TRANSFORMED my damaged patchy box dyed hair i never write reviews anywhere for anything but!! i would rate 10 stars if it was an option. my hair was in terrible condition and looked so busted and ugly after i tried to dye it dark brown and then bleach it at home I made an appointment with Kaka because i saw his work on instagram and in person he was the SWEETEST man ever. He is so professional and caring and an absolute expert at hair coloring and cutting. I was so nervous because my hair was like 5 different colors including GREEN after what i did at home but he bleached, color corrected, toned and gave me the most BEAUTIFUL SILKY HAIR and i was able to keep my length He also gave me the best face framing pieces and cut off my split ends!!! Somehow my hair was super silky and smooth even after all the treatments and washing and blowdry! Kaka is truly a miracle worker and im so grateful he spent the entire day making my hair perfect he also cooked ramen for me because i was hungry and there was vibey music playing the whole time I cant recommend enough! He quoted me $280 after the 20% promotion which was fair for this area. It took 9 hours hours of non-stop work but he worked his magic on my hair. I desperately needed to do something about my quarantine hair (I have not had it done since 2018, yikes!) And after some searching through Yelp and IG, I found Super Skills Hair Salon! I called to get a quote and sent through my current hair + hair goals. Kaka, who is the owner replied promptly and gave me a reasonable price on a balayage + haircut. He is located in Flushing, which is pretty much a day trip for me, and he estimated it would take around 5-6 hours to achieve the hair that I wanted. The salon was easy to get to, located just a block away from the Main St subway station. It is located on the second floor, but it wasn't hard to find at all. As soon as I walked in, he was finishing up with another guest and he greeted me as I waited in the front waiting area. (Her hair turned out amazing btw, so I was pretty thrilled for my turn lol) He offered me a beverage and I felt very welcomed. I appreciated his thoughtfulness and explaining to me through the process, as well as talking me out of a haircut that might not suit my face shape. Bless! Overall, I walked out of there 5 hours later feeling like a whole new woman. Thank you, Kaka! TLDR: Kaka is a master at his craft, and knows a lot about hair. I came in with previously bleached hair, and they were so careful to correct it strand by strand, while also making sure to explain every single step to me so I could understand what they were doing to my hair. I'll be honest, I had my reservations at first - they had just opened during the middle of the pandemic and the pricing seemed almost too good to be true - but I was totally blown away by how well they treated me and worked with my fragile hair. Kaka and Cam did an amazing job. They were great at listening to what I was looking for, but still delivered a result that was better than I could have imagined. They never rushed a single process with my hair, even when their salon was starting to get really busy. Caring, nice and funny hair salon! Came in to get my hair colored and got it cut a bit. First, customer service is amazing, offered to bring me and another girl food and water. even when we both said its ok they still brought us oranges and cup noodles Owner and employee always made sure and asked if i was ok. My hair took a bit long to finish. I started at 1:30pm and i believe i ended at 9:10ish but i understand its not their fault because the salon was very small and only had two people working there. Seems like they only take two people that want to color hair daily and one person if they want to get a haircut. I noticed they were very tired but even with the amount of energy they had, they tried very hard to still be happy and finish the job. I like small and not so busy salons so this place was perfect for me. He was also playing a bit of the guitar for his clients to listen to! He is very talented for knowing how to play some live music and for knowing his way around hair. They made sure my hair looked perfect. The price was great, not to expensive compared to what hair salon i originally was going to go to. Im glad i found this salon on yelp.
