I used to come here all the time when I was younger and was craving their torta de asada so I decided to try it out again recently. It is decently sized with plenty of seating indoors, we went on a pretty busy night, but there was still seating available. They take cash and card, but there is a fee if you decide to use a card. We got chips, a torta de Asada, a giant burrito de Asada, and a large Horchata. It was $23 for all of this which I think is a very good price. Everything was delicious. The salsa is very good too. They provide containers if you are ordering to go, or they give you a bigger container of your preferred salsa. I personally love their salsa Verde. My only complaint is that you don't get the chips until you get the rest of your food, and I was really hoping to snack on the chips and salsa while we waited. I came in and immediately saw expensive prices for the tacos. I spent $20 for 4 tacos which in my opinion is outrageous. Customer service was not good at all. The cashier was moody and sometimes acted like I wasn't even there. I then ordered a lengua burrito and I could barely find any lengua in there. This place is OK. I've been here a handful of times over the past 10ish years, and have never been overly impressed. My go-to order here are the tacos. I think this is one of the best ways to get a good sense of the meat taste, since sometimes it can get lost with the other ingredients inside a burrito. The regular tacos are $2.99 and the super tacos are $3.69. All tacos come with beans & pico de gallo, the difference with the super is the addition of cheese and avocado. This time around, I ordered one carne asada (steak) and one adobada (marinated pork) super taco. I usually order al pastor at taquerias, but the girl at the counter said the adobada was close to that. I've also had the pollo (chicken), though it's shredded which is not my favorite. The carne has decent taste, however the issue has always been quality of meat. There are always way too many chewy/fatty pieces in the steak. The pork was also OK, kind of dry. The chicken tastes pretty plain, plus I have a personal preference to grilled chicken. The staff is friendly and they prepare everything in an open style kitchen. They no longer have a salsa bar (I assume COVID related), however you can request pico, red or green salsa. I wasn't a huge fan of the pico, though I was pleasantly surprised at how spicy the green salsa was. They do NOT provide free chips with meals, which is another negative. The size of the super and mega burritos is actually laughable, I recently ordered a Super asada burrito, the size was small about the length of a regular Bic pen. The amount of whole beans was small, lack of season and meat tiny bits, if you want more meat, you have to pay $2 extra, and by that time their tiny flavorless burrito you pay $12. The crew is not friendly and they will bully you and gaslight you, like is the outdoor market in a third world country and they ask for a Tip, when you pay. Don't waste your money and time. I ask for several orders and to be separated, and they mix everything up, they refuse to separate them. They told me that I have to separate them. If you ask to heat the tortillas more, they charge you more just because they have to use more oil. All the tacos are served very bad and the tortilla gets saggy. Popular spot for Mexican food in Watsonville. I ordered the potato flautas for $5 and chicken nachos for $8. The flautas were ok. They were really greasy and under seasoned, so I added some pico de gallo from the salsa bar and that made them way better. The nachos were good. Kind of a small portion for the price but I had the flautas as well so I definitely wasn't hungry. The best part of my dining experience was the salsa bar. The salsas are all spicy and delicious. As for the interior, the tables are a little dirty and there's nothing special about the decor, but there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. This used to be a good place to get quick Mexican food. I went in tonight and ordered two burritos and some nachos. The people preparing the food looked confused as to what they were doing. They took way too long to roll two burrritos and top food on tortilla chips. When I arrived home excited to have dinner, I realized that I was missing one of the burritos! The tortas de asada here are really good. Food is not pricey and stayed on the lower end even though everything else out there went up in price. The only reason why I'm not giving them a 5 is because their bathrooms are nasty, and they usually smell to the point the eating area smells funky. They also don't take debit/credit card.
