From the moment we checked in, the energy was off. The front desk staff member who greeted us (blonde hair, long fake nails) didn't make eye contact, barely acknowledged us, and came across as unfriendly and disengaged. In a place designed for kids and families, this kind of first impression matters, and unfortunately, it set the tone. The facility includes a climbing zone, a small café, an arcade, and open space for kids to play. Marlee, who was working at the prize area, was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our visit. She was warm, upbeat, and engaging with every child who approached her. She truly brought the kind of energy this place should be known for: fun, respectful, and interactive. If every staff member had her approach, this would be a five-star review. She deserves a promotion or at the very least, recognition. That said, the rest of the staff seemed either disinterested or unprepared to manage the space. Kids were sprinting around recklessly, bumping into others and causing minor chaos with no supervision or redirection. Staff members were either too young, too inexperienced, or simply unwilling to intervene. Several arcade machines were broken, without signage, and remained so even after it was brought to staff's attention. Kids were losing tokens repeatedly and having to return to the counter to ask for help, which became frustrating and took away from the fun. This center has potential, but what it really needs is not just updated attractions, but a serious upgrade in staff training, supervision, and customer engagement. A fun place should feel fun, safe, and welcoming--and right now, it's missing the mark.

This is a nice comfortable place to visit with several regulars having their beverage of choice while deep in discussion solving the world's problems. This is a typical sports bar heavily favoring the Chicago Cubs as you can probably tell from the name. There are pool tables, a jukebox, video poker and lots of TVs. Lots of lighting but the place still seams on the darker side. The only staff I saw was the man behind the bar and there has to be someone in the kitchen because people were ordering food. It looked like the typical bar food, deep fried and burgers. I have eaten here in the past and enjoyed that meal. Cubs fan or not this is a nice place to visit and you can feel welcome. This bowling alley is adjacent to the sand volleyball courts, which are fun to watch or participate in as well. The Cedar Rapids Sports/Social Club hosts a lot of summer and winter events (including bowling). At this bowling alley, I usually get a pitcher of Big Grove's Arms Race craft beer to drink with friends as we bowl. The atmosphere is classically sophisticated with an air of the 80s. I walked in there yesterday to check it out since i like to check stores and see how their prices are, how their staff operates, and the basic aesthetics of said store front. Spent a lot of time in retail environments because of my mother so these things are second nature to me For starters the layout is awful like a jumbled mess. Case for pokemon cards was hidden by a shelf in the back of the store. Zero supervision. Looked to be no cameras. I could have swiped that whole case and walked out since the staff there had one guy helping customers and the rest sitting on their phones. That's something big that should be addressed and i wonder how much inventory they have actually lost due to the incompetence or ignorance of the staff as a unit. After standing back there for about 5 to 10 mins i walked out of the store unnoticed then came back in and asked for assistance. Not so much as a welcome or a see you again but hard to do that when your nose deep in what i would guess are tiktok's/reels Anyways, I figured i'd buy what looked to be 3 damaged cards before the owner started throwing stock at me he hadn't even went through/priced yet while bragging about buying collections at or under 60% and later bragging on lowballing people on binders with expensive cards. This is why people don't like card shops 90% of these guys are out to screw you and want to live on these 40%+ profit margins and thats is why places like this FAIL after 5 years but that is besides the point. looking most of the case i can tell you it was LP-/MP/HP/DMG cards all listed at NM/PSA 7/8 prices for raw cards One of the damaged cards was a 1st edition he claimed was LP. Saw the dents on the back when he pulled them out of the case. The other 2 he couldn't hide the fact were damaged. Grabbed 4 cards from his stock that hadn't made it to the case or been looked at according to him and grabbed them for way under what they should have been in that condition I definitely overpaid on the 3 damaged cards but, for me personally, isnt a big deal since i have the means to do so and i always try to buy from every card shop i come by. Overall I would not buy TCG through this shop 100%. Staff looks to be very lazy. The layout, from a retail sense, is god awful and doesn't highlight whats hot right now nor funnels customers through the store with any consistent flow. The owner isn't as knowledgeable as he seems and could definitely improve in that aspect. There is potential but its gonna take said owner not employee lazy friends who sit on their phones and employing people with tangible assets and actual skills when it comes to floor planning and stocking/organizing.

I have gotten $50 for a case of 100/150 best selling hardbacks. You never know as one time I brought in quality mint condition coffee table books - my offer for the lot of 50... $2. So I don't know what the deal is but the worst thing is they don't return your books. Some they take and will throw away or donate because the don't want to offend. I wish I had the option to take the books they knew they were gonna trash. All in all, they are only game in town u nless you want to do this full time. And I see them taking advantage.
