This reminds me of the authentic taco places in my home town. Huge portions of great food. There was too much to choose from, so naturally I'll be back a few times to try it all. I couldn't choose from the burrito or the Hawaiian tostada, our waitress couldn't help because she said they were both her faves too. With her descriptions, I went steak burrito. I was not disappointed. Massive, delicious, worth it. The only thing I'd do differently, I'd ask for no lettuce. For me, personal preference, it didn't add to the taste, seemed to detract. Super disappointed - decent food, but they did not put sour cream or any kind of sauce with my enchiladas. Traditional enchiladas are cooked in a red or green sauce that moisten the tortillas. These have no sauce at all and are simply smothered in cheese. It came with some red/green salsa, but it does not taste the same. Instead of diced tomatoes, there is just one lone slice of tomato in the to-go container. I'm super confused as to why the restaurant serves its enchiladas this way. It looks really thrown together, and the burrito my partner ordered was pretty much the same. A tortilla filled with only chicken and guac, and smothered in cheese. Rule No. 1: Do not eat in restaurants in strip malls. Rule No. 2: Make an exception here. Ambience is less than overwhelming, but it's all good after that. Service was quick and friendly. Food also came quickly. Burrito with pork al pastor was excellent. Guacamole on top was scrumptious. The chile relleno was a large poblano stuffed with cheese and accompanied by rice and smooth, tasty refritos. Had choice of corn or flour tortillas. Yaaasssss! I absolutely love these family owned, hole-in-the-wall gems! It's unsuspecting and next to a gas station...how awesome is that?! Their tacos are perfectly proportioned in the meat to tortilla ratio so that each bite you take is savory perfection! Not that I am a frequenter of Mexican restaurants in Lincoln, but I will put it out there that if you are looking for authentic, delicious, and reasonably-priced Mexican, Super Taco is possibly the most super choice. I went balls to the wall and ordered a beef taco, a chicken taco, both with lettuce and cheese, and a chorizo torta to round it out. The meats were juicy and seasoned well. My favorite part of the whole meal: they were NOT marinated with onions or peppers. I especially do not prefer onions so this was huge for me. Portions were plentiful and I literally made it out completely full for under $10. The ambience is nothing over thrilling but the food is what matters here. Also, whoever designed their mascot is pure genius. If that awesome Super Taco superhero does not lure you into this place, the food will. Muy sabroso! read more

Okay, so I read that some dude was crapping on this place because of a friggin Margarita..... well, to be honest this is your typical "pappas and beer" kind of place like you find in Downtown LA, Tijuana, Ensenada...etc... If you want good, authentic Pappas and Beer, go here... if you want your hoity toity margarita, then I would go to Carlos O Kelly's or something, seriously because this isn't really a Margarita sort of place and anyone who walks through the front door would be able to figure that out. I grew up in the LA area and did my fair share of camping in Mexico on the bluffs in Ensenada....and I can tell you, this is pretty much the closest you will get to the real authentic Mexican street taco, here in Nebraska. I used to really miss these little gems and would pig out on them every visit to CA, but now I found Super Taco and now....I pig out on them a couple times a week! I really don't like giving one-star reviews but my experience at Super Taco was anything but super. On our cross-country roadtrip we ended up in Lincoln around lunchtime and found this place via Yelp search. While the storefront turned me off, my boyfriend was determined to give them a fair shot. Not having any idea what to order, I went by pictures and selected a gordita. When asked for a meat choice, I was overwhelmed by the options (three different kinds of pork!) but settled on the seasoned pork. Unfortunately the first thing I noticed on my gordita was a small hair. Then a second one. I scooped them out of the sour cream and pushed forward. However, my first bite disappointed. The shell was like a fried pancake, but not as tasty. The meat was pretty flavorless, and the only other filling was cheese. I snacked on the guac that was served on the side but only made it through less than half of my meal. My boyfriend had much better luck, ordering three tacos, his favorite of which was the taco al pastor. I tasted it and it was a huge improvement from my meal. Other than the food, I was also unsatisfied with the cleanliness. The water glasses looked to be older than me (very chipped) and there was absolutely no soap or paper towels in the women's restroom. I had written a review for the Sun Valley location, but I'm pretty sure this location has closed. I have tried to go several times and the place has been locked up. I have absolutely no problem making the trek to this one though, because Super Taco is amazing. It has become my favorite place to go for the real deal Mexican food I so often crave. Their meats here are so delicious. You can get all kinds of stuff you can't find at your typical Mexican restaurant (tongue, cheek, stomach) along with much of the usual stuff and it's all good. On my last visit I had Tlacoyo which had incredible beans, seasonings, crema, and queso fresco and I of course had to add one of their fantastic Mexican tacos on the side (my meat of choice being Adobada-a delicious marinated pork). My boyfriend got a burrito with steak that was huge and also incredibly delicious. All this wonderful food rang it at about $13, so you really can't beat the price. Their traditional Mexican tacos are $1.35 a piece so order a few and make a meal out of it or tack one or two on to one of their many other menu options. Either way, you gotta try these little babies. They also have liquor drinks and many Mexican beers to compliment your meal, and many desert options if you're in need of a bit of something sweet to finish it all off. They also take all major credit cards (with a $5 minimum I believe) and add to that their friendly, informative and fast service. This place is great. Give them a try and I'm pretty sure you'll feel the same. read more

Super Taco is rad. It has a dude in a giant sombrero and a Superman "S" on his freakin poncho painted on the window. It's worth coming here just to get a pile of tacos. As of this review they're $1.35 a piece and 4 of them is enough to get you through til dinner without threatening your co-workers with deadly colon bombs. You'll want more, though. You can tell this place is great because 1) despite the tacos being a simple affair of corn tortillas, onions, your choice of meat, and cilantro, they're delicious, and 2) the place fills up with Latinos at lunch time. Since there are only about 8 Latinos in all of Nebraska, that says something. I come here about once per week for tacos, have been for about 6 months, and I look forward to it every time. A little restaurant that can turn a simple taco into awesomeness is worth its weight in gold in ANY city, but especially in a city that has no idea how to do Mexican food. Taco John's, are you kidding me? Frying up a frozen tater-tot and calling it a "Mexi-fry" doesn't make it Mexican. But, I digress. Super Taco's service is friendly and JUST quick enough to be doable for lunch. They take cards, as long as you're buying over $5 worth of food. First off, I must say that I can't eat corn. I've been craving Mexican something fierce this week and I thought I'd give Super Taco a go and see if there was anything they could do for my eating habits + ravenous cravings. Our waitress was super kind and patient with me, she basically gave me nachos but since I couldn't have the corn chips, she had all the nacho toppings put in a (flour) taco salad bowl. Success! My husband had regular 'ole nachos. Our nachos had something like the cheese you get with your pretzel at a baseball game and I wish it would have been melted shredded cheese, however given my eating restrictions and the circumstances, I was just super stoked to be eating some good Mexican food. read more

Went to Super Taco tonight with a friend. Was a little overwhelmed by the menu. Many choices with what proved to be very accurate descriptions Settled on a couple of tortas and chips and guacamole. I got the Aztec torta, it was large. Grilled like a Cuban sandwich. Filled with meat, cheese and veggies. I would call that sandwich outstanding. The chips and guacamole were great and my friend enjoyed her torta. The building and decorations are not fancy and this is definitely a family run business. Best way to put it 39 of 40 items to go, hope they all are as good as the torta. I'm from out of town and was craving some street taco's. Little did I know that I would find a gem in Lincoln to satisfy this craving. Very authentic and very tasty! I've missed having really good street taco's since I've moved out of California, but found their taco's to be on par with what you could find on the west coast. Great selection to choose from and very affordable prices. No need to get a fast food lunch when you can come here and get a way better meal for nearly the same price. This is the best Mexican food in Lincoln. Coming from the west coast I grew up with "authentic" Mexican food and this is the closest to home I've found here in the Midwest. Everyone who works there is very friendly and the portions are great! My wife loves the tacos, I love the burritos, and we usually share a quesadilla. The sopes are the reason we keep coming back though! They are perfectly made, not too thick, plenty of delicious beans and cheese! I get mine with milanesa and it is bomb.com! I was warned by a co-worker that looks can be deceiving. He was right. I arrived at this little gem with a not so impressive outside. Nestled in a little strip mall, the unremarkable appearance hides what is to be once you get in. Not a big place, but clean and neat. For as small as it is, it has a pretty extensive menu. Good choice of beers and margaritas. I ordered 3 carne asada tacos. They were open faced on corn tortillas. They were topped of with fresh onions and cilantro. I also ordered their house salsa. Pay a bit extra for this. The salsa was very mild, but I liked the rustic chunkiness consistency. Fresh corn chips came with the order. On the table was a red squeeze bottle containing a much more aggressive salsa. Hints of habanero. I applied the red sauce liberally. Hot, but delicious. There was also a squeeze bottle containing a green salsa. I did not try that. Service was fast and you could tell that the meat had not been sitting in a tray somewhere for an extended time period. I asked an Hispanic friend to recommend a restaurant in Lincoln, I don't speak enough Spanish anymore to understand what transpired between my friend and the 2 or 3 other Spanish speaking folks in the group but the consensus was Super Taco. I tried it today and it was killer!!!!! I lived in Tucson for a few years so I was kind of thinking that it would be an American interpretation of what Mexican cuisine should be like.
