Growing up in the 70's in Los Angeles we were all indoctrinated oh how California was choking on smog. So by the 80's they had figured out a way to charge us for it. So smog checks were instituted, and the systemization of us Americans continued. There has been a smog place on this corner since 1985. With the exception of a few miscellaneous years , I've always used this location. It's in an industrialized section of El Monte where you can get cheap prices on goods and services. What you won't find here is pretentiousness and attitude. You bring your car / truck here , they do the test and your usually heading off down the road within 15 minutes. I have a huge Ford F-350 diesel and I hate getting it smogged. It's only a visual test to make sure it's not all modded up and contaminating our environment. I actually do it under protest , because it's only a way for the government to make more money off of me. But at least it's a little less painless when I come here to the Smog Center - I have never failed a smog test. So ultimately if you need a smog test , are worried you're not gonna pass - or get the runaround. Come here and let all the worries pass... read more

The time has come when the DMV starts to hound you to get your smog test conducted or else you don't get them tags.... Well here I was pondering as to where to get my smog inspection done at. Last time I got a smog check, I went to Koreatown and everything went well, but there was a language barrier. So I decided to ask around to see if my friends had any recommendations. My former boyfriend had gone here in the past and told me that they're pretty reliable. So I gave it a shot. It was a little busy, but the customer service rep informed me that I'll be in and out, and boy was he right! These guys know what they're doing and on top of that, they educate you on the mechanical intricacies of your vehicle, which is nice since me being a female, I have a lack of knowledge in that department. Wait time was 10 min tops and went by fast as I was watching all the latest snapchats. lol. Would I come here again? Yes because this place earned my trust. As I am always on a budget and love negotiating my way for some deals, they made it easier on me by giving me a great deal! I took my Honda Accord 1999 to ask them for the smog check. i asked the mechanic how much he charge for the smog check. he said at first first $125 then when i stare at him then he say $85. $85 is still high. i don't recommend anyone to come here for the smog check at all. they will ripped u off like a piece of paper. so stay away from this smog check station. if i can give --- star will do that at an instance. read more
