I left her a message on a Sunday, and by Monday at 3:30 I was sitting in her office. She stayed with me straight through until 8:30 that night, even during a monsoon storm outside, never once losing her patience or showing frustration, even though my file was a complete mess thanks to TurboTax. Yes, it cost me $850 to have her fix everything (on top of the $350 I had already wasted on TurboTax), but I would pay her fee a hundred times over before I'd ever give the IRS $7,300. Robyn is worth every penny. Her professionalism, dedication, and kindness blew me away. TurboTax will never advise you, correct you, or fight for you the way Robyn will. She is in her 70s, has dementia, and needed a professional who could patiently and competently navigate the process. Instead, we encountered an accountant who was lazy, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. From the very beginning, Bill failed to read or absorb the information I provided, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times. Rather than listening or problem-solving, he fired back condescending emails filled with attitude. At one point, when pressed for guidance, his response was: "There is nothing further I can do for you. You will need to find a tax preparer that doesn't know what they are doing in order to get the return filed. Good luck!" That's right -- instead of doing his job, he essentially told my family to go hire someone "who doesn't know what they are doing" if we wanted the return completed. What kind of professional speaks to clients like this? This wasn't a one-off slip in tone -- it was a pattern of arrogance, laziness, and outright neglect. Bill showed zero compassion for my mother's condition, no willingness to problem-solve, and no respect for our time or circumstances. He seemed more interested in blaming us than actually providing solutions. An accountant's role is to help clients through complicated situations, not abandon them when things aren't simple. Bill made it clear that he doesn't have the patience, professionalism, or empathy to handle real-world clients with real-world challenges. Prospective clients: take this review as a warning. If you entrust your sensitive financial matters to William Mease, expect rudeness, blame-shifting, and zero accountability. Professionalism isn't just about refusing to "compromise integrity." It's also about having the patience, empathy, and communication skills to work with clients in difficult situations. Bill demonstrated none of these qualities. His responses showed the emotional intelligence of a toddler -- reactive, defensive, and incapable of constructive dialogue. Luckily I had made physical copies before dropping off my documents to that other service and I found these guys on Yelp. Evelyn was very friendly and booked me an appointment right away and offered their help to file an extension and prepare my taxes at a later date. Bill saw me in person hours later to explain everything and what to expect. When he saw how simple my filing was he offered to do it right then and there so it would all be resolved. Despite hitting a few roadblocks with getting all the information needed from me, he patiently helped me figure it all out and ended up getting it all filed. After a horrific experience elsewhere and this office's kind and quick service, I will be returning here in the future. Instead of being insulted and ignored, I was treated with kindness and respect even though I am not a big money account. I've dealt with H&R Block before, but not this specific location. I called them on Thursday to set up an appointment for the weekend, and the lady that I spoke with was friendly and helpful. She told me that I could do that, and to download the early dropoff form off the website to get it started. So, Thursday night I drop of my W-2's and forms at this location, and go about my business. I talked to the guy at the desk (who ended up being my advisor) and told him I was there to do my taxes and that I had an appointment. Here is where I get mad. He couldnt find my forms!! OMG. He ended up spending 15 minutes looking for my paperwork. He even called the receptionist at home to see if she knew where they were! I was SO upset! OMG its 2 weeks until tax day, and of all people to lose my paperwork, it was the tax preparer?? What the hell is going on here? At one point, he had the receptionist lady on speaker who told him to "get my phone # and I'll call her back tomorrow." NO! I need this done now! My paperwork is IN HERE somewhere! Finally, the tax guy came to me after he was done on the phone and said he couldnt find my paperwork. My blood pressure was so high at this point, and I was really upset. I told him that he HAS to find my paperwork, and I need this done today. He ended up finding it, thank goodness, but I was still upset. The tax guy told me to come back in an hour and my stuff should be done. I went and ran a quick errand, and came back like an hour later. Fortunately, my taxes were done, and my stress was substantially reduced. I will say, he did apologize for the error which I appriciated. *NOTE! , Even though I was really unhappy with this specific location losing my paperwork, I will not hold it against H&R Block as a whole. I just will NOT be returning to this location or tax advisor in the future. I was thuroughly disappointed with the whole thing, but he did apologize and find my paperwork.*
