The usual place I go to for my other vehicle isn't that close and on the pricier end so I took to yelp to find a new place that's closer to home. I am glad I found Smog Club! It's easier to enter the plaza heading West on Garvey and it's not the easiest place to find as it has a small entry driveway. They only take cars made after 1999 as they do not have a dyno. I have brought my two vehicles here for smog testing the past 3 years and have never waited longer than 20 minutes. Customer service has been great! Don't expect much from their phone service because it appears the person handling incoming calls is also in the back working, but I don't mind that since they don't require appointments for service. The waiting area is small but has plenty of chairs and since they don't take long doing the test, it's never been a problem the times I've been here. Parking: once you drive in, there are a couple of parking spots up front. Just park your car and walk right in. They will move your car in to get it checked. Just make sure you are on Garvey heading west bound towards walnut grove cause it is tricky turning in on Garvey heading east bound. I came here because my cousin recommended for a smog check. They are super fast and efficient. I came during lunch time and it wasn't busy. Usually there are waits at other places but they get you in and out quick. The price is cheap. Walked in, immediately greeted by Tony, warm and inviting gentleman. Had a great demeanor and attitude. I drive a full-size truck (GMC Sierra) and this is usually an excuse for other places to bait and switch their advertised prices (bear in mind, I *know* a larger vehicle should be more, but not double or for shame, triple). The service here is so friendly and quick. I was literally in and out in about 15 minutes, and for only $30! The seating area is comfy. Lucky for me I was the only person getting a smog check when I went but I can imagine it being a longer wait if there were more customers since they only can fit one car in the garage at a time. I don't get the ratings. They're so incredibly rude here. And I saw them being rude to other people as well. I called before hand and got a quote for my car. I walked in later and said hello, the guy working the front desk just looked at me and didn't say anything. I spoke again and asked if I could get smog done. He shrugged and handed me the clip board with paperwork. They also charge more than you advertise, even if you call beforehand. I was referred to come from a friend so I came on a weekday and I see there wasn't any cars at this time so I thought I would be in and out...but NO that was not the case! I told them that I needed smog and they said to wait and it will be a few minutes and we will be right with you(I'm the only customer here???). So I waited and waited...10 mins after that a gentlemen pulls in my car and the technician operating the machine said I had to wait outside due to insurance so I said no problem. I was outside out of there way but I can still see my car from where I was standing next to the wall...and now the technician walked out to me and said I can't watch from there so I said WTF to myself and walked up the driveway. Then 5 minutes later the same gentlemen that pulled in my car pulled it out and said to come back tomorrow and I asked why and he said that the machine stopped working. I went to the corner store to get something to drink as I was passing by the place I see that they have another car in the bay like there machine just happen to start working after I left. I went to get a smog check and transfer the title of my car. The smog check is cheap and title transfers also - beats having to wait hours at the dmv. I got there for my appointment at 12 but they were working on another guys car. Also, the guy I called wasn't even there hence why I docked a star - there was some confusion on who would help me. But after the guys who were there were done with the person before me, they did a smog check on my car and even notified me of a leak where I was loosing power steering fluid! I knew I had a leak but I didn't know where and they notified me right away. They also helped me transfer the title to my name and I was out of there before my dentist appointment. I checked in for $15 off which brought the total to an astounding $28 including the certificate and DMV transmission! Very friendly guy, and there's a small waiting room with a comfy couch. Easy to find--turn in when you see a cinderblock building, Chinese characters and the Smog & Lube sign. There's also a white sign that says Smog Club. All the papers I got said Smog Club--it must be their alternative business name? People may have dentists, doctors, restaurants, hair salons they like. If I could do 0 stars I would. The only reason I'm leaving a review is to save anyone from getting ripped off by these crooks. First- they run a shady business and still rip you off Second- EVERYONE THAT WORKS HERE (or at least today 1-31-2018) is a JERK. Here's my day, I spend all day trying to get a smog on my car and they keep telling me to drive so the codes can clear or something in that nature. So after spending a whole day wasting gas and being given the run around, I pull up to the smog club and the driveway was very narrow so we turn the car slightly in the garage. I ask the man if Tony was there (I guess he's the boss or manager) and he replies "yeah , but you have to pull out this isn't self serve" um ok, that's fine, but was the sarcasm necessary? After I go inside to ask them what we can do, turns out that guy wasn't Tony the guy inside was. After filling out paper work and being told we would have to wait 2 more weeks that's all anyone said. He had the car running and he completely ignored us for about five minutes until I walked outside and said hey can I leave? Or what's going on, a different guy said "I'm waiting for you to tell me what you want to do." Like all you had to say was yes you may leave. Now I wasn't trying to leave a review at first, but WOW just WOW! I've never been to a business that was so rude and useless. Save your time money, take your car somewhere else trust me!!! read more

I waited till the last minute of course and I needed my smog done fast. Found this place close by with a good Yelp deal. Called in to see if there was a wait time and told me it was going to be 30 mins but by the time I got there, they were able to take me right away. They have the front unit so it's easy to see from the street but the drive way was a little narrow. They seem to be under new management so u got to bare with all the dust and moving around. But besides that fact, I was helped right away and took no more than 10 mins during the smogcheck 5 min check-in and don't forget your DMV paper. I did! So it took a few minutes longer for me as they needed to scan my VIN. But Wow $15 OFF and I was in and out in no time! Fast and friendly service, I'm all good with that :) read more
