the number 3 which is a combination of chicken teriyaki and katsu with rice, 2 gyoza, and 2 egg rolls. The chicken katsu is the absolute best and definitely most popular dish due to the sauce that comes with it. It's crazy good! It's consistently busy and you can call in to order ahead but they don't answer their phone due to them being so busy. It's very rare when they do answer. People who work there are not at all interactive or necessarily friendly but they are quick to take your order and make great food so the customer service experience doesn't matter too much! We just finished our meal (takeout order). Heard everyone raving about the Chicken Katsu and holy cow was it the best tasting Katsu in town! I'm not exaggerating either. We got the House Combo #5 but they ran out of riblets so we opted for beef. The chicken was really good and tender, but I think the star of the show was the Katsu sauce! It came with some rice and a salad as well. The salad dressing goes really well with the Katsu sauce. Beef was yummy and tender. Overall, tasted awesome and good portions. I generally would hate to give a 1 star review especially during a time like this when so many people are hurting, but I have been here twice now and both times were awful experiences. Today I was waiting in line and the man behind the counter was being very rude to the customer in front of me. He was repeating something that was hard to understand and just kept saying it over and over even though the customer clearly had no idea what he was saying. He began yelling the word aggressively towards the young college aged student until landing on "PRESS THE BUTTON" he was very rude and abrasive and he made no apologies. As I came up to the counter to pay, i noticed a small sign that said "no card payments under $10" - my order came out to $9.75, I explained that I didnt know they wouldn't accept cards for my order and if he could just up charge me to $10.00 he again aggressively responded "NO!" I again said "You cant just add .25 to my order?" and he told me i'd have to buy a drink to pay for my order. The food is not fresh. There was a stack of 10+ pre boxed orders that he grabbed mine from. They premake the teriyaki chicken and prebox it, so there is virtually no wait time on food, but the trade off is cold and not fresh food. After getting home and opening my box, it didn't even contain the salad that was supposed to come with my meal, and the chicken was hard and chewy. Not to mention the fact that they didn't sanitize anything between customers. Between a rude abrassive man, both times i've come, and mediocre food, i wont be coming back. read more

No, scratch that, they are the BEST teriyaki place in Bellingham. I realized I had started a review in 2016 that I never finished so I wanted to nip that in the bud. Its easy not to notice, being in the middle of a residential area as it is, but they serve some of the most tender and savory teriyaki chicken I've ever had. I usually get the combo with teriyaki and katsu chicken (their katsu sauce is literally like nothing I've ever had. Seriously, I usually avoid Katsu at most places since its not always that great, but whatever their recipe is...DAMN!) They also have a large selection of typical Chinese restaurant dishes like General Tsao and orange chicken which are all very crispy and sweet and tender! To avoid waiting, you should call ahead for takeout, but if you have to wait in the store, they usually have a water fountain as well as complimentary tea and miso soup! A hole in the wall restaurant which is always appealing to me. At first approach this place is not very reassuring. It is a bit dirty and worn down looking with very minimal seating and to-go service only, but, it was super busy and the food was delicious. It was also prepared very quickly, but tasted fresh. The customer service is less than perfect, but I'm going to chalk that up more to cultural differences . If they're busy, they aren't going to answer the phone since it's a small operation. The food though. I can deal with all of the above for the food. I have been a few times and prefer to do so before giving a review. Every time the chicken Katsu has been perfect. Giving them 5 stars because this place is the best Teriyaki in town no competition (in my opinion at least). If you crave customer service.. don't expect to be waited on here. Owners are all business and certainly don't care much about more than the food. They've been crazy busy recently serving incredible food, so don't expect them to answer the phone, and do expect to wait to place your order in person. 100% worth it. Salads are free but you will definitely have to ask for one. If you want good food, absolutely come here. Hands down the best teriyaki I've ever had. The chicken teriyaki is juicy and tender with a smooth coating of delicious sauce. The beef ribs are sweet and melt in your mouth. The katsu chicken is crispy and absolutely wonderful (admittedly sometimes there is a bit too much katsu sauce but it's not difficult to remove some if you feel this way). Just know that it is a small kitchen so if it is around a mealtime, be prepared to wait. And on a busy night like a Friday or Saturday, you might be turned away if you come within 45ish minutes of closing because there are already so many orders ahead of you. read more

Very rude, overcharged us, and then was rude about it when we pointed this out, and they refused to give any kind of refund. Ordered the chicken teriyaki and katsu combo. Was supposed to be 10.29 after their 50 cent rate hike, but they charged closer to $12.00 for it. The chicken teriyaki was awful. The katsu was not good, not terrible, but not good. Last time I go to this place. The same man at the register, that helped me 3-4 years ago used to be nice with his service. He would smile. Now he's just ripping you off. I ordered a Beef Teriyaki which was clearly $8.95 on the menu board. The associate there charged me $11.95. I couldn't find anywhere on the menu where that price existed. I did find that they raised their prices $.50 as of July 1st. Add insult to injury, after I grabbed a few bites of food I realized there was no salad. So, I had to go ask for that as well. This place gives up on any form of service. Might as well cook your own food. I saw another 2 people order right afterward and both prices were $11.95 for a chicken teriyaki and yakisobi. They had repeating looks at the menu board as well. It seems to me that Super Duper is taking advantage of college kids and people's niceties. An out of the way burger and Asian food place that I discovered by accident recently.The spicy chicken that I ordered was pretty good came with a small salad and miso soup white rice no brown rice option. The older couple attendants were more interested in Animal Planet than the cleanliness or state of their restaurant? The dining area is very small, unheated, poorly insulated, (a bit drafty on a cold windy day) area, tables needed cleaning. The dine-in food comes in a styrofoam takeout container. The best chicken katsu in town. HANDS DOWN. Their katsu sauce is amazing and I honestly can't order chicken katsu anywhere else anymore. My favorite is the special 5 which is chicken katsu, beef kalbi, an egg roll, two potstickers, rice and a side salad. I crave this place constantly and get takeout at least once a week (despite the styrofoam takeout containers). The owners are Korean and English is not their first language so they tend to come off as being unfriendly but rest assured they are nice people! Language barriers are a tricky thing. The side salad comes with most dishes and is in a separate container. The dressing for the salad is really tasty as well - my guess is some soy sauce and mayo combo. The actual chicken teriyaki is really hit or miss - sometimes it's really tender and juicy and others it's dry and chewy. Take your chances if you dare! Or just get the heaven-on-Earth-as-teriyaki chicken katsu. read more

I went here for lunch a few days ago. I ordered the tofu teriyaki and my partner had the katsu. The portion sizes were HUGE it was great. They opened and used an entire brand new block of tofu for me. My partners katsu filled the box. The flavors were pretty good, a little one noted. There is free unlimited miso soup but it's pretty bare bones, just miso and water. For the price and the amount of food, totally worth coming back. read more
