He did the test but he did not run the car on the wheel (is that legal???) and I can attest he is A HUSTLER. I'm blocks from his business and he called me 'a neighbor'. this is how it works. A smog test is around $30 plus tax. He can charge whatever he wants by providing you with "an estimate" I'm super disappointed to be hustled. And i looked at the rest of the reviews and they don't smell right. I suspect they are friends and neighbors. A lot of weird names. So I bought a truck went to DMV and was informed I need to get a few things done to finish registering my truck. Among one of them is getting it smog. So I go to the nearest smog test facility near me. Danny immediately lets me know that the catalytic converter is not up to California standards (bought truck out of state) He directs me to some mechanics he knew, long story short, I finally got the right converter and did some extra work. The retest offer (58.00 our the door I really appreciated his being super transparent about the fact that if I used the Yelp offer and my car failed, I'd have to pay to get tested again whereas if I was concerned that I might not pass I could pay a little more and have the peace of mind to know I could come back and not be out of pocket again. Fast and cheap! There was only a five minute wait to get started since there was someone else there. My car is on the older side (pre-2000) and I've heard they take longer but I was out within 10 to 15 minutes. Plus the guys there are super nice and accomodating while you're waiting for your car.
